【驚きが止まらない】初公開の超最新品種が目白押し!日本、フランス、オランダ!一般公開していない「フラワートライアルジャパン2025」に公式潜入【ハクサングループ会場・H&Lプランテーション会場編】
Hello everyone! This is Mikami Masashi’s Hobby is Gardening Channel. Thank you for watching! Well, we’re back again this year, at the Flower Trial Japan 2025 venue. This year, Flower Trial Japan is being held at various venues. It’s an event that only those involved can enter, a gardening event, because it ‘s an amazing event where new products and new varieties of plants are all gathered together to be announced . I’ve been participating since last year, and I ‘ve posted another video about last year, so please take a look in the description for more details. We’re back again this year, and this time the venue is the Hakusan Exhibition, at Hakusan’s venue. I’ve posted another video of a different venue, and that’s also in the description, so please take a look. What kind of plants are there here? Let ‘s get started ! Of course, our guide around the venue will be Hakusan, and the Flower Trial Japan Executive Committee Chairman. : It’s Fujiwara-san, nice to meet you. We’ve been waiting for you. I’m back. In the first video, I gave my opening greetings, and after the loop, we’re now on to the second video. Thank you for making it this far. It was like this last year too, and I’m happy. So, what kind of venue is this? This is the Hakusan venue, and it ‘s a soccer field. It’s a soccer field, after all. It’s one whole surface, almost all the way to the goal over there. It’s expanded compared to last year. That’s right . There are so many more exhibits than last year, and the number of exhibitors has also increased this time. Yes, it feels like we’ll soon be using up the entire soccer field, which is great. That means there are so many new things and everyone is excited. That’s right, and of course there will be many things being shown for the first time this year, so I’m looking forward to it. Let’s get started. We are a company that develops varieties, and Hakusan itself develops varieties, but let me start by introducing the PW brand. It ‘s not just Proven Winners Hakusan, there are many breeders and crossbreeders all over the world, and the varieties they produce are still in the early stages of being released . There are around 20 teams from around the world that participate in PW , and Hakusan is one of them, and they all test these varieties at the same time . The environments around the world are all different, and the climates are completely different, so they test in all kinds of climates to see if it would be good in America or here, and so on. Even if it’s great in Germany, the rainy season in Japan is a bit harsh, and so on, so we select only the best varieties for Japanese people and release them to the world, and even within PW, we compare it to the countries that sell it in. 、 宮城県の北端から南端まで、東北本線・陸羽東線を乗り継いで 旅をしてきました。 English : There are many countries that have not yet done this, but they select the varieties that are best suited to each area. It becomes an international brand of plants . And in order to obtain this, there are incredibly difficult tests, so it is amazing every year and I am so excited . If you count them all here, there are nearly 700 varieties, and I would like to run it for 24 hours. Yes, it will be difficult for those looking at it, but among them, I would like to introduce some of the best ones that will be making their first public appearance. First of all, I will be surprised. It says “premiere ” so what does that mean? This is the first public appearance in Japan. First public appearance in Japan. Yes, it says “prototype.” The release date for this has not been decided yet, but we are currently preparing it with the hope that if everything goes smoothly, we will be able to release it in the fall of 2026. This is really the first public appearance in Japan, and you can see it now. The sales date has not been decided yet. It is amazing , is this an astilbe? Yes, you’re kidding, right ? This is it ? This is it ? That’s right. What is the color of these leaves? They are generally green. Yes, normal astilbe is green, but what about the flowers? White and pink, yes, yes, yes, they’re gentle pale colors, and then the flowers are these sort of cool flowers with a slightly purple tinge, they bloom to match the leaves perfectly, right? That’s right, when the flowers bloom they make quite a statement, they bloom beautifully , and I’ve created another amazing one, the cool name Dark Side of the Moon, it’s like the name of a stage play, I hear it has a story to it , normally astilbe blooms in May, June, or July, but this variety blooms in the same way, but because the leaves are so beautiful, it looks great at other times too, right? Even when it’s not flowering, astilbe has colorful leaves, so it’s best to grow it in partial shade or avoid too much direct sunlight, right? That’s right, so it was a bit delicate in that respect, but I never thought… Yes, this one has been improved so that it is very resistant to leaf burn even when exposed to direct sunlight, yes The leaves are certainly strong. I would recommend partial shade, but recently in Japan, in summer, especially in July, there is a lot of direct sunlight, so partial shade is no longer an option. It’s not always in an environment where it can’t be used , so I think it has become quite strong in such places. It is also cold-resistant down to -30°C and has become strong in summer heat, so does that mean it can really be grown anywhere? Yes, the thing to be careful about is to avoid dryness, especially until the roots have taken hold. Astilbe likes slightly wet environments, so that’s about it. Make sure to water it well. This astilbe is truly the star of the garden, and it would also be good to grow it in clusters. What a wonderful surprise ! What’s next? Next up is this one, which I noticed last year, can I just say this briefly ? If you watch the video from last year, you’ll probably remember this one, but this is a slightly different plant, a plant about this size, and it’s a succulent, so it’s originally a succulent, but a new variety of sedum has been released, and it ‘s called Mocoland, Mocoland. Everyone, I was really excited about this sedum, so it’s a succulent, but it’s fluffy. Yes, this is the state? I can’t hold it anymore, but this, this really does create a