星野源『いきどまり』を音楽家が初めて聴いたら…… #平場の月
Hello everyone, this is Dr. Kaito Tomita. Today, I’m going to be listening to and analyzing Hoshino Gen’s new song, “Ikidomari,” for the first time. This song is the theme song for the film, “Hiraba no Tsuki.” It’s a solid production consisting of only piano and vocals, so I think it’s my turn, so let’s take a listen right away. Wow , there’s something gentle and kind of gentle about it. It’s in D♭ major , so it feels like this. It starts on I, so it feels very gentle and quite nice. The chords that Hoshino Gen has been using recently are from this vi, and the bass goes up a semitone. Normally, you raise the part that comes down and then goes up to IV. This is kind of a variant of the canon progression, but it starts on I and ends on I, so it has a canon progression feel to it, but in the middle, it kind of comes back to that viI we saw earlier , so it ends with ii VI. It feels like it takes detours and develops. Oh, wait a minute. I always mention this when I’m explaining about Hoshino Gen recently, but I have a feeling that it’s probably written in C major, and then when he writes it and then shifts it to something that’s easier to sing, it often ends up being C major or close to C major, and this time it’s in D♭ major, so maybe if you play it in C major at first it will sound like this. Let’s listen ahead. The whole thing is 2 minutes 48 seconds, and a minute has already passed, so maybe it mostly ends with the first verse? The way he sings is really soulful, and there’s a beauty in the simplicity of the mixed fakery, I see, wow, the piano can be soulful too, the rhythm of the song is quite difficult, there are no drums so it’s a little hard to feel, but it feels like he’s pretending to be calm but actually creating a great groove , it feels like it’s almost over, it’s wonderful, it’s something really new, it feels amazing, it feels like he’s really into it, again the bass rises with the vi and it feels a little messy, but when he plays the chorus in C major it’s a little different, it’s almost over, it’s ephemeral, it has a gospel-like feel, doesn’t it , the singing really seems to fade away, and it clearly has a crying feel to it, the original melody comes in as if the vocals are overshadowing it, but it’s a little overshadowing, but now it’s a bit on time, the vocals have a pause and it almost matches the piano, it’s really simple and short, but it’s full of emotion and you can really feel the way the song is built and the groove, I want to listen to more of it, I look forward to your ratings, comments and channel subscriptions, see you in the next video, bye

「いきどまり」
英語タイトルは"Dead End"
