There’s claypot rice to eat It’ll be ready in 15 minutes Of course not in the morning Wait for the staff to prepare the rice noodles for you They all have pork cracklings, but not the very finely chopped kind. Hello, good morning everyone. It’s now 7:30 in the morning. Today’s video Let’s continue to take you out for breakfast Same as before, why have I been taking you out for breakfast so often? Actually, it’s to avoid the rain This rain is really intense It was previously Typhoon “Wutip” Thinking it would leave by Sunday Indeed, on Sunday afternoon That Father’s Day afternoon, the weather was also very nice Then it started raining again Only then did I realize there was a cold front It’s mid-June now and there’s still a cold front The weather this year has been very abnormal Morning rush hour Since it’s not too hot today Let’s go eat rice noodles Ahead is Ling Kee Rice Noodles I’m right in front of Zhongshan 8th Road Just came out from the metro station, Exit A of Zhongshan 8th Road Everyone remember If you ever come back to Guangzhou for a visit You must either take the bus or the high-speed train Hong Kong audience There’s one downside here Which is that no matter which of these two options you choose Actually, getting to Zhongshanba Metro Station isn’t very convenient you always have to transfer at least once but the advantage is First, this place has a strong vibe of daily life. Also, the hotel in front is quite affordable and offers authentic local flavors For example, walking in here leads to Nan’an Village. Nearby hotels, like the ones we often mention, Lavande Hotel at 230 yuan. Walking in there leads to.. Or perhaps this one below Xi’an Hotel 315 yuan Just a bit further ahead And then there’s Hanting This place isn’t too big inside But it’s very neat and elegant, 242 yuan Everything is at the front The advantage is that it’s actually right between two subway stations Or if you want to go to Xiguan again if you know the way it’s not too difficult to walk and the journey is quite pleasant My recommendation is If you get off at Huaxia Don’t want to walk that far? No problem But even if you live in Huaxia, you can still come over here Experience a different feeling Taking a taxi here isn’t very troublesome Unlike in Hong Kong where crossing the harbor costs over a hundred dollars, it’s unnecessary Taking a taxi in Guangzhou is very affordable because everything is concentrated together ahead, everyone can see the Hanting Hotel if you often watch our videos, you would know continuing forward, you can actually reach the Chen Clan Ancestral Hall already Even if you walk it’s not very strenuous or like Yangtao Square as if right here in front Don’t walk so far out, the scooter won’t hit you. Or turn right ahead. That’s Puntong Village, where we went to see the dragon boats last time. Nice. We’re going for breakfast. There are many breakfast places here You can have affordable dim sum I’ve tried it, not that great to be honest But it’s cheap Or perhaps, another favorite of yours is our Wah Hui rice noodle rolls There’s also claypot rice to eat It’s ready in 15 minutes Of course not in the morning In the morning, it’s rice rolls and congee These actually aren’t expensive Can everyone see the double-decker bus across the street? The 107 bus will stop here You don’t necessarily have to board at the terminal and it’s cheap, only 2 yuan This kind isn’t recommended by travel guides They won’t walk with you and tell you what this road is called You can check yourself, just use your phone’s map Just remember it’s only 2 yuan You can ride all the way At Zhongshanba, which is where we just came out from All the way, all the way to Zhujiang New Town Very authentic On the second floor Go all the way along Zhongshan Road From Zhongshan 8th Road, counting all the way to Zhongshan 1st Road Then turn towards Zhujiang New Town As for us, we’ll walk over from here Ling Kee Rice Noodles is right across the street The Xana Hotel I mentioned earlier is right here The benefits of living here Come out early to watch elementary school students go to school I’ve said it more than once Actually, when we travel Many times Going to big cities is often to see such scenes Students going to school How they live their daily lives How do locals commute to work? Actually, this is what we wanted to see So many novel things you didn’t know about See why bicycles can be charged here Take your time to read and understand, that’s all you need. Or even if you suddenly feel like it, you can sign up for a tour at the travel agency across the street. But these travel agencies aren’t among the best ones But actually, I can tell you that they all sell group tours. This term doesn’t sound pleasant, but in reality, it’s all like this. Only a very few, one or two large travel agencies don’t sell group tours. Because they already have enough customers themselves They’re all for sale, especially when you get to the local area. Then there are supermarkets. You