大谷翔平が打線を牽引!ドジャースがブルワーズを5-1で撃破しNLCS第2戦を制す。ペドロ・マルティネスもチームの完成度を絶賛。

The Fall Classic. Welcome inside American Family Field. This is MLB The Closer, presented by Genesis Motor America. We thought we saw everything with Blake Snell last night. And then for the first time in 55 career starts, Yamamoto throws a complete game, but we got to talk to the bat. There was a questionable double play last night and then he answered it with a home run. Two for five with a home run the second inning. Teascar Hernandez is here. But Teascar, I got to ask about the pitcher. What did we see from Yamamoto this evening? I mean, it’s just amazing. Um, he’s been doing that. I That’s nothing new for us and for anybody. He just, uh, he’s just doing it in the postseason now. Uh, he’s a superstar. He’s been showing us in last year. Uh he was struggling uh last year at the beginning but then he settled in and then just became Jamamoto the the same guy the pitch in Japan the windows MVP inside is just uh showing it now I need to ask you what is it about you guys and the road you guys seem to be almost as comfortable as you are at home when when you’re playing. What is it about this team that seems to be so relaxed on the road at this time now? It’s 4 and0 on the road against two pretty good teams. Describe that. Yeah, it just uh we we just trying to go there uh do our jobs. Uh not thinking about uh the opposite team or the fans or the field. Um just trying to go there, put pressure uh early in the game. uh not thinking about what pressures can the the fans can bring or the other teams. Um it just you know trying to do our job, trying to concentrate and execute our plans and just go from there. Teao, what’s going on? This is Grandandy. Congratulations again on waking up game two here. We talked about the pitching, but I’m going to switch it up and go to the offense starting at the bottom of the lineup. 67 89 with you all down there. Seven hits, three runs, and the sixth, seventh, and eighth inning of this game is where you score runs. What’s up with you in the bottom of the lineup and the late inning games with this offense? It just now we have everybody healthy. Um, we had a pretty good lineup. We know that we had a pretty good starting pitcher. Uh, like you mentioned, uh, but our lineup is just getting deeper and deeper. Uh, when everybody’s healthy, uh, that’s the thing we can do. uh even though uh the first uh four hitters uh haven’t do the the best that they they can do. Uh but it’s is it’s there. Um but we all trying uh to get good at bats, get on base for the next guy and just keep the the line moving. Teao, earlier I heard you call Pedro uh your daddy. I just want to remind you that you’re his daddy. Just make just make sure we get that right. You know who’s I know. I know. I know. I know. tell you, it hasn’t been any time recent that a team has won back-to-back World Series. The last opportunity was the Phillies in 08 and09. Now, I know it’s something that you’re not supposed to talk about, but it’s in the back of your mind. No doubt about it. How important is it to go out there and be the first team in I don’t know 25 years or so to win back-to-back World Series? You know, we we don’t we don’t think about that uh every day, but that’s that was our goal. Our goal was to to get back uh to the playoffs, trying to get back to the to the World Series and just bring another championship to LA. Uh we all know it’s it’s not going to be easy. It’s not easy. Uh that’s why it’s it haven’t been done in a while. But that’s the the last call. But we just going to take uh one one game at a time and then just keep going. [Music] Amen. Amen. The Oscar, there is no player in Major League Baseball the last two postseasons with more RBI’s and more home runs than you. Stay hot and we’ll see you in Los Angeles, pal. Appreciate it. Thank you. Amen. Amen. Good night, guys. Have a good one. All right. Pedro translate. What do you say? Well, I just wish him uh blessings and and to stay healthy, all of them. And I also asked him to just say something for the Dominican Republic and the people watching in his hometown. And he said that he loves them a lot. uh continue supporting and uh that he wishes everybody the best and continue to support the Dodgers that they’re looking forward to go to the to the World Series. Well, they seem to be on their way behind another sterling pitching performance from the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Brewers have not had a an at bat with a runner in scoring position against a Los Angeles Dodgers starter. They’ve led this series for 11 minutes. two pitchers in back-to-back games go eight plus innings. We haven’t seen that since 2016. It was Bumgardner and Quato. So, I’m going to start with you, Pedro. What are we watching right now? Because I don’t think I’ve ever seen this. In fact, I know we’ve never seen them. Well, what I’m watching here is a it’s a a very complete Dodger unit that’s out there with a mission. And just like I was talking today in an interview, I said, for this team. Regardless of all the hype, all the money, and all the things that people want to really bring out about the Dodgers, they understand what they’re into. They understand their business. They put everything aside. You know, the start in Hollywood, you know, the fame, everything, you know, where they’re from and they come to the field to play. That says a lot about the character that they have in that clubhouse and how those guys behave. They don’t really pay attention to anything else but the game because this team, the Milwaukee Brewers, is a really good team. So was the Philadelphia Phillies and we have seen them just take over in in tight games in any situation, playing outstanding defense. That says a lot about how professional those guys are in the clubhouse and that goes from top to bottom. Before the game, Jim, you talked about the importance of not chasing Yamamoto pitches. 111 pitches, 81 strikes, and he got those guys chasing all night long. Definitely. And then we saw the first pitch of the game, their game plan to stay aggressive on the fast ball. After that, Yamamoto made the adjustment. And we always talk about it. Pitching can neutralize a good offense. If a pitcher’s throwing strike one and he’s dotting it, not just throwing meat, you know, meatballs over the middle of the plate and then he can get you to chase with his off speed, he’s going to dominate. We’ve seen that tonight. We’re talking about a team that doesn’t chase much, but they didn’t put anything and play hard after that first inning cuz he was dominating. Strike one, never in the same zone. Pitching up, pitching down, the big slow curveball and that pitch right there. That split finger is devastating. And when you get that going against a team that is struggling, they really are. I mean, even the last two, they scored some runs early and then they just fall off. It happened tonight. They scored in the first and there’s nothing going on. And when you have a pitcher that can go out there, especially after a performance like Blake Snail, and make them look just as I I guess normal, the average Joe style Jimmy, it’s a bad combination. Let me tell you something. I I don’t think they’re struggling really. I think the Milwaukee Brewers were trying were trying to do what they normally do. What they ran into is great pitching. And Jamamoto tonight was outstanding. His stuff was electric. And that’s probably why he was able to pinpoint control the entire game with his fast ball and then when he needed to, he ran to the slow breaking ball which which is a surprise to me that he was that he was in such a command and also the wipe out split that we saw strike out the last hitter. I I think they have been pitched so well that it makes them look like they’re struggling, but I don’t think they are. They just were overmatched by Blake Snail and and Yamamoto. And if we would have come in today’s game and say that the Dodgers one through three hitters were two for 13 with 4Ks. Peralta did his thing, but the bats at the bottom of the lineup, you mentioned it today, Oscar, boy were they alive. It’s amazing that we have these MVPs at the top of the lineup that still haven’t really got it going. They’ve got a couple hits here, couple hits there, but even Otani single to score a run there. You can see the excitement on his face because they’re trying to go ahead and know the things that they can deliver. But as Tay Oscar mentioned, their lineup is so deep and even after you get through one through three half and face them, you can’t take a breath because the rest of the lineup can hurt you. The Hernandez brothers can get you. Even Pi is at the bottom getting the bunt down, which was huge in this time of game, at this time of the year. executing on all different areas. Otani with a stolen base, a sacrifice bunt, homers from Tay Oscar, homers from Max Muny. Name a guy, everyone in this lineup can hurt you at any time. And they’ve been doing that at bats with runners in scoring position in this series. Dodgers 21, Brewers one. That’s why the Dodgers have now won 17 of their last