fluffy island. I was skeptical, thinking it was a lie, but it’s true. It’s like last year’s plants really have become a fluffy land. You can grow this in your garden, can you tell it’s a succulent? It’s just one plant. It’s a succulent, and it ‘s incredibly strong against heat and cold. Now it’s available, you can buy it now. Yay! Last year’s excitement is now within our reach. The things we announced here will be available to buy in a year’s time, so the things we’re telling you about now will also be coming soon. Sorry, I got a little off topic . Next is this, too, Mikami-san. I remember this a little bit, but it’s also like that, right? Yes, from before. PW also has a video of me visiting his garden , and there’s an unnamed hibiscus there. Normally, it’s weak to the cold, but this hibiscus can tolerate the cold. How many degrees below zero ? About -30. No, that’s crazy, isn’t it? It’s overturning conventional wisdom about plants. This is a new variety, and it’s already on sale. Then new ones like these bright red ones with black leaves are starting to appear, and here’s one that’s being shown for the first time. It has a slightly different feel to it, does n’t it? Is it low? This is also the first time it’s being shown, and we’re working hard to get it ready so that everyone can get their hands on it next autumn. Also, since it’s the first time it’s being shown in Japan, the original varieties will grow quite large. They’ll grow tall, won’t they? They’ll grow up to about our shoulders, which is quite tall ? They grow so big that when you do landscaping, they can be very impressive, and you can grow beautiful hibiscus with lots of branches growing out from the bottom, but they’re a little too big for the average family. It’s true that compactness is what’s wanted these days. So can they be made really small and compact? They’re made small so that lots of branches grow out from the bottom. : It certainly does seem to have a lot of leaves, so does that mean they’re the same strength? They’re the same strength. Heat tolerance MAX, heat tolerance level 5. It can be planted anywhere. It can withstand the heat in Japan right now. It ‘s really hot in Japan right now, but it ‘s fine at that temperature. Hibiscus. You have to be careful of the cold in winter, but it seems to be able to withstand temperatures down to -30 degrees . And anyway, it gets compact. Yes , it blooms in lots of flowers. Thank you, it’s amazing, it’s very moving. There are many different types. Yes , let’s get started. These hydrangeas include Lagrangea, but that’s right. Are there any other ones? Is this another new series? No way ? A new hydrangea series? We’re making them. They’re beautiful. Yes, this is a Summer medley pale soap . It’s like a soap bubble. It’s certainly a fantastical variety, with rainbow-like colors, but the colors are rainbow-like. What’s amazing about it? But that’s not the only thing that’s amazing. What is the greatest feature of this variety? I’m amazed every time. I’m not amazed anymore. It’s like a TV shopping channel. I was surprised to hear that Lagrangea blooms from the sides and not just the tip . But when do you prune regular hydrangeas? If you don’t cut them by the end of July, before August of the previous year, flower buds will form. That’s normal for hydrangeas, but this time with the Summer Medley series, I did the forbidden winter pruning, which is something you shouldn’t do. Does it bloom on new branches? What do you mean it blooms from new branches too? So it blooms on both the old and new branches, so it blooms on both old and new branches. Amazing. What is it, blooming on both old and new branches? This one is the forbidden winter pruning, so I’m sorry to say that on December 20th I cut off all the buds that had formed. This one was cut by the end of July as per the manual as usual, and normally autumn is over so no buds should have appeared, but now that June 12th has come around it looks almost the same as usual . Wow, amazing. It’s fine to say that it was cut by the end of July in the summer , but it’s still hot in the summer and it’s hard for us to work, so I wanted to leave it as long as possible since it’s still blooming. Because of this, it’s very easy to work with in winter when the branches are visible, and there’s one more thing that’s actually a bit unique about it . With normal hydrangeas, the flowers only bloom at the very tip of the branch, but this one has Lagrangea growing out from the side, which really shocked me. Yes, yes, yes, so does that mean it’s this way too? Lagrangea also hangs down like this, so it looks more like, how can I put it, like, pompom-pompom. This one looks more like a normal hydrangea, and it grows out like this, but the flowers are coming out from the side as well, so it’s covered in flowers and you can’t even see the leaves, so it’s a bit tall. 、 … A slightly different take on creeping time ground cover It’s an improved version of the regular Creeping Thyme Longicaulis, and yes, I do use it. Its flowering season is around April to May, yes, in the spring. This one blooms in June or July, which is quite early summer, when there aren’t many summer flowers, which is a blessing. But in April, there are moss phlox and other plants, so it blooms profusely as ground cover, so I think that something that blooms profusely at a time other than that would be extremely valuable, and portulaca is about the only one I know of. When it comes to summer ground cover, I’d be happy if more people had that option. And there are even more, as you’d expect, they’re big, there’s a huge difference, the regular, regular variety and the new PW called Saint Grade, which may be about three times the size . So can you really enjoy it as a flower? Well, Creeping Thyme really does have beautiful flowers that bloom in a big way, and because they’re so big, they can grow so long that the leaves are no longer visible. Of course, it’s an evergreen perennial, so it looks really cool in the winter, and it turns a little colorful, which is great. It’s a plant with excellent cost performance, so you can enjoy it every year, of course. Can I smell it a little? Of course, you can enjoy the nice scent. The leaves are big too . The leaves are a little bigger overall, so it seems to make it easier to use as ground cover. It’s very