can buy some fruits to eat. If you’re staying in Guangzhou for a longer period of time Ling Kee Rice Noodles is just ahead on the left side. I was just walking from the opposite side and now I’ve come over. That spot, let me show you all. It’s right by the Renwei Temple The Renwei Temple is said to worship Wenchang, which is related to academic studies. It’s very efficacious. Many devotees come here specifically to pray for blessings. Hoping their children can perform better in their studies As for this, it’s students lining up to go to school This Xiguan Foreign Language School should be a middle school, right? Sorry, it’s an elementary school This street actually has quite a few delicious foods Besides the Ling Kee Lai Fun I recommended to everyone This one is actually not bad either But it might not be open yet Here’s the ultimate way to enjoy it Buy a box of rice noodles here The noodles can be packed for you to take into the park Eat them while you’re boating Very good because we’ve tried buying water chestnut drink Salty fresh crackers Fried fish skin Eating while rowing a boat, but it’s best to go again in autumn Ling Kee Rice Noodles is just ahead Could it be that they haven’t opened yet? Why is there no one here? There are people, must have seen wrong This is the place Loved by locals and tourists alike My breakfast is here, this is it This one is 6 yuan, the rice noodles are 11 yuan This is the small rice noodle You can get the large one, which costs 14 yuan A must-try when you come to Ling Kee Unless you eat it every day, then you don’t need to have it If you’re a tourist, I highly recommend everyone try this combination This combo features fish skin that’s exceptionally crispy and thin It’s truly unique Morning is better The second one is this rice noodle If you can’t handle spicy, don’t add the salted chili But if you can tolerate a little spice Highly recommend watching because it’s brilliant The savory granules are the essence of the entire rice noodles Now let’s talk about what rice noodles are Actually, the rice noodles in the provincial capital are truly unique It’s different from other places The rice noodles in other places are actually somewhat similar to Guilin rice noodles For example, in Zhongshan, the most famous ones are from Dongguan Actually, what we often call Guilin rice noodles are made the same way all using a utensil to press out the rice noodles but here in the provincial capital it’s more paste-like they use some rice flour pressed out to make it more paste-like and it’s said to have been improved by Ling Kee here from a very young age I’ve already developed a habit of eating rice noodles I remember being around three or four years old at that time There weren’t that many shops back then But Guangzhou’s economy was doing well At the beginning, there will be some self-employed individuals What are self-employed individuals? They are private individuals who become their own bosses and no longer work for state-owned enterprises They would run some small eateries One of them was on Da Nan Road I lived on Da Nan Road when I was little At the spot where they sell flowers above It’s been around for many years specializing in rice noodles just like this exactly what’s in front of me It also has salty bits It’s also a bit pasty But Ling Kee here is a little different Or each has its own merits The rice noodle base is very well made. But it’s missing one essential element—the pork cracklings. Compared to the one at Diyi Jin on Xihua Road, it’s just lacking those pork cracklings but each has its own merits in my opinion, the two best ones actually, there’s a third one but I haven’t tried it At Ling Kee, they add more dried shrimp here You can taste the dried shrimp Second, there are also shiitake mushrooms You can see them here Because it’s very thick Sprinkle some spicy salted grains over it After taking a bite Its broth will then have The savory bits also have a dried shrimp flavor. A little spicy, very good. Plus this. This is not a traditional way of eating It’s my own idea Traditionally, it’s not eaten this way Usually, these fried fish skins are paired with noodles They always have other things to eat as well For example, rice noodle rolls The three-sauce rice noodle rolls cost only 8 yuan Vegetables, beef ball soup, and various options are available After you buy the rice noodles The owner will give you a token You stand here by the sister in purple clothes Wait for the staff to prepare the rice noodles for you Actually, it’s scooped out from the vat It was cooked early in the morning Then scoop some salted grains on the right side Still just as crispy And it also has a fishy smell But I think the best is to pair it with Wonton Noodles Fish Ball Noodles are even more perfect When you wake up in the morning Come over for some Lai Fun Also, even though I came to eat rice noodles while the weather isn’t too hot yet Actually, there’s air conditioning here But as you can see, the front