Naomi Osaka vs. Aliaksandra Sasnovich | 2025 Beijing Round 2 | WTA Match Highlights

when she became a mom, uh saying that h she will never be able to to come back, not even remotely close to what she used to be. And look, right now she’s top 15 again. Oh, that was an excellent shot placement right and left in in the same time it was motivating me to be good on my serve. Oh, breathtaking. What a point. Superb from start to end. Semi-final at Flushing Meadows. Oh, I think she she dwelled too much on the forehand cross, but she should have changed down the line at some point. The perfect way to do it. That’s going long. And so the set in the end will go to Namio. Not without a struggle. And again, as we’ve been saying, much more difficult work than a 6-1 normally is. But it is that score line after all. It is Naomi Saka halfway to a place in the round of 32 in China. She’s taken the first set of the China Open by six games to one in 30 minutes. Oh, I I call that a uh long drop shot. Oh, what a thirst on those two back ends. So, this to get the break straight back. Oh, what a winner that is. What a way to break. Break down, remember, at 3-2. Yeah. And that’s why just put us under a bit of pressure and she might be the fan’s favorite at the start of this one, but the crowd are growing to love. Alexandra Saznovich who takes us into an unexpected third set here with a really competent high level performance. A set she takes by six games to four. Six nearly seven years since Oh, just ran out of space, didn’t she? Oh, what a ridiculous winner from being so far behind the baseline. Crazy how quickly she’s changing directions. Perfect. Real maturity. How good was that? She could have tried to go for the outright winner, but she just kept pushing her opponent side to side. She does it. Asak nets. And statistically, it might not be the greatest victory of her career, but I think in terms of opponent form, it probably is right up there for Alexandra Saznovich, who takes out Naomi Asaka, ranked 118 places higher than her, 62 in the third, Alex Ggera. Yeah, what a match we’ve witnessed him.

  1. Yeah, Naomi can't take the pressure anymore, feel like whenever the situation is tens she lose her game and she cant think straight. US open finale against Serena when the entire stadium was against her and she still won that mindset is needed again. There is nothing wrong with her game.

  2. Aliaksandra's racket head speed is looking really good, especially with her backhand. Great win for her 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾.

  3. Most players wouldn't stand a chance against today's Sasnovich. Naomi played pretty well. Sasnovich just happened to enter an unreal level.

  4. Osaka was positive in the first set. In yhe second set when she got broken back she just seemed to lose momentum and ideas. She was just hitting the ball back with no variety. Sasnovich played much much better moving the ball around very well. She deserved to win some players just lack variety and unfortunately in this game Osaka was that player.

  5. Wow, a name from tennis’s past, Aliaksandra Sasnovich making a great comeback start against Osaka who is doing a comeback of her own!😊

  6. For those who don't know Sasnovich,,, she's basically a veteran who's a massive underachiever and once was viewed as a possible future top 5 player. But sadly now shes 0-5 in finals, all 250s i think, But weirdly she was 11-0 in ITF finals… was once a future mega star but never did anything other than being a journeywoman. None of that matters here though! My god, she absolutely switched up her strategy early in the 2nd set and ran over Osaka like she was Sabalenka!

  7. Александра просто умница, внезапно (даже для самой себя наверное) у нее включился "режим зверя", начало залетать буквально все и она легко вынесла весьма прилично игравшую до того момента Осаку. Что это было? Чудеса случаются.

  8. Naomi went from giving Sasnovich double bagels to this. What a shame! I've said it, Naomi will never be able to come back to her prime. That era was gone.

  9. WTA tour figuring out again how to make Osaka move again after her improved fitness got her further in a couple summer tournaments.

  10. To see Sasnovich out hit Osaka from the forehand side was a shocker to me.. I hope this win gives her some confidence. I always thought her talents are more than what her results have been throughout the years.

  11. Naomi has such a great game, especially on hard courts, yet seems to lack the fight and grit required to pull out the win when things aren't going her way.

  12. Sasnovich played some truly inspired tennis. She was doing okay in the first, Osaka was just handling her with ease. I'm always pulling for the veterans (she's 31) who plug away and put in the work, but I feared it would be a straightforward match after set #1. Osaka wasn't bothered. Then, when down a break 2-3 in the second she started bullying Naomi. Osaka's heavy, powerful shots were not bothering her at all. In fact, she was giving Osaka a taste of her own pace and tempo. Naomi was on defense most of the time. After she was broken at 5-1 serving for the match, she immediately started Osaka's service game with a drop shot on the baseline. Down 30-15 she played one from BEHIND the baseline, emblematic of how she never stopped pushing, even when Osaka picked up a little momentum. Then, to set up match point, she was on the attack, wrong-footing Osaka for a winner.

    A very deserved win.

  13. I never heard of or watch A. Sasonovich play a match. But what I just witnessed in this match up was a clear statement. She's very skilled. I can't wait to see her play in other tournaments. Thanks for sharing.

  14. oh my god how great. love sassy, detest the dumb dumb dimbleschmidt. go smoke a bowl, Nao: you got SMOKED. hahaha.

  15. For those who don't know. Sasnovich is mainly a doubles player and barely ever participates in singles that's why this win for her is massive.

  16. Sasnovich has totally changed her game !
She didn't play like that before.
    more power,
    and new serve,
    she has become very strong