strong, has a maximum heat tolerance of level 5. Thank you. I’m amazed at how it’s blooming continuously . Let’s go again. Is this a caladium? What is your impression of a caladium ? When growing it? Well, I’m sure you’ve eliminated all the things you need to be careful of . Yes, the leaves are a little prone to sunburn. They seem to dry out and become frizzy. I don’t think you can touch them that way. They’re thick, but not this thick . Normally the leaves get thicker, so is this a caladium? It’s a caladium. It doesn’t have this color, and it’s a little more succulent. It actually seems quite delicate. It can withstand the heat, but you have to be careful with the sunlight. Among the plants in Satoi Hills, there are some that you need to be careful of. These plants are actually located in our company in Aichi Prefecture, and there So this is the plant after testing it in direct sunlight to see what would happen. Was it in direct sunlight ? Of course, it’s fine in partial shade or places like that like before, but it’s also fine in places that get a little more sunlight. Since it’s a houseplant, that means you can really grow it like in Malaysia, right? It can be grown outside. It’s heart to heart, heart to heart, after all. The leaves are heart to heart . It feels like heart to heart love . What a lovely name. Up until now, there have been a lot of Mocoland and things like that, but suddenly it’s become romantic . It’s very diverse, the naming is lovely too. This color, I’ve never seen a caladium before, so that’s amazing. At first glance, you would think the leaves are like a Rex begonia or something like that. The stem is the same, isn’t it? It looks cool . The petiole is colored. So, let’s continue with the colored leaves . Isn’t it an ipomea? Yes, it’s a sweet potato. That’s right. Is Ipomea new? Ipomea has been improved as a breed for a long time , and as you know, the first one is a sweet potato. Sweet potatoes have a lot of nutrients that go to the roots, making them tasty, but this one is for ornamental purposes, so the nutrients go to the top, so it has a lot of leaves. That’s right, it has lots of leaves. We’ve actually been developing the first one for a long time, but we had a lot of trouble. In the past, the internodes, the leaves between the leaves, the nodes, got really long, so these were short, and they got long and stretched out because they grow like creepers . So when we planted it in a container, it would tend to grow limply , but we’ve tightened it up so that it will bloom lushly even in a container, and that’s what we call Molina. りもりもリナです。 English: This time it was easy to understand Mori Mori Morina! It’s Mori Mori Morina . It’s the Morina series, and it ‘s really Mori Mori. That’s right , this one is called a spiral, and if there’s a net or something, the sweet potatoes will climb up and cling to it, right? That’s right, they will climb up naturally, but have you actually made it to climb up in an arch? Can you reach the top with an arch? Yes, yes, I’d like you to take a look at the dates. I planted them on a lovely day in July, on Tanabata, and guess what? What? This much at the end of July ? Yes, it climbed, and in a little over a month in August it reached the top and connected, there’s no reason not to do it , arches take time, no matter which arch you make it doesn’t reach the top, and sometimes winter comes, so you can reach it in just summer, it’s quite fast, and even in the scorching heat of midsummer it ‘s like that here, it can be done, I rather love the heat, so I see, I was a little surprised, even we didn’t think it would be this fast, I was surprised , but when I tried it, it worked. I wanted to show everyone this one, so I showed it to you. It’s called Key Lime, and it’s a nice, cool color, but it’s refreshing. The other one is called Brownie, and it’s a little brownish. This one has already been confirmed for release, and I can’t wait for spring 2026. So next year I’ll try making an arch. That’s right, thank you. Like the caladium I mentioned earlier, I would like everyone to try gardening by making more and more use of these kinds of leaves, and not overdoing it too much. Thank you very much. I am also looking forward to next year, and I hope everyone will look forward to seeing what varieties will come out . However, there is a fierce battle for these, and they tend to sell out quickly once they are released . That’s right, especially the new varieties that everyone wants. If you search the website PW, there are also sites that will tell you which stores sell them. I will put that in the description section so please check it out, everyone. Thank you, but it doesn’t end here. Please join Fujiwara-san after this . There will be more booths, so let’s go. Next up is from the Netherlands. Hello, it’s nice to meet you again. They came from the Netherlands again this time . This is their first public showing. As I mentioned in PW earlier, this was their first public showing in Japan until now, but this is their world premiere. This year is also their world premiere. That just goes to show how much they are thinking about Japan. Last year everyone had a blue cyclamen, right? Is this another world premiere cyclamen? Up until now, all the cyclamens have had amazing flower patterns or wonderful fragrances, and finally last year they released a blue cyclamen, which was a surprise, but they are so-called native cyclamen. It’s the original species. The cyclamen that was originally planted. It’s said that there are actually over 20 different types of wild cyclamen . What we normally call cyclamen today is just one of those 20 or so species. And it seems that most cyclamen are actually one of those species, and they ‘ve been extensively bred . So, ordinary cyclamen have beautiful flowers, lots of patterns, and lots of nice fragrances. There are many varieties, but they have one weakness, or so I guess. They can only tolerate temperatures up to about 5 degrees Celsius. If it gets colder than that, they can get damaged by frost and ca n’t survive the winter. But the original cyclamen that I’m introducing today can withstand temperatures of about -15 to -20 degrees Celsius. And because they’re original species, these are actually the world’s first F1 seeds of original cyclamen. Is that so? Yes , they’ve been fixed. Yes , what’s amazing about them is the incredible power of F1. So , there’s a father and a mother, right? Yes, when you cross these offspring, the offspring, just like our own, are all different, with all different personalities. So , it’s fun to choose and say, “This one is cute, this one is nice,” but when it comes to producing them, it’s difficult because you can’t mass produce the same ones. But these are F1, so they can all be the same, and they can be produced stably and identically. This is the first time in the world that this has been achieved using a different original species of cyclamen. So, what ‘s amazing about this is that it increases production efficiency to an extent that is incomparable to anything before . And when efficiency increases, they become very accessible to everyone, available in many places, and at a very affordable price. I hope that this will make it easier for people who thought wild cyclamen were a little difficult to get their hands on for the first time, and that it will inspire them to try out other fun wild cyclamen, which will broaden their horizons. There are two varieties, and this Avalon series is what is known as a Hederifolium species. Hederi means leaves that look like Hedera, and if you look at it, you’ll see that it has leaves that look like Hedera . These are also very strong and robust wild cyclamen, and can survive for decades. In fact, I think that these plants will be a little stronger when they are sold, but if they survive the winter while they are on sale , they will actually bloom from the flowers the following autumn, around September. Wild species often bloom from the flowers, and that’s how it happens often. The leaves appear after the flowers bloom, which is another way of enjoying wild species, and it’s wonderful, and it’s also nice and gentle . Next up is the Elysion series, and this is a species of cyclamenna called Koumu. It ‘s another original species, and the leaves are completely different. This one is also a very strong variety, and the leaf shape is a little different too. Different. Completely different. This one blooms in autumn, and this one blooms in the middle of winter. They bloom at different times. Yes, they start blooming around December, and then continue to bloom in January or February, when there are the fewest flowers, like this, even in the snow. But they bloom like this, and that’s why you can enjoy a relay of flowers . That’s right, it’s great , I’m impressed. Finally, the time has come when we can enjoy varieties with fixed original species. Until now, many enthusiasts have enjoyed trying different varieties one by one, but now we’re entering an era where we can choose with confidence that this is the one for us . I really want to create something like this, and it’s been so long since we’ve been able to announce it. Yes, it took eight years to create the first variety, and during those eight years we’ve been creating the next variety, and … It’s the first time they’ve been shown in Japan, and they chose Japan, so I’m really happy. There have been blue cyclamen before, but unlike before, this is the world’s first F1, so they’re all fixed to the same color, which means they’re cheap and easy to get hold of. And last year we were saying we were looking forward to next year, and I think they’ll soon be on the shelves, so maybe you’ll be able to find them. When this was uploaded, everyone, please watch the video. After that, the flower trial was held, and nearly 1,000 to 2,000 people came, and it was all professionals who came, and the professionals voted on which variety they thought was the most revolutionary, or that they thought would have the biggest impact in the future. As you said , one of these will be chosen as the grand prize winner, and this was last year’s winner. Yay, this is the best one for the future, congratulations on the gold, this was chosen as number one, it’s really amazing, it’s amazing, it ‘s not just about the color, it’s easy to grow and enjoyable, it’s all there, you’ve created it, yes, this is the first blue, so maybe in a few years we’ll look back and realize that this was the first, it means that there wasn’t one before, I’m sure there will be many different ones in the future, so I’m looking forward to it, you said you’re making them now, yes, thank you, so which one should I introduce to you? I’ve seen this one so many times, but I’m always surprised, like, ” What ?” I’ve grown to like it so much that I can explain it , but my nose is pointing up. First of all, yes, with normal cyclamentos, it’s the same with this blue, but it’s like this . In fact, the petals are curved back and point downwards. They’re already pointing upwards, so they generally bloom like flowers, and then there’s this. I’ve heard this about the petals so many times, why are they like this? We Japanese love distinctive flowers . 10 years ago, we started growing something completely different. This has been released. It’s a really distinctive flower, and there are many flowers, but they ‘re very gentle. The shelf life is very important, it’s very long. Check Dragon won gold at the Flower Trial Awards last year, but this was the top choice of industry professionals in 2023, and it was unveiled for the first time in the world. り出しています。また若者たちの働く場でもあります。 English: It also won the Flower of the Year award, which is a surprise every year . Even though I see it, I’m always amazed. I think it will finally be easier to get my hands on this year, as it sells out so quickly. So , I’d like to introduce it to you again. I definitely recommend it. Everyone, try to find the illusion. It’s like a treasure hunt. They are really making this illusion again, so what more illusions will there be? New illusions are coming. New illusions are coming? I’m looking forward to it. They really do know how to make this flower shape in their laboratory, so I’m looking forward to it again at Flower Trial Japan , whether it’s next year or the year after. And what else? Up until now, I’ve been introducing cyclamens, but there are also gerberas, so there are many other things besides cyclamens. Did you come here to see the sights? That’s right, Gothia, Gothia, yes. It’s the coming season, and it’s really great for Christmas and such, but I see. It’s in winter mode with the cyclamen, so it’s perfect