area is so spacious No matter how strong the AC is, it still feels warm It’s better to come in the morning Its rice noodles have a rice flavor Made from rice Thick and paste-like And these can’t be prepared in advance All are handmade There are some that are made to sell well, but those tend to be more transparent Not as tasty Take a look at this It’s opaque The rice ratio is particularly high These can’t be left overnight either Sell as much as we make If we can’t sell it all, there’s nothing we can do The soup base is also very thick Started in the 1980s Guangzhou started to become less poor Actually, by the late 1970s it already was Starting to have more food options Such as rice noodles Different ways of eating are all available Additionally, they all come with pork cracklings But not the finely chopped kind Large chunks, all flavorful but it won’t have that very crispy texture Coming back here, if one person is eating rice noodles You have to resist ordering too much Or if you’re staying for a few days, you can take turns trying different dishes Their beef brisket noodles are also quite good. Having a refreshing rice noodle in the morning is really nice. After breakfast, the kids have already gone to school. Mom and Dad take advantage of this free time Come over for breakfast This is Ling Kee Rice Noodle If you know the way You can also wander through these narrow alleys Onzhou Straight Street If I remember correctly, we can get back to the main road from here The same goes for the front, but we’re not taking the main road Because I want to recommend this restaurant to everyone This is the renowned Xiangqun Restaurant Actually, this isn’t the main branch It’s just a branch location Michelin, chain-style Tire Man is a good thing If you have the chance to come back, I think you should try it Especially if you don’t like eating that kind of chicken It’s what you think, sorry I have to say it this way You think it’s a bit undercooked Actually, this is just fine Michelin-starred chef in charge Also known as Michelin in mainland China Established in 1989 I plan to walk along Wenchang Road Just walk a bit further and turn ahead Everyone will have a chance to come back here Explore more of the old city district Do you all see this street sign? This road sign is good It indicates a general direction rather than small details Actually, it’s meant for drivers Pedestrians can see it too, of course Longzhi West Road and Duobao Road, that’s the direction It’s the same “toilet stall noodles” we ate last week That place called “Sun Moon Year” They’re all right ahead If you don’t like rice noodles but prefer boat congee you can also try this place we usually buy their… Water chestnut drink Water chestnut drink, only 6 yuan per cup Usually come more often in the evening Rarely come in the morning Or perhaps mornings are always rushed because of going for dim sum Today, if not having dim sum, then it’s rice noodle rolls Diagonally opposite is Liwan Lake Park Just as I mentioned earlier, if everyone feels like it You can buy rice noodles there, and even roast goose legs. Then go in, eat while rowing a boat. It’s allowed, not against the law. There’s no law prohibiting you from doing this Next to Liwan Lake Park Just a bit further past Panxi Restaurant That’s where we watched the dragon boats last time We’re not doing dragon boats today We’re walking back towards the market area Turning onto Wenchang Road We’ll start walking slowly from North Wenchang Road Right now we’re walking along West Longjin Road Just a bit further ahead is where we had the “toilet noodles” last time Just a bit further ahead In case some of you don’t recognize it, let me explain That area leads to Fengyuan Road, but that’s not the main point The key point is here Here, everyone remembers last time after watching the dragon boat races during the Dragon Boat Festival we came here to eat The wife is still hesitating, wondering whether to eat or not. Let’s check out a couple more places. I say don’t even think about it, you must go early. This is the place – 19 Yong Delicacies At that time, we had the white-cut chicken, which was absolutely delicious. The white-cut chicken being good is one thing, but what’s next to it is even more amazing. Jin Jin Restaurant Right here, very interesting They always have long queues If you have time Come early to grab those seats upstairs It has a particularly unique flavor Additionally, during the summer season because it’s too crowded with too many customers they will sit outside But what if there’s no air conditioning? No need to queue, and they give you a bottle of soda It’s really good Jinjin Restaurant You should give it a try if you get the chance I think this is the way back to Longjin Road It’s one of the must-try places Again, the question is whether it’s as good as before But actually, it’s gradually… It’s not as… as incomparable as before but actually it’s still not bad Just now when eating, I really wondered