Not a bad performance, but she needs to get out there a little more often!

  1. your girl Abe Uta has been figured out. She strugled against a no-name serbian (!) judoka? Diora K forever lives rent free in her head! Diora will beat her again in LA Olympics. Save this post Kiwi boy! 🙂

  2. One single mistake in the Olympics for a pretty dominant judoka, and now everybody wants to talk smack. I thought you were better than this.
1st match: Abe wins, yet "She's frustrated" "She's nervous" "She's struggling" but for her opponent: "She did pretty well"
2nd match: Ippon under a minute yet it was "the opponents mistake"
3rd match: She gets the ippon and wins gold, yet "She's gonna have to come out a little bit more" "we'll give her the benefit of the doubt" "Vulnerability shown"

It's like everyone thought she was a God, and is upset that she isn't.

  3. Your third try for Nisavic got close.

Eastern Europeean "ic" at the end is pronounced "itch". In most languages "i" is pronounced like the vowel in "knee"

  4. I remember Hifumi was much more careful after Maruyama loss. I mean it's hard to be the best, it's even harder for them when they are not.

  5. It’s a bit like what happened to Ronda Rousey in MMA. They do very well when they are successful and on a roll, but break psychologically when reality deviates from their self-perception . Hopefully, she can recover from it.

  6. People make too much of her losing at the olympics, because she was crying and all.
But She Lost, and Lost well, her oponent was the better One on that match.

  7. I know little about Abe in her 'dominant era', but it seemed to me like she was very much testing the waters in that first match.

That basically immediate ippon in GS confirms it to me really. Obviously she wasn't quite dominating the match, but it felt like she was just getting comfortable to me

  8. She had and has nothing else to demonstrate. She is already a legend. You need to be brave to come back and show up again from zero like she is doing right now 🫶 Happy for her gold medal.

  9. Кельдиерова уже не вернётся на ковёр! У неё была цель золото ОИ ,она её завоевала и все, зачем дальше рвать своё здоровье 😂

  10. Every rival has to be treated with respect even if they're no names
They can be awkward and may cause an upset in your contest
You wouldn't know all these unless you had been there before and done it

  11. Player is slightly rusty after being out of competition for months, still wins gold.

    “She’s been found out!” 😂