for Christmas, it’s nice, it suits it, it changes, so does it gradually get better in color? The fruit grows faster in the second year and the color develops quickly, so is this also a new variety? A world first, this one too? This one too? Double, please explain in more detail. Up until now, of course there have been Gotheria like this before, but they weren’t all F1 so there was a bit of variation, and when it comes to this one, it’s F1 so… it grows quickly, so the production period is completely different, it ‘s fast, which is why it’s good to find one right from the first year, it’s full of good things , the production period for normal Gotherias like this varies depending on the variety, but it usually takes about a year and a half to be made, but this one can be made in about 10 months, so productivity will increase, it will be easier to supply, and most importantly, it will be easier for everyone to get their hands on it, and it’s amazing that for the first time, a variety that allows you to enjoy such a variety of colors will be fixed and available, like this in autumn and winter Coloured cyclamen are rare plants and are indispensable for viewing. They are already being used in container plantings and I think they are set to become a very popular standard in the future . Gotheria is different to cyclamen but goes perfectly with it and is a world first. Will this be available next year as well? I think there will be a few this year as well, but the numbers are still very small and I think they will start to be distributed in earnest from next year. Let’s all enjoy these world firsts. First of all, please look for blue cyclamen , and these will also be available in increasing numbers so please look forward to them . Thank you! And once again, we are in Europe and this time we have come all the way from France . What’s more, the president this year is Mr Morel, thank you very much, thank you very much , very good, wonderful. So, to introduce you, yes, from here on we will introduce Bastien, who has lived in Japan. Do you speak Japanese? I can do a little bit, thank you , no, not a little bit, it’s quite thin, thank you very much. Let me introduce myself, my name is Bastian and I’m in charge of Japan at Morel. Thank you, it’s very thin. So, first of all, this is a new variety that hasn’t been listed in the catalogue yet, right away. Yes , Victoria Salmon. What’s unusual about it is the red frills and the slightly darker petals . It ‘s really beautiful, really. The bottom is also a little darker. Has this been released yet? It’s just a little trial, when is it scheduled to be released? The quantity will increase little by little every year from now, and once it’s listed in the catalogue, I’ll probably get a more serious collection. This is really beautiful . The medium-flowered type, which seems to represent the Japanese spirit, has even larger petals when used in a garden, so it’s a bit more impressive than the small-flowered type. That’s right , because it’s a medium-flowered type, it can really become the main focus. So it can be used in a garden, right? Well, Victoria varieties are quite strong, aren’t they? I guess that’s its nature. The thick petals mean that it’s strong. Thank you . Now, next is this There is the Tuxedo that I introduced last year , a cool cyclamen, or is it something else? Yes, next to it is a new one called Rosy Glow, a new species, this time bred with Japanese people in mind, is it a cyclamen made for Japan? Yes, for the Japanese, I’m happy.Last year, Morel created a cyclamen that really followed the delicate Japanese spirit, and I remember that well, of course.I was also the editor, so he is very conscious of that, yes, he has been doing this for a while, but the flower color is inspired by cherry blossoms, it is inspired by the color of cherry blossoms, it is really pale pink, I am so happy, it is beautiful, I can see the transparent color too, yes , what are its characteristics?Aside from the color of the petals, the leaves are very dark, it is definitely a deep green, or rather a green with a bluish tinge, it does have a slightly bluish tinge, it has a glossy feel to it, and the contrast is beautiful, it would be good to match it with the tuxedo, which really shines This one has silver leaf, right? That’s right. It gives a formal impression like a tuxedo. The red is against the whitish pink, and this one has a darker leaf color. So in a sense they’re the opposite? Yes, the white and green parts of the leaves are reversed, right? So that ‘s why they go really well together when planted together. Wow, that’s lovely. It’s also recommended for planting in containers, isn’t it? That’s what this one is like too . Yes, hmm, Rosy Glow. When did this start? Also, is this the first time in Japan ? Yes, I’m surprised too, it’s the first time it’s been shown publicly. The producers, top farmers, are currently testing it and are now showing it to the public, saying, “Oh, so this is how it turned out .” Next year, the quantity will increase somewhat, although it’s still limited, thank you . I look forward to getting some. And this is leafy. The word for leaf in English is “leaf.” Yes, this is a species called Hederifolium. It’s a native species, isn’t it? Yes, it has quite a distinctive leaf, so it’s named Leafy . The leaves are beautiful, so it’s Leafy. It has a beautiful silver hue. It’s been selectively bred, but it’s producing less. So it’s strong, right? It can withstand temperatures as low as -15 degrees and blooms again every year. It’s a perennial, so you can enjoy it every year, from August to November, and it blooms for a long time, which is great, which means the leaves are beautiful even when the flowers aren’t blooming. The name cyclamen comes from this cycle, the thing that spins around. It’s a native species, and it’s fascinating to see it , and it’s a diverse species. That’s right, that’s what cyclamen is actually said to do. In fact, it’s said that this cycle is where the name comes from, it spins around just like a bracken. That’s right, with most species it does have a cycle, and this is beautiful too. Next year the flowers will come up earlier, that’s how it is in nature, right? So you can enjoy the flowers a little earlier, from August, and you can enjoy them from summer, thank you. And I think it was