why there could be such a great restaurant But after eating it more often, people actually get used to it. Especially when there are more tourists. But I can tell you, There are still many villagers from Pantang Various old neighbors who go in to eat Really have to try it And the shop next door Formerly Third Aunt, Hong Kong people Sometimes when I come back, I buy water chestnut flour here I used to chat with the boss during the pandemic Said they couldn’t keep shipping anymore “Shipping” refers to Hong Kong It should be fine now This road beside us is Longjin Road, which we often walk along Keep going straight ahead Actually, you can reach it this way Tilt a bit, can you see there’s a car? The spot where a bus is coming out Actually, that’s exactly where the Shit Pit Noodles place is located very close Just a little further ahead is the Longjin Road Market Isn’t it convenient? Coming here in the morning has its own unique charm There’s another restaurant on Longjin Road that I can recommend to everyone. It’s this one—Jinjin Noodle House. For wonton noodles. Will come back to try when I have the chance Because next door is Ming Kee Snack Shop It’s literally “shit pit noodles” This is the place, but he often takes days off There are multiple options, you can go there If that place doesn’t suit you, then come here That’s good We have a holiday again today. How do I know? Because last week when I came to eat There was a notice often on holiday came to Wenchang North Road again Wenchang North Road connects to Longjin Road actually behind this Yinji It’s already the Longjin Road Market If you come back and want to try rice noodle rolls You can also come here to try them Especially if you’re overseas The city you live in has rice noodle rolls If there’s Yin Ji Rice Noodle Rolls, it’s worth a try It’s said that overseas—well, not just overseas, in the U.S. Yin Ji Rice Noodle Rolls was started by one of its founders who went there It is said Over there, they have more modern styles, like corn rice noodle rolls and things like that which you can’t find in Guangzhou If you all want to come back and try Yin Ji Rice Roll this one As for Wenchang Road it is located in the northern part of Liwan District North-south orientation Just now we were walking north, on Wenchang North Road If we continue all the way to Wenchang South Road That would actually be the Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street This is undoubtedly part of Xiguan Is there Wenchang Bridge? It seems there was one But it existed in the past, now it’s gone The roads in Xiguan are this narrow There are several subway stations nearby The first one is the Chen Clan Academy Station on Wenchang North Road that we just mentioned If you keep walking south You’ll be very close to Changshou Road Station You can actually understand it Between Changshou Road Metro Station and Chen Clan Academy Metro Station It’s actually Wenchang Road Below is the metro station It’s just a bit off, not this exact spot. What’s there to see on Wenchang North Road and Wenchang Road? Like rosewood furniture. There are many rosewood furniture stores In Guangzhou, there are two places where you can find it One of them is right here Including both restored and for sale These furniture stores won’t make way just because you’re not shopping there It’s not like that After all, it’s rosewood furniture—it’s not something you’d fall for at first sight Of course, you should take your time looking. You might not find anything suitable even after a long while You can learn a lot here Ask the master and have a chat with him The master is happy to talk with you Can’t speak, won’t talk if I don’t speak It’s not like that He will tell you how to identify good quality goods How to distinguish between Ming style and Qing dynasty ones I wonder if everyone knows how to tell them apart, I barely can A few days ago, I was tested by an audience member He definitely didn’t mean any harm, just testing me. My understanding Because my dad really likes rosewood, as those who’ve watched my videos would know. Usually, the wood from the Ming Dynasty tends to be finer Because that tree actually takes time to grow There aren’t enough thick logs to cut it very thin It shouldn’t be like this Its branches would be thinner But the seating area is usually viewed like this. The premium ones are made from a single piece of wood, which is very expensive. The less premium ones, relatively inferior, are joined together. As for those from the Qing Dynasty.. Because its territory has been expanding increasingly You can see there are some jade inlays embedded on it There are paintings on the jade This is how we view it All of these across the street are It’s just that they haven’t opened yet It’s only 8:30 now, they don’t open that early If you want to come check it out like me after finishing breakfast There may be times when you feel disappointed. There is another road nearby. But now it’s not as popular as it used