We asked Yuki Tsunoda a secret gamer, about his gaming history! Do you remember the very first game you ever played? Monster Hunter Portable 3rd. Oh, same age as me, that’s exactly what I played too! I really struggled with Arzuros back then. That’s like super early in the game! That’s intense! Is there a game you’ve played the most in your life? Apex Legends, for sure. Did you play a lot? Yeah, during the COVID lockdowns in the UK. I was living alone, so I played with friends online. What rank did you reach? Platinum. Oh wow, that’s legit! Back then, Platinum players were pretty strong, right? Yeah, but every time I started to improve, the racing season would start again. You know, you go away for two weeks and come back rusty. With FPS games, you really have to stay sharp, especially with aim. So every time I came back, my aim sucked again. Then I’d practice, get better, and back to racing. It was a never-ending loop, so I kinda drifted away from gaming. That’s such an FPS gamer thing to say.You take a break and your aim just resets. Is there a game you wish you could forget and play all over again? Hmm, maybe none actually. I mostly play shooters, lots of games where you just shoot stuff. So, competitive games then? Yeah. Makes sense as an athlete, you probably crave competition. Thinking about it… I’d love to see how far I could go in Mario Kart using only my real driving skills. So are good Mario Kart players actually fast racers in real life? I’m confident I am! There might be some connection. Then we’ve gotta race in Mario Kart someday. Deal!