on the back too, that’s right, it’s the Koum, the name Kuumi is cute From Koum to Kuumi, Koumu is right, so what are the characteristics of this one? Koumu is also rounder than Hederifolium, and as for the leaves, the leaves are round, aren’t they? That’s a characteristic, but they also have various patterns . This one also has leaves like this, there are various leaves , there are many, it’s wonderful, so these leaves have various leaf patterns, and from within them there are various colors, so normally you choose by flower, don’t you? First choose the type of leaf, and then choose which flower you like, it’s interesting to be able to choose like this, and if you actually look at it in the store, if you buy it in the fall, the flowers will often not have come up yet, so is this perhaps meant to be an image of a Christmas tree? Yes, it’s true, when you look at it from this side it looks like a Christmas tree, and it’s also a heart, a cyclamen of love . The flowers are coming out, they’re so pretty and adorable, but they won’t be in full bloom until later, right? Yes, from November, so I guess it’s until spring, but this one is different, right? Yes, this Lifi we talked about earlier blooms from around summer until November, and this one blooms in reverse, following that, so it seems like garden centers selling them as a set in Europe will be doing the same in Japan too, so it will bloom beautifully over a long period. That’s great, the native cyclamen is really strong, so if you plant them, you’ll end up with one in bloom and you can enjoy it to the fullest. From now on, you’ll put more effort into breeding and try to increase the number of new flower colors. I see, are they already on sale at this point? They’re sold quite well in Europe, and I think you often see new species in Japan, but if they start releasing this new leaf pattern, I’d love to. Choosing in this way will expand the ways to enjoy cyclamen again. Thank you . And then there’s the macarons, which you introduced last year. Yes, we’ve put a new series of mini cyclamen called macarons in our catalog this year and have started selling them in earnest . We introduced them last year, and now they ‘re finally starting to get serious. They ‘re so cute, can you tell us about their characteristics again? A characteristic that can be said for the Morel series in general is the vivid flower colors. You can play around with the flower colors. There are really vivid colors , and there’s also white, so they’re heat-resistant, and in Japan right now, even in the heat 」 English : The hot summer is a problem in cyclamen production. We see cyclamen in the fall, but farmers actually produce them in the summer. It’s true that if they didn’t grow them in time, they wouldn’t make it. That’s right, summers in Japan are hot, isn’t it? Yes, we bred them with the intention of being able to overcome that . They are strong cyclamen that will carry the future. The name is cute, but they are actually strong. It’s great, it’s really just as it says here. This one is already available this year, and I think it should be quite popular . If you see it in a store, be sure to check it out . From what I’ve heard, this breeding is really being done with Japan in mind. As my colleague said last year, Japanese people really love their scenery, so we are making efforts to consider that. No, it’s because they think so too. We are also going to France, and we really want to go and see how these wonderful varieties are grown in France. Please come. I want to go, and there was a lot of excitement about it last year. Is it really okay to go? I think it would be good. The president will be there too, so I ‘d like to know if you could confirm. Yes, I think so. I’ll wait a moment. Thank you so much for listening, and thank you for your hard work. I hope I can go next year or something. Oh, not next year, but this year? Is it this year? I got the OK for November. Is November okay? Yes, I’ll go in November. I’ll definitely go. I’ve just returned from Malaysia, so can I go from Malaysia? It’s pretty close there, so of course I’ll be going in November, so that’s the right timing. In November, it ‘s already November, so there’s an open house, an event where they show the world the latest in their breeding , it’s their biggest event . I heard about it last year and I’d love to do something like that, but I’m wondering if it’s a bit difficult this year. Is that okay? Yes, President, I’m going! It’s decided. Mikami Masashi’s hobby is gardening channel. Morel-san France. I’m off! Oh, I’ve already said it. Yes, I ‘ve already said it. Look forward to the update. I would like to stream it, please, please, please, please , yay, so thank you, thank you, thank you , thank you . Now we have moved to the venue and are here at the H&L Plantation venue. Now , my introduction is from the executive committee member Ukai, please, please, please, please, it’s been a while. We were grateful for your help last year and we’ve done it again this year. Now, once again ,
this is the H&L Plantation venue. What kind of venue is it? Yes, it’s set up using the gardening store of the local agricultural direct sales store Tateshina Heavy Farm as another location. That’s right, it’s amazing, it’s decorated for Halloween. This year, yes, this year we have big, amazing , various Halloween pumpkins, it’s like a treasure chest . What is that? This is it. They say the gardening industry is a very tough industry right now, but we talked about that last year as well. The heat and typhoons are tough, but it ‘s true, it seems like we would like to bring in a breath of fresh air from here. Last year too, I said we would liven things up, and this is a fan, so it’s wind. Does it really work? How does it move? Is it manual ? Wow, this kind of playfulness is wonderful, and for this reasonな? English: Did they prepare it for that? That’s right. Thank you for this shoot. A new wind is blowing. Let’s change the industry from here. We ‘ve placed the fan. Okay, so let’s get started again this year. Thank you. Let’s go . First up is the H&L Plantation booth. Mr. Inada will be introducing us. Thank you very much. Thank you very much. Thank you very much . First of all, what kind of company is H&L Plantation? Well, they grow sedum, annual layers, and various other things, and they