【9割の人は知らない】「情熱」の定義と「情熱の感覚」の見つけ方【成功者の秘密④】【自己実現】

“There’s not enough passion…” “What exactly is passion anyway?” Hello! This is Teacher Qu. Nice to meet you Today’s theme is I will talk about “The True Nature of Passion and How to Find It” On this channel, we will share useful information and insights on ‘self-growth’ necessary for self-realization through ‘neuroscience’, ‘psychology’, and ‘mind improvement methods’ If you like, please subscribe to the channel Today’s theme is about ‘passion’ What kind of image do you have of passion? Simply put, it’s like being ‘hot and burning’ It’s an image of being incredibly motivated, like ‘energy is exploding’ The reason I thought about making this video this time is that I believe everyone knows the word ‘passion’ It’s like, ‘What does that mean?’ I think there are many cases where it’s not clearly defined or understood It feels like we’re going to organize our thoughts on ‘passion’ in this video To gain something, you first need to understand the ‘definition’ or the ‘mechanism’ that makes it possible I think there are also times when you can accidentally obtain results without intending to When you think ‘let’s enhance that’, understanding the structure makes it feel more accessible For example, sports or soccer If we don’t clearly understand what soccer is as a sport, but what should I do with it?’ It’s obvious that you can’t utilize something if you don’t understand what it is (the concept) This time, it’s a session focused on understanding the concepts necessary for utilization To effectively use passion, first, we need to think about what ‘passion’ really means and what kind of feeling it is It’s somewhat like a ‘hot’ or boiling sensation I think we can somewhat create an image like ‘Whoa, let’s do this!!’ The topics I will discuss this time are the following two The first is ‘the definition of passion’ and the second is ‘how to find the feeling of passion.’ so when trying to understand something, it needs to be experienced It’s what people commonly refer to as ‘understanding through language’ versus ‘understanding through sensation,’ or ‘learning by doing.’ What does it mean to have a sensation that you’ve learned through your body? It feels like we should actually go ahead and explore ‘how to find sensations.’ So please make sure to watch until the end! First of all, what does ‘passion’ mean? Let’s talk about the origins of the word ‘passion’ and its meaning Isn’t it natural to say, ‘There is an event, and we give it a name’? It’s not like we look for events that fit a name we’ve already created, right? Like when we see a person walking and think, ‘What is this action?’ I think this is what we call ‘walking’—it feels like it was named afterward It’s not like I started walking after I ‘decided’ on the word ‘walk’, right? There was some event that happened, and when I communicate that event to someone, I think the reason we give names is that ‘having a name is convenient’, If you want to define something or clarify it, I feel like it’s easier to get an image by first looking up the meaning of the words When I looked it up in the dictionary (about the meaning of passion), it’s described as ‘a strong, burning emotion towards something.’ It’s that kind of feeling that I initially presented as an image It’s a state where ‘intense emotions are welling up.’ I think anyone can create an image of this Next, if we understand what other words are synonymous with ‘passion’, I feel that the image of ‘passion’ will expand, so I’ll also talk about synonyms, specifically ‘synonymous words’ Words with similar meanings… For example, it’s like the relationship between ‘laughing’ and ‘smiling’ There are various terms like ‘to break into a smile’, but if you were to ask what the synonyms for ‘laugh’ are, the first one would be ‘enthusiasm’, the next ‘strong emotion’, and the third one (which is interesting) is ‘single-mindedness’ This (the shape of the fingers representing 3) is a bit difficult to do, so I’m using this instead Words like ‘serious’, ‘desperate’, and also ‘diligent’ Additionally, ‘being passionate’ also falls into the category of ‘enthusiasm’ It’s more like synonyms rather than categories “Inquisitiveness” and “curiosity” can also be considered synonyms of “passion,” along with terms like “diligent in research” and “enthusiastic.” Being “absorbed” is also a state of “having passion,” I would say These are synonyms of passion When you line up synonyms like this, it feels like ‘burning with emotion’, ‘increasing the intensity of emotion’, ‘desperately clinging to that matter’, and ‘focusing on