Legendary actor Toshiro Mifune is known for his masterly performances in the films of Akira Kurosawa, but he also had a long collaboration with director Senkichi Taniguchi that spanned nearly twenty years. This video is a compilation of clips from some of Mifune’s most prominent films with Taniguchi.

I just seen it first opening youtube and immediately I just had to watch it, too. I am certain that I am not alone with the feeling that one can never have enough of seeing him. I love the thousand expressions on his face it is scary how expressive he was!

・・・なんだか三船というと黒沢作品の代表的？なものに限られてる気がするが、こ～して見てると随分いろんな作品にでてるんだな～。知らない作品が一杯ある。よく列挙してくれました。ありがとうです。
こめんとを見てると、やはり三船の圧倒的なハンサム度を上げてｒ人が多い。こ～いう顔が「日本人」の印象をつけてると思うと、嬉しいやらちと恥ずかしいやら。でも日本人が見ても三船はハンサムです。それもサムライらしいハンサムです。外国の女性（ハリウッド含めて）三船ファンは多いですね。こ～いうのに見慣れると、比べちゃ～いけませんが、ジャニ系だのなんだの、、、マンガです。アニメです。（まったくだ）だから重厚な作品が創れませんね。みんな存在が軽くてね。
「存在感」と言うことで言えば、もう時代的に無理でしょう。役者「存在感」だな～っとつくづく思います。（わかる）

Actors in scenes with Mifune must have known from the gitgo, that nobody in the audience would watch anybody but him, whenever he was onscreen. But in a way, it was an honor just to be there…and take part in what he brought to his work. He was also not afraid to get 'sloppy, gritty, down and dirty'..the paint splash fight scene at the end of DRUNKEN ANGEL is both gruesomely comical and utterly heartbreaking… But even THAT – center stage Mifune.

私はMy wonderful yellow car 吹けよ春風が一番好きな映画です。息子さんの史郎さんの話では、この映画での三船氏が家庭での三船氏だそうです。三船氏は偉ぶらず、エキストラの人たちやその他のスタッフにも公平に接したそうです。
私は黒澤明の映画以外では、「太平洋奇跡の作戦 キスカ」が大好きです。
戦争映画ですが、三船さんがとても素敵です。