also use bees. The bees are also producers. They produce a wide range of products, and they are something that everyone can enjoy. There was a reason for H&L. They produce highland and lowland plants in areas with elderly residents and housing complexes . So, whether they are high or low, in hot or cold places, they are definitely strong plants that can grow well anywhere. So, what will we be introducing this time? Yes, it is sedum again this time. Let ‘s live with sedum. H&L’s sedum Speaking of sedum, there’s H&L Plantation. That’s right, thank you. How many varieties are there? We currently carry about 30 varieties. These are just like real paints. I think there are enough of them to paint a picture with. Sedum is definitely characterized by its small leaves. They’re cute little leaves. It’s a carnivorous plant, isn’t it? It’s a carnivorous plant. Starting this year, or next spring, from the time of the spring buds in spring and autumn, I’d like to suggest some classifications for those that can withstand the heat of summer, those that can withstand the cold from autumn to winter, and those that can enjoy the autumn leaves . What kinds are good for spring and summer? Those with cute flowers, and those that are good for summer. For example, the leaves are large, and the flowers are pink or white. They are strong and bloom easily, so they can withstand the heat. Of the recommended plants, I would recommend this one. In terms of color, I love the thin-leafed golden manleg. It really grows lush and gorgeous, and it really feels like the color of spring. That ‘s right. It ‘s strong, so it’s really lemony. It has a silver leaf-like texture, which is cute, isn’t it? It’s cool. This is also a strong plant that I would recommend for spring . Sedum grows well and can be used as ground cover, so it absorbs moisture and is great for the hot summer . So it’s like a savior, thank you. And as for the autumn/winter change, I want to enjoy the autumn leaves, so the Coral Carpet turns red and turns bright red, right? Yes , that’s right , and Red Berry, as the name suggests, Red Berry, Red Berry, they’re plump and if you turn them upside down they look like they’re ripe, like grapes, and they look delicious, and they turn red too, yes, that’s right , and those that turn particularly well are chosen and recommended for autumn/winter, and they’re wonderful, and they’re the type that can withstand the cold of winter, right? They’ll do their best, yes, it’s fine, it’s easy to choose, and that’s H&L Flandation, H, they can withstand the cold I’m having a hard time deciding, but is there anything that Inada-san would recommend? Here’s this one. It’s nice. It’s called Sasakurare Moss Green. What are the characteristics of Sasakurare Moss Green? At first it’s shaped like a Compeiton, but as it grows it becomes more and more screw-like and the eyes become more twisted. That ‘s right. It’s interesting. The eyes gradually become more twisted, like a strong Compeiton. At first, this is really good. Sasakurare Moss Green. If I say it again, I won’t forget. I also like Sasakurare. Thank you. You can probably get it at gardening stores. Yes, that’s right. Please buy it. It’s a great deal. I’m also wondering how to plant it in a container. I think it’s really cute to plant things with different colors or shapes close together, and there’s certainly such a wide variety of colors and shapes, so when you combine different things, just sedum can look so gorgeous, and it’s interesting.Yes , they’ve been planted in such detail, and they’ve all taken root in their own places. What I thought was interesting was the bees, aren’t they amazing? They’re not often seen, so I can’t believe this is the first time we’ve shown them, pompoms. Are they from America? They ‘ve come here.Taniku are unique, so it’s good for the bees to be even more unique, isn’t it?If you change the shape and do various things, the atmosphere changes completely. We’re also putting a lot of effort into bees, so there are lots here too, it’s wonderful. And yes , our company also does annual cultivation, and I think it’s special. I would like to introduce my favorite sweet mix viola. They are also doing violas. As it is cold here, they are able to ship violas early, and they will be shipped from now on. They are sweet mix violas. They are all named after sweets. Yes, that’s right.
Chiffon cake with berries, mango ice cream with fruit. Yes, I can’t wait to eat them. The colors are also carefully selected, so the finished product looks quite delicious. The feature is that it is a mix mix. There are three plants planted in this one pot, and they are all different types. Is this the image of a dessert? The image of a dessert is nice. So I was thinking about buying some violas and planting them. I’ll try it out. You’re probably already having trouble deciding which ones to combine, right? No need to worry. If you plant just one, it will bloom in huge quantities one after another, and if you cut them one after another, it will grow even more. They really bloom in great numbers, so I recommend the pastry chef’s Kimagure Dolce . I’m sorry, but our pastry chef has carefully selected them. It’s full of playfulness. It’s a pastry chef’s dessert. It changes every year, so it ‘s fun and I look forward to it. Every year, I come wondering what it will be this year, and it’s a surprise, so it would be nice to have a preliminary round of each one. Yes, it really becomes like a sweets buffet. And it’s really strong, isn’t it? It will survive the winter even in Nagano Prefecture. There’s no doubt about the cold. Either way, it will bloom from now on, even with the heat . It seems that this is also a gardening store that will be in stock soon so please wait Let’s get covered in sweets Thank you very much There are still many more food items from H&L It is a gardening store so if you come across them please come Thank you Thank you Next we have come to the booth of Takisekibyo It will be Natsume who will be introducing us Thank you very much We look forward to working with you again this year Once again, what kind of company is Takisekibyo It is located in Kyoto This year is the 190th anniversary of its founding They said last year that next year will be the 190th anniversary Congratulations Thank you It has finally arrived Applause applause 