Backstory to the script:

A FRIEND IN THE STORM reminds us that life throws storms at us that make us feel we are drowning and lost. Hope seems to be stolen away when storms are at their worst. I found myself at different times throughout my life, consumed by the storms that were passing over and were it not for my closest friends, I cannot say I would have gotten through them. I was reminded that storms are passing things and not always constant. The warmth of a friend that genuinely cares for you, is like a fire during a thunderstorm. It can be what keeps you warm until the storm passes.

A single candle’s light can be seen for miles in the darkest of nights and that one friend can change a life. Rely on your friends when you need them, and return the favor in kind when they call on you, and both lives will be enriched and changed for the better. – Amber Marin

    It’s just one of those nights where my mind won’t shut off, you know?

    The fire really does feel comforting…
    And honestly, I’m not great at talking about what’s on my mind, but hearing you say that makes it feel okay.
    I guess it’s just been one of those days where everything feels a bit heavy.
