Do you choose to rely on God or choose to blame God? Guo Weicheng Ray is 57 years old and was forced to retire early due to illness three years ago. He is a police superintendent and has always been in good health. He never thought that one day he would fall into the trap of the new coronavirus in early 2022. Pneumonia was at its peak when the outbreak occurred in Kwai Chung Village. I was the commander at that time and had to work on the siege for almost a month. I didn’t go home to sleep. I don’t know if it was the pressure at that time or other reasons. I started to be unable to jump and run. I felt weak . First my right leg, and then my left leg gradually became unable to run. I went to different doctors for treatment of bruises, Western medicine couldn’t diagnose what was going on. I consulted an orthopedic doctor, and he didn’t know the cause. In the worst case, I couldn’t move my whole body or my hands. It was in so much pain that I couldn’t move my limbs. I was lying on the bed and couldn’t move at all. I remember that all the laboratory tests that could be taken directly into the hospital were done with magnets. Resonance scans have been done countless times but no reason can be found. Muscles are gradually losing strength and weakening. He is getting thinner and thinner. He has to rely on his son and wife to go to the toilet. Sometimes his brother-in-law and sister help. Basically, all human dignity has been lost. The strange disease has struck. Ray is suffering physically and mentally. His wife Elaine is also not having a good time. In addition to constantly taking care of the children, she has to spend a lot of time. I tried my best to support my husband. Many so-called great doctors could not find the cause of the disease , but he was not going to die . He was still clear- headed and knew how to chat, laugh, and pray. My mood was indescribable. What saddens me the most is that I cannot do my former job of preaching the gospel. This is the saddest thing for me. I am grateful for one thing . In this harsh situation, God gave me a clear mind and a mouth that I could still speak. I once lay down In the hospital bed, I preached the gospel to the patients next to me. I felt very grateful for the brothers and sisters who came to visit me. I met many dead Christians and they were actually inspired by me . They saw that I was such a loser and they preached the gospel even though they could not walk, but they could do it. Can they do more? I met Ray in 2018. Sir , he had just been transferred to Tsuen Wan Police Station . When he came to our team to chat, this senior officer actually came to meet with the team. I thought he was very friendly to the people. We held Tsuen Wan noon fellowship gatherings and evangelistic meetings. I visited Sir Ray at that time. He had to use a wheelchair. I felt very sad . He was very haggard and thin . Why was he like this? But he said that when he thought about how to preach the gospel, he always cared about the Lord. Ray At the age of 40, they decided to believe in Jesus. From then on, the couple enthusiastically returned to the church. For them, this disease was not only a test of life but also a touchstone of faith. My wife’s sister knew a miracle doctor and she suggested that I make an appointment for a doctor. When I made the appointment, the other person replied that your brother-in- law had offended God and broke his legs . Is there only one true God who wants me to worship it? I can’t possibly remember that my wife’s sister came for the second time more than a month later . She may have been evil at work . She got up at 12 o’clock every night and danced ballet for three consecutive nights. The same thing happened. Her mother was very afraid and found ways to worship ghosts, such as burning street clothes and scratching ghost feet. Methods that I didn’t know. In the end, she got better. His brother is Wu Shen. The commentator wanted me to recover. He told my wife that Ray has been ill for so long and has not recovered. I don’t know what happened. I saw my sister recover and I thought it was really effective. Don’t believe it. It’s better to do it this way . I know you don’t want to do it. You just need to nod and agree. I will help you burn things and hold a ceremony. This is the first time we have reached a consensus not to pray to the devil. I knelt down so my family ignored me from the second time. The third time it was my sister’s turn. I had made her decide to believe in Jesus. She knew she couldn’t worship but she loved me very much. Just tell my wife that this is it. If you agree, I will help you worship and these sins will be put on me. I said sister, don’t do this. We believe in Jesus and there is no need to worship idols anymore. Don’t rely on these things. I discussed and prayed with my husband and found peace. If God wants him to be incurable and crippled for the rest of his life, then so be it. The Bible says that Paul also had a thorn that God didn’t pull out for him, let alone me. Of course, it’s not just my wife, but the whole family is also affected. This is the experience of the whole family. I visited him and saw He was in a wheelchair and could not move, but he told us at the time that he believed God was always prepared. His attitude moved us very much. Since the onset of the disease in March 2022, the cause of the disease could not be found, so Ray was hospitalized for two months and went home to recuperate. He received regular physical therapy and occupational therapy. Unfortunately, the condition remained the same until he was finally diagnosed half a year later. Now there is a sister who buys a house in Zhaoqing . One of the owners of a housing estate in Zhaoqing suddenly said, Hallelujah, because of poor blood circulation in his legs, his legs are like elephants. He spent ten years in medical treatment and spent a lot of money on medical treatment in China, Hong Kong and Canada , but he could not be cured. It happened that a rehabilitation hospital opened in Zhaoqing in July 2023, and he had been there for more than ten years. The disease was cured in more than a month and 80% to 90% of the leg swelling was reduced . God ‘s grace opened a way everywhere. It was the time when I started to recover. In Hong Kong, he was almost dead . The doctor told my husband to go to the hospital to receive treatment and exercise from morning to night. He would be very tired after eating and would need to sleep after a meal, so I had no intention of staying here and returning after