190th anniversary Everyone who loves it is amazing Amazing Congratulations That’s great, congratulations! They’ve supported the Japanese Horticultural Society. They originally started out as a seed peddler, so I think everyone thinks they’re a company that sells a lot of vegetable seeds, but they also do flowers, which is great. Last year’s onyx chili peppers were cool, perfect for Halloween. They had a variety of them, but I wonder what kind of flowers they’ll have this year. I have two recommendations this year. The first is foxglove. Is it foxglove? Speaking of foxglove, I hear it goes great with roses. Oh, it’s beautiful. It’s growing really fast. That’s right. It’s a foxglove with a lot of raised noses. There are types with bigger noses, but yes, this is a cute type. That ‘s right. They’re about 60cm tall at most, which is pretty low for a foxglove, but they do grow quite a bit. Yes, the word “dominant ship” says it’s an elite male, but it’s been bred to be a variety that doesn’t have pollen on the stamens. If pollen doesn’t get on the stamens, the flowers last a very long time , and they don’t produce seeds, after all. It’s hard for them to do that, so it’s a variety whose flowers last a very long time. So that’s how they’ve been bred. That’s right , the one I highly recommend this time is this white type. It’s a white type of foxglove that’s so compact, and it’s rare to see a white one. It’s certainly a non-burning type, and the flowers last a long time, so it looks like there are a lot of flowers because they last that long. Normally, they die off one after another. If you try it yourself, the flowering season also starts around May, and as you said earlier, it blooms well during the rose season, so you can enjoy it together with the roses. Moreover, because it is so compact, it can be easily matched with many things, and it also makes a good mini rose. That’s right, it can be grown in a great pot. It can be grown in a pot . I thought that large types of foxgloves would be difficult to grow in pots unless you have a garden , but even pots are important, it’s great. For those who want a natural garden, you can plant these in the foreground, so foxgloves, which tend to be in the background, can be grown in the foreground . It really broadens the range of options. The new variety is the name of the series, Flower B, and Flower B stands for bee, and in Europe, bees It has become a habit to be like a friend, a very important bee, and its name is Flower B. It is easy to remember, with this white, especially the dotted pattern. It has no relation to people in Europe, but in Japan, some people don’t really like the dotted pattern here, and some say they’re not good at it. It’s very faint, very faint. It gets a little darker towards the end, but there are few of them. Ordinary foxgloves have spots here like a pattern, really. It’s intentionally made less so. That’s right. The existing ones will be the fan service, but two new colors, white and pink, will be added. We will start supplying seeds to flower seedling farmers. So they are delivered to us as seedlings, aren’t they? They arrive from farmers to retail stores. When will they start? At the earliest, it will be late February. So next year, by February, they will be ready. This will broaden the ways to enjoy them, so I hope you will definitely try them out. It’s great, this is the kind of foxglove I’ve been looking for . Thank you, thank you, it’s wonderful . And there’s more, isn’t there? Yes, there ‘s one more, and next up is this! It’s a periwinkle, a vinca. There are so many small periwinkle flowers. That’s right . We are breeding Shaolin’s vinca, and this year we have added two colors, a red and a light salmon, a pale pink, to the lineup . There are now eight colors in total. There are even more ! Red has arrived! Red has arrived ! It feels like it’s been a long-awaited arrival! The long-awaited red! Wow, it’s really nice! It’s really vibrant! As expected, it’s really hot right now in the summer, so I’m sure there are some people who don’t want to do much gardening in their gardens, but even without much work, the plants have grown into bushy plants that bloom in abundance in this binker! The most popular white plant in our area is the pure white, with white petals and white buds. The center part is called the bud, and this is white. The whole plant is white, so it looks cool and is great in the summer, and along with that, there’s also the red one! Well, red and white, and when you put them together, the navy blue looks really nice! Really, it looks like this. Is this two plants? There are two plants! It’s amazing how just two plants create such a beautiful shape, and there are a lot of people who say this is great, and there are a lot of them. It blooms so much, right? That’s right, it’s an incredible bargain. It blooms for quite a long time, doesn’t it? It seems to do well in the summer too , depending on the location, but it will last until around the beginning of October. What are its original characteristics? This one has a lot of branches, and because it has a lot of branches , it becomes a bushy plant with a dome shape. It naturally becomes a dome-shaped plant, and it seems to be very susceptible to swarms every day. If it’s just this dome, it seems like it would form a swarm, but it is stronger against swarms than conventional varieties. Can I just say something? Yes, it’s not swarming, it’s not shaking, it’s not shaking. That’s nice, this is a common area that tends to get damaged, but it’s attached firmly, amazing, so you can make this at home too, that’s right, that’s wonderful, so when will the new colors be released? This one will be released in May of next year , oh, early. With the new colors and the old ones , it’s really just a matter of enjoying the plantings and having a great summer next year too. Thank you, thank you, I really love this hummingbird, the birds are coming too, I’m looking forward to seeing more wonderful flowers in the future, thank you , thank you , thank you very much for watching. There are still many more amazing new varieties and new products, so please take a look at the Chino Civic Hall Venue M&B Flora Venue edition in the description section, and please look forward to the France edition where we will sneak into Morel’s production site.
