The habitat suitable for pandas is a humid climate where bamboo grows at an altitude of 1200m to 3600m , and this Ya’an Bifengxia Base is at an altitude of about 1200m, which is a friendly environment for pandas. I got up early and came to Chengdu West Station. As of May 2025, Li Li, Xin Xin, and Xiang Xiang live here. However, Li Li is on a business trip to Wolong Base for the breeding program . It takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes to get from Chengdu to Ya’an Station, and from there it is about a 40-minute drive to the Ya’an Bifengxia Base. I booked the train ticket on Trip.com. I recommend purchasing China’s high-speed rail and admission tickets to facilities on Trip.com. So I arrived at the Ya’an High-Speed ​​Rail Station. I just left the exit. There are unlicensed taxi solicitors at the station exit, but they are not too persistent, so refuse them and take a DiDi taxi. There is a sign nearby to guide you to the taxi stand. This time, on Chobi-tabi, we will take a taxi to Ya’an Bifengxia Base. Remember that the average taxi fare is 60 yuan. Actually, Chobi-tabi made a mistake here, and when I showed him the screenshot on the right, he said 60 + 10 = 70 yuan, and I thought it was okay because I was going, so I said OK, and then he took me past the visitor center to the entrance of the panda base. The Trip.com ticket is a ticket that you don’t need to stop at the visitor center, but it includes the bus fare from the visitor center to the panda base. So you will lose 10 yuan. Also, it is free for people over 60 years old, so be sure to get approval at the visitor center. It’s a little hard to see, but the taxi stand is down the stairs here. You can go there by bus, but the opening hours are from 9:00. It will be before 11:00 by the time we meet Xiang Xiang, so we will exclude it this time. This is the visitor center. The visitor center opens at 8:30, but the panda base opens at 9:00. People over 60 years old can enter for free, so please get approval from the visitor center. It is about a 5-minute drive from the visitor center to the main gate, but it is uphill, so it is not a walking distance. The people waiting there now are Japanese, so they taught me a lot of things. Thank goodness. There is still snow left. I took a picture of the entrance on my way back because it was hectic on the way there. Here, you show your ticket and go inside, and here you pay for the cart ticket with Wechatpay. Then you get on the cart and head to Xiang Xiang. This cart is exposed to the wind, so you will need gloves and knitting needles in cold seasons. It was early March, and we could not enter the area where the mother panda “Shin Shin” is located due to construction. They were building a toilet on the left side of this screen, so it must be done by now. It’s not raining, but the glass is fogged up with moisture like this. It seems like it gets foggy no matter how much I wipe it. And then suddenly Xiang Xiang! So fast! For a while, she was living in this hole leading to the room and outside. If you look closely, you can see that the feeding area isn’t ready yet. As the sun rose, the fog on the glass cleared up. Xiang Xiang came! But she left soon after. She didn’t come for a while after this, so we went to see the panda kindergarten first. Chobi Tabi ate the snacks we brought with us in this square. Drinks are sold at the wagon. What color is a panda’s tail? You think it’s black, right? But it’s actually white. It’s a little dirty. She’s responding, she’s responding because she was called. Now, let’s go back to Xiang Xiang. After Xiang Xiang, we walked like this and got on a cart from the Panda Kindergarten back to the entrance. I wonder if there is one here too . There was an exhibition room next to the ticket booth, so I went in. Pandas are so big, but the newborn babies are so tiny that I wonder where they are. I would like to see a group of baby pandas like this once. Their fur was quite stiff and rough. Pandas like bamboo and bamboo shoots, so their poop is also bamboo shoot colored and is called bamboo dumplings. Horses and cows, which are also decorative animals, have a unique smell like those in the zoo, but pandas don’t smell at all. It’s strange. The room wasn’t very spacious, but it was worth seeing. Now, let’s go back to the visitor center . The bus stop for the return trip is on the left side after leaving the exit. You can see the bus right now. If you bought your ticket on Trip.com, you can get on the bus by showing the QR code. If you use Trip.com, you won’t get a paper ticket, so if you want to take it home as a souvenir, buy