a while. I felt relieved when I came to visit and take care of my two children. I also needed to take care of my two children. Based on my experience, I felt that the cause of dermatomyositis was an imbalance in my immune system. Inflammation in all parts of the body attacks each other in different parts of the body. My situation is attacking my hands and feet. They want to treat me with a plan, but I am not a doctor. Instead, I hope to restore my own immunity. They gave me different treatments from morning to night, including acupuncture, Chinese medicine, massage, and hydrotherapy. They are very advanced in physical therapy. They also have all the treatments that doctors asked us to receive, both Chinese and Western . We said we would do them all. Since we entrusted them to the doctors, we trusted them. After two months of intensive treatment, Ray’s health has improved significantly. Everyone is also very happy about this. Surprisingly, I am very grateful. After he was discharged from the hospital, he recuperated locally for half a year. He had a lot of quiet reflection and continued to recover slowly. As I said, walking step by step was very painful . Sometimes the pain made me shed tears . I relied on the Lord for strength, and the recovery process took a long time. It was a little better. I took three steps back. I was very frustrated. However, in the process, I relied on the Lord and walked very slowly. When I walked back to Hong Kong, I walked very slowly. I still had to hold on to two crutches , and gradually one became less and less. Every time I shared the gospel with a friend , I walked a little faster. It was amazing that he could not move and had to push a wheelchair to get in and out. Later, I bought a walking frame and walked a short distance outside until I could walk into the elevator with me. When I went downstairs, he could eat by himself, and he could go to the toilet without feeding . I am very happy as I continue to make progress and have hope. The church has been praying for me for two years and I don’t know when I will recover. I am very touched by the fact that I don’t know when I will recover. A Christian who I don’t know comes to make soup for me and visit me. Where can I find a place to pray together ? In this matter, I saw that God’s love is really put into practice among the brothers. It turns out that this is like a fellowship in heaven. Time went to the downstairs of Ray and Elaine’s house. We sang hymns, shared prayers and supported Ray, watched for him, met with group members, and watched for Ray’s entire family. I lived in Zhaoqing for seven months . During these seven months , I felt the closest to God . When I had nothing to do, I just thought about what I could do to glorify God, sing and praise Him. I don’t know how to play music or play guitar. But it’s amazing that one of the dozens of songs I composed during that period of time is one that I like very much, “The Lord is My Everything.” Why are you bearing my sins ? Although we live in different places in China and Hong Kong six months ago, the same thing is that he seizes the opportunity to share his eternal hope with others. We met for dinner and saw him walking over with crutches . At that time, I was surprised that he went from sitting in a wheelchair to walking with crutches in just a few months. When we met again, he no longer needed crutches and could walk freely. This is God’s great grace. Once in China After living there, I found that the local area was very suitable for recuperating and recuperating. I tried to go back to China to find a place to make a second home , so I found Shiliyintan. In Huizhou, I gradually got to know a group of people living there. Among them, many Christians met in groups of three or four to study the Bible. We do not pursue the number of people , but the quality of people’s growth is very important . The church is actually not a building . Two or three people, with Jesus among them, we are the church . The beloved Son of God who bruised and saved all peoples has been prepared for the Bible story. Jesus healed ten people with leprosy. Only one of them went back to thank Him. I really want to be the God who thanked Him for the grace that healed me. Whenever I meet people I know or don’t know, I will also share it. Recently, at a dinner party, senior officials who were my contemporaries were very grateful. They spent some time listening to my testimony and sharing with them. I also understand that I don’t know how many years to live, but I hope that I can go all the way and witness God all the way . The Bible says that David once suffered from a strange disease . “Psalm 41” mentions that David contracted a strange disease. Some people laughed at him and ridiculed him. Ray is a bit similar to David . He also contracted a strange disease, but he still relied on God wholeheartedly. At the right time, God’s hand appeared and became his support. In the past, I worshiped many different gods and was self-centered. The pursuit of money, women, and power was nothing more than these few things, including health. In fact, it doesn’t matter which god I worship. It just makes these few things good. I didn’t know there was hope for eternal life at that time , so I was addicted to it for a long time until I believed in Jesus. Sometimes I saw the so-called “prosperity gospel” and often blessed you with health. Is it true that wealth is as much as the Bible says? Yes, then should the Book of Job be torn up and thrown into the sea? Especially this time, my experience is very real. The body is just a skin. Gold and silver. Treasures. Power is not eternal. When you lose your life, these are all rubbish. If a God just blesses you, is this a good God? Or can he let us experience He knows and grasps eternity. When I was sick and couldn’t move , someone told me that I couldn’t play around, but I was very happy and felt very calm at that time . I felt what Paul said, I regard everything as dung, even suffering and death, nothing can separate me from the love of God . With Jesus, I feel that it is really better than everything. Ray’s story mentioned in the interview that he was tempted three times . For Christians, Temptation generally refers to the temptation from the devil, Satan, in order to make people leave God. Being tempted is not just for us. It was unavoidable when Jesus was alive in the past. Jesus was tempted by the devil three times in the wilderness. However, Jesus was firm and used the truth to defeat Satan one by one.
