SHOGO）The song that got me into K-POP is CALL ME BABY (EXO). SHOGO）It was EXO that got me into K-POP, SHOGO）and I fell in love with KAI’s dance at first sight. ADACHI）Your dance is also amazing. SHOGO）I really started out admiring them too. SHOGO）I especially love the choreography to CALL ME BABY. ADACHI）You still remember it. SHOGO）I danced to it a lot. ADACHI）The music video was also done in one take, you know. SHOGO）That’s so cool, isn’t it? SHOGO）I even danced to it when I was auditioning. SHOGO）So I thought if I was going to introduce a song, it had to be CALL ME BABY. ADACHI）Does listening to this song take you back to your roots? SHOGO）It really does. SHOGO）It takes me back to the time when I was always watching the music video. ADACHI）So, you love EXO, and you also love their ballads, as far as I’ve heard. ADACHI）What songs do you like? SHOGO）I love EXO’s ballads, and one of them is Baby, Don’t Cry (EXO). ADACHI）It’s a good song, isn’t it? SHOGO）Of course it’s good. SHOGO）It’s a really good song, and it reminds me of my time as a trainee. SHOGO）I hear it not as BEAST’s voices, but the voices of each of the people who were trainees with me at the time, for each part. SHOGO）That’s what’s great about it, when I listen to it now. It’s a song that lingers in my memories. SHOGO）This is the first song for which we had a team. ADACHI）A team of trainees who practice together. SHOGO）We came up with the structure ourselves, and created the choreography. ADACHI）Is the choreography completely different? SHOGO）The choreography is different too. I think it was probably I who did it. SHOGO）We prepared chairs and stuff, put ribbons on the chairs, and learned how to present it. ADACHI）I see, so it was a song that taught you a lot in terms of performance as well. SHOGO）And the song is really good. It has a sense of transience. ADACHI）BEAST are really amazing, aren’t they? SHOGO）They’re amazing! ADACHI）You looked up this song for me earlier, and it was in 2016, the year I debuted. ADACHI）They were my seniors in the agency, so it’s a group I love. ADACHI）Would you like to go back to that time? If you could go back and give yourself some advice, what would you say? SHOGO）I do feel like I want to go back, actually. SHOGO）It was hard, but when I think about it now, I’m actually quite envious of the time, environment, and energy we had to practice endlessly, SHOGO）because we don’t have those anymore. ADACHI）INI’s Tajima came to X, so we can do the live broadcast… ADACHI）Wait, hold on! ADACHI）I want to see Shogo dancing on the water some day. Thank you. SHOGO）I want to do it someday. SHOGO）I think you brought him over once when I was in the practice room once and we met. ADACHI）That’s right, something like that happened. YUTA came by – so nostalgic! SHOGO）It really is. ADACHI）My Kick It promotions overlapped back then. SHOGO）I see. ADACHI）Artists sometimes pre-record performances, right? ADACHI）I remember that even though I wasn’t on stage, I was allowed to sit down and watch the whole rehearsal and stuff. ADACHI）It’s pretty good, isn’t it? I liked the choreography, or rather the concept, too. SHOGO）I also really like SHA LA LA. ADACHI）Wow, that’s out of nowhere. Thank you! ADACHI）Now that you’ve debuted, do you feel like you’re getting closer to the groups you admire, like your idol seniors NCT? SHOGO）No, I’m a person who is never satisfied, so I don’t feel like I’m getting any closer at all. ADACHI）I love that about you – that mindset. SHOGO）It’s tough holding onto it, though!
