日本のボーイズバンド JO1、大平祥生、豆原一成、SRK、BTSとの比較 IJ-POP IAR Rahman

Eyes on me is one of the songs that they think would uh vibe really well with the Indian audience. He had already liked Jaho and he thinks that if if it would be great if they could do a collaboration with that kind of uh EDM kind of vibe, not K-pop or J-pop. They want to build something called J1 Pop. Sushi and Mame, welcome to CNN News8. Thanks so much. So and Mame, you are here in India on a personal trip. You’re of course part of the Japanese boy band J1. What attracted you to India and what is the objective behind your visit? So thinking about uh the India from a global point of view, the Indian audience is very keen on music thanks to Bollywood. Uh so they heard that India India has a lot of opportunities for having fans. Also you know I was researching about your band and and I came to know yall are very big fan of Shah Ruk Khan. Yes. Favorite song. So whenever they searched about India even in real any kind of videos Shah Rukh Khan’s face would always come before anything else. That is why that is how they came to know about him. I have many questions about your music but uh you have a brand new song coming up a new single. Please tell us more about the song and would like to give us a few lines of it as well. Uh the new song is called Hands in My Pocket and they are trying to give the message that possibilities are hidden inside your pockets. Uh the music has a lot of EDM and catchy beats which one can dance to and he has heard that Indians like to do that where they watch music music videos and copy the dance. So he really hopes that the Indian audience likes that as well. Would you like to give a few lines of that song? Hands in my pocket. Hands in the pocket. Poke poke poke in. Uhhuh. Oh, cool. What a lovely song it is. But you know what is the secret behind having this interesting titles of your song like hands in in my pocket or the one you have puppy love puppy love. So he entered this industry music industry at the age of 17 but uh he wanted to tell that I am already a adult and uh he wanted to show his cool uh adult self which is why he made the song popular that I’m not it’s not just popular it’s more than that in him you know you have many songs but which song do you think which song of J1 you think would connect deeply with Indian fans and Eyes on me. Eyes on me is one of the songs that they think would uh vibe really well with the Indian audience and it had been quite viral when it was released and it has a very catchy beat to it as well. Would you please like to give us a few lines of it? Eyes on me. Eyes on me. I eyes on me. Eyes on me. I eyes on me. Eyes on me. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Jump. Jump. Jump. So how cool you know music is huge part of Indian films and many films recently in Japan made huge box office numbers films like Mom Mutu the dancing Maharaja Three idiots RR Bahubali became extremely popular. Are you aware of Indian cinema? He has not watched a full film so far, but he knows a lot of music and uh learned a few dance steps yesterday as well. So that’s that’s something that he’s looking forward to do next time. You know, J1 often gets compared to K-pop acts, especially when it comes to high level performances. and so on. With more J-pop groups now adapting similar staging production and global outreach, do you think the industry J-pop is consciously trying to find its own BTS movement? J-pop with K-pop. While there are a lot of uh opinions, what they as a band are trying to make sure is that they have uh not not K-pop or J-pop. They want to build something called J1 pop which is a new genre just for them unique to them. Uh well BTS uh uh he agrees to what Sha said and in addition to that if they can get their own original feelings out in their own music then they can connect to a lot of people and that will create something entirely new. While you are in India, we have a very big music scene both in the independent space and in the film space. How familiar are you with with with the music of India with Indian musicians, composers like Arman or many more? This time they found a lot of uh a variety of Indian artists uh in India. And uh he had already liked Jaho and he thinks that if if it would be great if they could do a collaboration with that kind of uh EDM kind of vibe. You know Japanese cuisine is very popular here in India. Have you had a chance to try sushi or other Japanese foods in India? Yes. They have not had Japanese food in India yet and they want to try a lot of Indian food. So they don’t want they want to forget the Japan for a while. So is there a Japanese dish that you’d like to recommend to to to our viewers? Japanese food. Yeah. Ah udon is a dish barbecue. BBQ. Japanese barbecue. Yes. A lot of your music has EDM in it. Ah yes. But after EDM the world gets obsessed with Afro beats which is a new trend you see taking over the music scene. Uh so right now uh Afro beats is definitely there but after that they would also like to include a lot of Indian music in their uh performances such that uh since it’s their first time in India they would like to continue adding Indian music. Are you planning to meet any Indian composers while you are here in India? Uh so while they have not planned a meet with a particular someone there are a lot of artists, producers or people related to the music industry who would they would like to meet. So they are definitely hoping to plan it soon. No, you know you were in US as part of your US tour. How did performing uh in front of nonJapanese speaking fans change the way you feel about your music and performances? So this the music is received in every country is different. So they always try to make sure that the music that they select for a certain country uh is suitable for the audience over there. And uh they put a lot of efforts in making sure that it is uh it that the audience can vibe with it. You know J1 your band um started as competitors on a music survival show before becoming this large group. How you built this band while still growing individually? So all everyone in the group is uh on very good terms and since individual individual growth is encouraged in this group setting especially because this group is unique because everyone is growing individually as well. So the more they learn, the more they grow, the more they share. And uh if one person grows, they keep building as a group as well, stronger as a group as well. Well, in the end, I just want to say thank you so much for taking time out and talking to me. And before we go, would you please give us a few lines of a song that perhaps define the spirit of J1? Uh B classic. Yeah. A new song B Classic. Yes. Yes. Yes. B Classic. Yes. And why do you think Indian fans should listen to it? which is a classic known to everyone all over the world and uh it is very it is rare for a J-pop band to have a music sample from there. So they definitely want Indians to listen to it. [Music] Thank you so much for your time and all the best. Thank you so much. And thanks a lot.