it’ ‘Seeking and concentrating on it by oneself’, I think that’s the kind of image it creates It really feels like “that’s all I can see” Moreover, it’s not about “meaning” or “benefits”, but simply that “emotions” and “impulses” arise and lead you “toward that thing” That’s the image, isn’t it? That’s what ‘passion’ means That’s the image of ‘passion’ that is associated with its synonyms Next, it’s important to look up the ‘antonyms’ as well; by researching the ‘opposite word’ of passion, you can see its elements more clearly For example, if there is the word ‘indecisiveness’, I think the opposite would be ‘quick decision-making’, like ‘deciding and making a choice right on the spot’ Opposing means something like ‘can’t decide on the spot’, right? It’s the feeling that an ‘image of indecisiveness’ comes to mind It’s the ‘antonym of passion’, and there are ‘three’ major aspects to it The first one is ‘emptiness’, then ‘sternness’, and the third one is ‘logic’ ‘Emptiness’ refers to a ‘state of having nothing’, right? I think it’s often expressed as ‘hollow’ or ‘a feeling as if a hole has opened in the heart’ It’s like having no desire or emotion at all It’s just a state of being ‘void’ (in my heart), which feels like ‘nihility.’ The term ‘stern’ is written as ‘cold and strict,’ and that’s exactly what it is It’s like ‘discarding all emotions and just calmly dealing with things.’ It’s like the image of a capable person at work It’s like ‘I’m not doing it because I want to, but because it’s the mission I’ve been given.’ That’s the way of thinking It’s like saying, ‘I do it because it’s my mission, not because of my feelings.’ The third one is ‘reason’—or rather, ‘rationality.’ I think there is an expression that goes “to think rationally” This is similar to “coldness” in that it involves thinking calmly and not getting emotional, just purely logically, like “this is the formula, so it will turn out this way” → like “cause and effect” The idea that “emotions do not come into play during that time” is what we call “reason” When you line up the antonyms of (passion) like this, it really feels like a ‘state of having no emotions,’ almost like a robot, just focusing on ‘logic’ and ‘meaning’ and such It feels like focusing only on ‘cause and effect’ and ‘process,’ right? When you hear it this way, it gives the impression that ‘you can get the job done,’ doesn’t it? ‘Not being swayed by what you want to do, just tackling the tasks at hand’ might be important for achieving something But isn’t it true that ‘you can’t keep going just out of a sense of duty’? It’s like, ‘I know I should do it, but I can’t.’ I think most people can’t continue without that kind of ‘impulse to want to do it’ (passion) There are times when ‘emotions get in the way,’ though Feeling “bothered” is also part of emotions “It’s bothersome” or “I don’t want to do it because it causes stress,” something like that Those (negative) emotions during such times might get in the way It’s different from ‘passion’, isn’t it? Passion is really about wanting to do something It’s ‘positive energy’ and ‘positive emotions’, so it’s not about completely denying emotions There are also ‘bad feelings’ and ‘good feelings’, It’s true that it would be nice if we could just calmly do what needs to be done without getting emotional, It’s quite difficult to stick to what we’ve ‘decided’, isn’t it? I got a bit off track, but The opposite of ‘passion’ is something like ‘lack of motivation’ And then there’s really the idea of ‘thinking only logically rather than emotionally’ It feels like I’m constantly caught up in thoughts like ‘Does it have meaning or not?’ From here, I will look up ‘synonyms’ that can be derived and ‘broaden the image’ by knowing ‘antonyms’ to ‘highlight the meaning.’ I think I can somewhat imagine what ‘the image of passion’ is, like ‘passion is something like this.’ This is the ‘definition of passion’ derived from here the ‘definition of passion’ that I am talking about here is ‘liking something,’ being ‘absorbed in what is in front of you,’ being able to ‘seriously engage,’ and ‘absolutely seeing it through.’ There is a feeling or sense of ‘I want to do this.’ That’s because it feels ‘important to me’ that such a sensation arises In other words, it’s something that is ‘liked’ plus ‘important’ and ‘something I want to do seriously’, along with the added feeling that ‘I wouldn’t mind investing as much time and effort as needed’ Because I can’t help but want to do it If it’s a ‘game’ that’s easy to understand, it’s really like ‘before you know it, you can play until morning.’ There are also people who can play for ‘hours or even tens of hours.’ On the other hand, it’s like ‘doing nothing and not touching your smartphone at all.’ If someone told me to just stay there, wouldn’t that be just pure agony? Honestly, I feel like I couldn’t last even 10 minutes There’s also this desire to always be active, but putting that aside, let’s consider an extreme example I think the state of ‘not getting tired no matter how much effort you put in’ varies from person to person For example, there are people who really say, ‘I even hate writing.’ Studying is something that some people truly ‘love and love.’ There are also those who study for over ten It seems like no matter how many hours you study, you still can’t do it at all I guess you take breaks in between, but… This really is a matter of ‘each person is different’, isn’t it? In other words, to sum it up, it’s a state of having the impulse to want to do something It’s like the feeling of wanting to do something, being immersed in emotions like ‘liking’ or ‘being passionate’ about it It’s a state of having a ‘fiery sensation’ Let’s take a look at the characteristics of passionate people here I think I have a general image of what passion is about I feel that by looking at how passion affects people and the characteristics of passionate individuals, it will become clearer There are mainly five characteristics of passionate people The first one is ‘having a sense of speed.’ I think the definition of passion includes ‘being driven by the impulse to do what you want,’ but it’s really about having the feeling of ‘wanting to act immediately once you’ve decided’ or ‘wanting to execute right away.’ It’s like there’s really a sense of ‘speed’; once I decide, I feel like I have to immediately act on whatever comes to mind, or my body won’t settle down So, first of all, what does it mean to have a ‘sense of speed’? It’s the quickness The second characteristic of passionate people is ‘being positive and forward-looking.’ ‘Passion’ = ‘an emotion that gives energy’ and ‘an emotion that enhances a person’s vitality’, so it’s more of a good image, I believe it’s a ‘good emotion’, no matter what situation arises It’s about being able to say, ‘It’s something I want to do, so that’s good enough for me.’ It’s possible to have that kind of mindset It’s like saying, ‘The results weren’t great, but I got to do what I wanted, so that’s okay.’ Being able to think that way is a characteristic of passionate people It’s more about the characteristics of a person who can utilize their passion rather than just having passion The fourth one is… it feels like, ‘Is this the most important one?’ They have perseverance I feel like people watching this video probably want this fourth option the most “I can’t maintain my motivation,” “I can’t get motivated,” “I can’t take action,” “Isn’t there a feeling of burning passion?” That’s where the word ‘passion’ comes in… I believe that to achieve something significant, the most important thing is to ‘continue the actions you’ve decided on.’ If you don’t continue, right? It’s obvious that you won’t reach your goal halfway through Perseverance to keep going until you achieve your goal Even when feeling down, supported by a ‘fiery emotion’ like ‘but I want to see it through,’ the image is ‘falling and getting back up again, falling and getting back up again,’ and each time you fall, you ignite your passion and boost yourself People who can effectively harness their passion… yes, I realized this while talking It’s more about the characteristics of people who can effectively use their passion rather than just the characteristics of passionate people These are the five points we’re discussing right now The fifth point is about ‘not being swayed by the situation.’ It’s like that feeling of ‘No matter what anyone says or what the situation is, I want to do it.’ I absolutely want to see it through It’s like saying, ‘This person says it’s different, but I still want to do it.’ It’s because I’m driven by that kind of ‘passion’ that I end up in such a state People who would let this fire be ‘blown out’ or ‘extinguished by someone’s words’ or who would say ‘well, I guess I’ll just quit’… Isn’t that ‘not passionate’? When you think about it paradoxically It’s precisely because the ‘flame is large’ that it won’t just go out from the surrounding provocation Conversely, it’s not exactly a rebellious spirit, but when someone says, ‘There’s no way you can do that,’ it makes you think, ‘Damn it! I’ll definitely make it happen!’ There are also people who ‘grow larger as the flame is stoked.’ That’s the kind of image we’re talking about There is indeed the idea that ‘it’s precisely because there are strong emotions that one doesn’t get swept away.’ Yes, here we have things like ‘the definition of passion,’ ‘image,’ and ‘what exactly is passion.’ I feel like I’ve clarified what ‘the essence of passion’ is Next, it’s finally that, isn’t it? I think I understood what it means to be ‘passionate’ What does that (passionate) feeling mean, like ‘you won’t understand unless you experience it’? So, I would like to talk about ‘how to know the feeling of passion’ from now on There are four ‘specific processes’ The first is to ‘remember what you loved since you were a child’, the second is to ‘recall activities you have invested time and effort into for a long time’, the third is to ‘remember environments or situations that made you feel happy and fulfilled’, and the fourth is about ‘the future’ “A lifestyle I admire,” “an ideal life,” “a person I admire,” “imagining my aspirations,” right? I mentioned this in the definition of passion as well Passion is about “things I love” and the “impulse to do them.” A passionate feeling of wanting to accomplish something no matter what, and that ‘thought’ exists The state of ‘not minding how much time and effort you put in’ is the ‘definition of passion,’ and it feels like unraveling each of those aspects The first point is… when I look back on my past, I am in a very relaxed state I would like you to do it in a state where there are no distractions (where your mind is not disturbed) It’s called the ‘mood congruence effect.’ This is where the discussion of psychology comes in People have a tendency to remember positive events more easily when they are in a positive mood and negative events more easily when they are in a negative mood So, to avoid leaning towards either side and to achieve a neutral state, it’s important to relax Trying to do things in a relaxed state of mind can be quite effective When you’re feeling unwell… The brain can get tired, which can make you more prone to feeling down Due to this feeling down, there’s a possibility that you might think, ‘I have nothing at all.’ I hope you can do it when you’re relaxed It can be anywhere, like ‘when you go to bed at night’ or ‘on top of the futon’ ‘While soaking comfortably in the bathtub’ or anything else is fine, as long as you can relax The first one is about “recalling the things I liked since I was little” and it feels like tracing back to the very “first memory” of my life In my case, I think it was around 3 years old? Maybe 4, 2, or 3 years old…? Something like that? My very first memory is an image of “standing in a pure white space.” I am from Yamagata, which is a snowy region, and I was born in winter A stark white landscape outside It was a night when quite a bit of snow was falling, and I was standing there when someone, maybe my brother or my mother? I can’t tell which… It seems like they were hurriedly coming to pick me up I think my first memory is of being stopped with something like ‘No, no, no.’ First, is it okay if I talk about myself? From there, let’s trace back to the things I liked when I was 3 years old The things I liked when I was 4 years old It might be nice to look back on what you liked at the age of 5, one year at a time For example, ‘I liked it when my parents or siblings would pat my head.’ But even things like that are perfectly fine Also, things like ‘I liked watching the anime that aired on Sundays’ and ‘I was really into card games’, ‘It was fun playing cards with my family’ or ‘I have memories of trips we took’, while we were out together’ When it comes to the definition of ‘like’, it’s simply something that makes you feel good and lifts your spirits This is what I mean by the ‘definition of like’ here It feels like I’m just going to keep raising my spirits As I keep doing this, I really start to feel the heat around here I do this sometimes too This ‘feeling of warmth in the chest’, ‘intense emotions’, and ‘gentle sensation’ is really something This is what we call ‘the feeling of passion’ Next, it’s ‘an activity where no amount of time and effort feels burdensome’ In my case, it’s probably ‘just researching online.’ If I have one theme that I’m interested in, I dive deep into it Before I know it, I’m really ‘researching for 5 or 6 hours straight’ sometimes So, that’s also why I can do things like this blog or YouTube It’s more like ‘I don’t mind researching and summarizing information.’ It’s like ‘I can invest as much time as I want.’ I’ve never felt that researching is a burden It’s exciting to think about how to use the information I’ve gained I enjoy thinking about how to make knowledge practical, not just acquiring it I also like taking walks; it’s nice to ‘get to know the outside world’ and ‘walk while pondering things.’ I like both ‘walking while looking at the scenery outside’ and ‘just walking endlessly.’ It’s like discovering ‘I didn’t know there was an alley like this!’ when I enter unknown alleys Walking is really… there have been times when I’ve walked for as long as 4 or 5 hours There were times when I really walked ‘all night long’ until ‘the sun came up’ And it wasn’t just for a day or two; there were periods when I did this almost every day (walking until dawn), especially when I was a teenager I wonder if this connects to ‘continuing to walk’ or ‘continuing to think’ in some way It doesn’t feel difficult at all I feel a bit embarrassed using my own example, but it’s like that for me when I really think about how many hours… It’s really like ‘watching anime’ or ‘playing games’ It’s fine if it’s something like ‘I can do it for hours.’ What’s important here might be to ‘analyze’ it, like asking ‘So what does that mean?’ If it’s about ‘playing a game,’ it depends on the ‘type of game.’ It’s like whether you can pour in as much effort as you want to defeat targets and increase your score, or simply spend time immersing yourself in the game’s world I would like you to analyze it in detail In other words, it’s about highlighting the feeling that ‘I can truly engage in this activity without any struggle.’ “The state of being able to work for hours without it feeling like a burden” is truly a mindset to maintain the sense of passion “The opposite of passion” would be something like “it’s a hassle,” right? It’s like saying “I don’t want to” in a more “passive” way… It’s often said that passion can be compared to ‘fire’ It’s like that way of thinking that ‘puts out the fire of passion’ Perhaps the most representative of that is the idea of ‘it’s a hassle’ It’s like saying ‘if you don’t feel bothered, there’s a possibility that passion can arise.’ It’s the kind of task where you find ‘flammable materials and non-flammable materials.’ You can’t just use anything to build a campfire, right? It’s even better if the wood is well-dried and burns easily Isn’t it true that no one brings iron or anything when they think about having a campfire? They bring scrap metal… I wonder if scrap metal can burn if it’s finely chopped? There might be some that can burn, though… Well, let’s set that aside for now There are things like ‘flammable materials’ and ‘non-flammable materials,’ right? It’s about finding those (things that easily spark passion) It’s about ‘thinking of activities that aren’t a chore.’ The third one is about ‘the environment’ or ‘my stance’ Thoughts on ‘the time when I was happy’, ‘the time when I was doing well’, or ‘the time I felt fulfilled’? It’s about recalling the ‘period’ or ‘environment’ when I felt fulfilled I wonder what it would be for me? Maybe when I was a student? I used to watch a lot of comedy shows (The most fulfilling time) felt like I was ‘trying to laugh often’ At that time, I was also really into ‘neuroscience’ and enjoyed spreading those techniques to others (For example) ‘How can I improve my concentration?’ When you’re feeling down, looking up a little can lift your spirits, but it feels like you’re being pulled by your actions, you know? Something like that I used to enjoy sharing little tips with people Also, I made sure to laugh a lot at other people’s jokes When you smile often, people really do come closer, you know? It’s like they think, ‘Talking to this person makes me feel good,’ you know? At that time, I felt really ‘fulfilled,’ you know? It feels like, ‘I often laugh’ and ‘I was sharing useful information for others around me.’ It feels connected to my current activities An activity that was intended to connect? ‘Huh?’ What does that mean? I wonder what they are trying to say?? It is also linked to my current activities Looking back on that (the actions during fulfilling times) has become a sort of ‘foundation’ for when I decided to pursue this activity It has become the ‘foundation of the heart,’ or rather, the ‘foundation of the mind.’ So, ‘passion’ is essentially an ‘emotion.’ “Emotion” also refers to “human emotions”… Isn’t it true that “people are easily influenced by the emotions of others”? It’s not just humans that have the ability to empathize; other creatures have this “empathy ability” as well Emotions “spread” In other words, if the surroundings are ‘passive’ or in a ‘harsh situation where the fire is likely to go out’, it’s easy for one’s own passion to diminish It would be great if there were a ‘strong spark of passion’ that burns brightly, though No matter how strong the flame is, you can’t have a campfire in the midst of a raging storm, right? It feels like ‘the environment is important’ too The ‘attitude towards the environment’ is also important, like ‘what should it be like?’ It’s called ‘attitude value’, you know That’s right! By the way… things like ‘attitude value’ and so on I have a video where I talk about my stance on the environment, so if you’re interested, I’ll put the link in the description, and I would appreciate it if you could take a look I think it might be helpful The fourth point is ‘imagining your aspirations.’ This is easy to understand, right? When the topic of ‘passion’ comes up in various books and other media, Isn’t this (longing) the first thing that comes to mind? Simply thinking ‘I would be happy if it turned out this way’ or ‘I want to be like this’, you know? Just imagining ‘I want to live this kind of life’ makes you feel excited, doesn’t it? That feeling of excitement can also be seen as the ‘source of passion’ or a ‘type of passion’, right? It’s fine to imagine your ‘favorite person’ or ‘someone you admire’ I feel that imagining ‘admiration’ is probably the quickest way to ‘enhance the feeling of love’, ‘raise your spirits’, and ‘improve your mood’ There are a certain number of people who say they don’t know what they like Like, ‘I don’t know what my hobbies are.’ There are people who say things like, ‘I can’t find activities I enjoy.’ It might not be the best way to say, ‘people like this,’ but… It feels like there’s a sense of longing that’s faint, right? Like, what is it that’s interfering with that sense of longing? It might also be related to feelings of inferiority, perhaps Thoughts like ‘someone like me…’ also turn into ‘logic’, don’t they? I think I talked about it in ‘The Antonym of Passion’, You know how you think, ‘Someone like me…’ in a logical way? Like, ‘I’m like this, so that’s why this is the case, and that’s why it’s not good.’ It’s because I’m creating it while thinking about ‘reasons’ and ‘meanings’ that my mood goes down It’s not about that; it’s really important to nurture a simple desire of ‘I want to be like this’ (the sensitivity to feel admiration) To do that, I feel like we need to raise our ‘self-efficacy’ and ‘self-esteem’ I would like to talk about that in another video That’s right, first of all, ‘self-efficacy’ is important. We need to enhance that first In a nutshell, it’s the trust in one’s own abilities, which can be summed up as ‘if you try, you can do it.’ This is called ‘self-efficacy.’ ‘Self-efficacy’ can also be rephrased as ‘confidence.’ It’s the feeling that forms the basis of confidence That’s right, ‘imagining your aspirations’ is the quickest way to go about it For those who can’t come up with that (image of aspiration), it might be that their ‘self-efficacy’ or ‘self-esteem’ is low, so let’s work on boosting that Here, let’s set aside the idea of ‘people without aspirations’ for a moment I feel like introducing ‘enhancing the sense of passion’ by saying ‘imagine your aspirations’ is quite clear It’s really ‘anything goes’, right? It’s important to ‘imagine the future and feel excited’ about it Without thinking ‘someone like me’, just simply think ‘it would be nice if it turned out like this’ It might be good to “write your aspirations down on paper.” I think you often hear about things like a “to-do list,” but it’s fine to start with something like that It might be good to write everything down on paper at least once When you can analyze yourself objectively, or when the feeling of passion or something you love arises, to maintain that feeling, it’s good to regularly recall that paper (list), and I think it’s great if you can feel that ‘passionate feeling’ Well, I feel like next time I might talk about ‘how to maintain a sense of passion.’ This time, I talked about ‘what passion is’ and its ‘definition.’ If you liked this talk, please give it a ‘high rating’ and ‘share’! Also, I will write about it on my blog… I’m doing a blog, and the concepts of ‘neuroscience’ and ‘psychology’ are the same as this channel I’ve also written an article about the ‘passion’ I talked about this time I would be happy if you could take a look at that as well I’m also writing an ‘e-book’ titled ‘Guidepost’ I’ve written about finding your ‘purpose in life’ and also how to discover ‘the sense of passion’ On a higher level, I discuss ‘how to find a sense of mission’ and how to bring your ‘values’ to the surface through self-talk, which includes ‘questions to yourself’ and ‘thoughts to correct your thinking’, or what you might call a kind of monologue I made a list of questions to clarify my own values There are about 120 questions As I work through them, my feelings and values become clearer It’s also at the end of the book, so I hope you’ll take a look at it That’s about right This is today’s summary Passion is simply about being driven by emotions, disregarding logic or meaning It’s a strong desire to accomplish something, a burning passion that says, ‘I absolutely want to see this through.’ It’s about being interested and enjoying something so much that you can lose track of time doing it It’s a ‘state of passion’, isn’t it? Passionate people are ‘quick to act on their ideas’ and are ‘positive and forward-looking’, right? With intense emotions, they ‘don’t get pulled down by negative feelings’, maintain a ‘high-energy state’, and ‘don’t hold back on what they want to do’, right? The characteristics of a passionate person are having ‘perseverance’ and being able to ‘see things through to the end,’ along with ‘action-oriented’ and being ‘faithful to what they want to do.’ They have a sense of ‘speed to take action as soon as they want to do something.’ And then there’s that aspect of ‘climbing all the way to the top with high energy’ or something like that I guess it’s like being able to finish a marathon until the end It’s someone who doesn’t easily get swayed or disappear just because of what others say This characteristic is what defines someone who can effectively harness their passion From a young age, I recall ‘the points that reveal the sense of passion’ one year at a time, remembering ‘the things I liked back then’ and ‘the things that raised my spirits’ or ‘the activities that made me feel good’ one by one I remember ‘activities that I could pour hours and effort into without it feeling like a burden’ and ‘the attitude during times when I felt fulfilled’, as well as ‘recalling the surrounding circumstances and environment’ The fourth point is simply ‘imagining my aspirations’ This includes ‘people I admire’ and ‘the lifestyle or activities I aspire to’ “Anything is fine,” but if it’s about aspiration, If you write these four things down on paper and “create a list to remember them regularly,” then “I feel like the sense of passion lasts a long time.” Especially the first thing I mentioned, “remembering what you liked each year since you were one year old,” is an experience that truly allows you to feel a passionate sensation rising up, so I definitely want you to try it This is at the end of the summary “Points to note about passion.” There are two points to be careful about here The first is to ‘narrow down the activities you focus your passion on.’ Passion is an ‘impulse,’ after all It would be great if that passion could be directed towards one’s activities, but there are also ‘unhealthy activities,’ right? Things like binge eating might also be connected It’s like saying, ‘I’m weak to impulses’ or ‘while being true to my impulses, I can’t suppress them.’ If you can’t control even the ‘bad impulses,’ it leads to a state where the ‘activities to direct your passion’ should ideally be those that are beneficial for your life It feels like narrowing down the target to which you direct your passion The second point is to ‘clarify the definition,’ which is the theme of this video I think if you watch this, the second point will be fine If you just go with the vague image of ‘passion’, If you really start to think, ‘What is the meaning of doing this?’ halfway through, it can suddenly feel like you’ve turned off the gas stove and everything just goes out You might start to think about ‘meaning’ halfway through, you know So first, it’s important to clearly define the situations in which you feel a sense of passion, like saying, ‘This is when I feel passionate.’ It’s essential to clarify what passion means to you, like saying, ‘This is my passion.’ Even if you start to think about the meaning halfway through, If there’s something like ‘this is why I can ignite my passion,’ It feels like ‘even if it starts to fade, I can reignite it right away.’ This time, I talked about ‘the true nature of passion’ and ‘how to find the essence of that passion.’ I really recommend trying to “remember the things you liked” at least once, so please give it a shot Thank you for watching until the end! If you enjoyed it, let’s meet again in the next video! This was Qu-sensei See you later!
