This film was released in 2018 as an authentic period drama
directed by renowned cameraman Daisaku Kimura.
The beautiful and honest portrayal of the samurai
may not necessarily have been the reality of the majority.
The cameraman’s unique aesthetic scenes include rain, snow,
and a fight scene with a backdrop of camellias in full bloom, so much
so that they fall to the ground.
The killing scene by Junichi Okada
that accompanies this scene is wonderful,
and I could see Toshiro Mifune in his expression.