your ticket at the visitor center instead of buying it on Trip.com. The ticket includes the entrance fee to Bifeng Gorge, which is a short hiking course, so I’d like to go there. So I returned to the visitor center, which I wanted to stop by in the morning. It seems like there are two cars waiting now, right? Now, I’m going to take a taxi to Ya’an High Speed ​​Rail Station. If there are no taxis, call Didi or take the bus. If DD is only available in Ya’an city, it seems that you will be charged an additional 20 yuan for the return shipping fee. It was 60 yen when I came. I’m heading to the south gate of the Chengdu Panda Base. If you are aiming for Hua Hua (Fa Hua), which is very popular in China, head to the south gate, and if you are aiming for Sakurahama and Peach Beach at Adventure World, head to the west gate. It has been decided that the pandas at Adventure World will return to Chengdu on Saturday, June 28th . Those four pandas are also scheduled to come to this Chengdu base. The taxi fare was 34 yuan from the hotel. It is quite cheap, about 680 yen in Japanese yen. There are a lot of them. It’s not as expected. Chobi-tabi is currently heading to Fafa, which is located in Giant Panda Villa No. 6. It’s quite difficult to find Fafa at first glance, so read this and prepare in advance. If you have time, try going to Villa No. 3 as well. It’s almost 10 o’clock, so everyone is walking slowly, but when it’s opening time, everyone is running to Fafa, so if you follow the flow, you will naturally reach Fafa. It says more than 2 hours. It seems that a monopod is okay, so if you have one, it’s better to bring it with you no matter where you are. Unfortunately, Chobi Tabi started at the very back. There wasn’t much space. FaFa, come here~ This time, I only got a glimpse of its profile. This sleeping panda is my sister Wakano. Wakano’s profile too… The wait time was 2 hours, but the viewing time was probably about 3 to 5 minutes. Next time, I’ll come at 1am and get revenge. In Japan, wild birds don’t come this close, so I’m a little impressed to see them up close for the first time. I want to go to Mochizukikan where Momohama is, so I’ll head there by cart. Even if you scan the QR code, you can’t buy it without a local phone number, so I pay with cash. Why can you hear Chanmi? Amazing. By the way, this was the only place I used cash on my trip to China. It’s so cold. This is the food court area. Unfortunately, I didn’t go this time. As of May 2025, Takahama lives in Akizukikan, and Sakurahama and Momohama live in Mochizukikan. Takahama is the child of Eimei and Umeumei, and is Yoshihama’s half-brother. If you go up this escalator and go to the left, you will reach the exit for the West Gate, so please do not go through the gate. I googled the West Gate and went outside. Unfortunately, I didn’t know which pandas were in which areas this time because I didn’t study enough, so I could n’t take many videos. Next time I come, I’ll take pictures of the whole beach! We’re heading to the Wolong Shenshuping Base, about 135km from Chengdu City, and it takes about 2 hours by car one way. Xiang Xiang’s father, Li Li, is on a business trip to this base for a breeding program . And the reason Chobi Tabi came here is to meet Chanmi’s favorite panda, Fu Bao, who returned from Korea. However, this Pu Bao was not open to the public at the time of this shoot… What a shame… It seems that it is impossible to access this place by public transportation, train or bus, so Chobi Tabi applied for a charter tour with Klook. The tour cost about 30,000 yen including tickets for two people. There are also cute stuffed toys on display in the car. When we arrive at the base, the driver will buy the tickets for us. So we have to hand over our passports. This time, we will have a ticket as a souvenir, which is nice. So, we finally arrived at Wolong Base. It was a long journey. We left Chengdu at 7:30, but I think it would be better to leave around 6:30 to 7:00. Then, there will be no traffic jams and we will probably be able to get in around 9:00 when the show starts. (The driver will be on duty for 10 hours) At this time, Pubao was not open to the public, so there were very few visitors. After passing through the gate, you will see a bridge, so cross here. As was the case at Ya’an Base, the air is fresh. There is something that looks like a map… The site is not large, but it is a mountain, so there are differences in elevation. There are three main types: inner ring, outer ring, and kindergarten. The baby is so small. I’ve never seen such a small one before. Doesn’t this look similar?