to be. Because Kangwang Road has emerged It’s called Daihe Road. I wonder if anyone remembers it. Actually, walking to the middle of the road will be near there, all selling these things porcelain, calligraphy and paintings old rosewood furniture and such some unscrupulous merchants Cheating those elderly people The younger generation, like us who don’t know better That set of broken tables and chairs left by grandpa Got in the way of selling it, someone came and offered five hundred dollars That would be terrible So heavy, carrying it back and forth If the wife talks a bit more and you sell it, then you’re foolish Those unscrupulous merchants would do just that Tricked you out of a nice set Probably not during the Ming dynasty At least there’s the Qing Otherwise, keep moving forward There’s also the Tianguang District I wonder if they’re off work now Or maybe they get off early when it rains, let’s go check In our Guangdong, I’m not sure about the northern regions Because I’ve never seen it before Guangdong really likes those redwood furniture There are several reasons, it’s quite cool Because the wood is solid, sitting on it feels very refreshing That refreshing feeling is comparable to turning on the air conditioning. Really, because I have it at home. The dawn market is here, seems like it’s already closed. There’s still a little bit left This is how you find your favorite What matters most is that you like it Some bracelets Or some inkstones Not many people today Partly because it’s late, partly because it’s raining Right at this spot ahead Yes, this is the place Put everything inside There’s a lot You can take your time to look Whether you buy or not is up to you It’s only fun when you look Actually, the most fun part is looking, not buying Test your own eyesight Test your own self-control Let’s see if we can break through this psychological barrier. This area mainly features rosewood and some small trinkets. But when you get closer to Wenchang South Road.. there will be more jade I’ll give you an option. Some viewers have asked me before If you return to Guangzhou wanting to try some simple physical therapy or traditional Chinese massage where would be good? I’m talking about legitimate places This one came from the public hospital Public hospitals are proper, their doctors are educated This Liwan District Orthopedic Hospital For example, maybe some neck muscle tightness and pain Everything is great because I’ve been treated there. A very responsible doctor. They offer everything from acupuncture to physical therapy massage. That’s right, this is the Xiguan Orthopedics It comes from its name But actually, it’s a public hospital Remember Liwan District Orthopedics and Traumatology Hospital How to recognize it? It’s very easy It says Liwan District, Guangzhou City What district, what district, followed by hospital Private institutions cannot use these names Not a single word can be used, “bone injury” is acceptable The hospital might not even be able to use it The first few words are even more impossible Mainland healthcare—everyone has probably heard about it Whether they can cure you or not is one thing—that depends on the doctor and your condition but it definitely won’t be expensive, especially these to go a bit further, yesterday I went to the dentist it was in Tianhe actually, that was a private hospital It can almost be said to be the best in Guangzhou Renting there It has many branches Some doctors, of course, don’t have such good experience I might go a bit farther away But in Tianhe, that’s the flagship store in the most central location It is expensive, but a long, long time ago I once went for a follow-up appointment and met an audience member who came back from Toronto, Canada He said to go there for dental care Everything is cheaper than outside Enough talk, let’s keep moving Wenchang Middle Road, this should be considered part of it And if you want to see those jade pieces Actually, you can walk over there, but they haven’t started work yet There will also be some rosewood furniture stores opening one after another If you know what’s good, you’ll go see it Actually, even for rosewood, as far as I know there are many different varieties Or if not rosewood, then settle for padauk as the next best option There are many types of rosewood It is said that yellow rosewood is even more expensive than blackwood In the past, there were still some in the country Now it’s all gone, you have to go to Myanmar or those countries like Laos to find it You might even have to go all the way to Africa And while you’re at it, you can take a look at those old houses up there Is there anyone living here? Or perhaps you used to live around here before? What was this house like in the past? It has a unique charm Even now when I go there, where my grandmother used to take me as a child Looking at those old houses fills me with endless emotions Many of them are still well preserved As for here, it’s also This is still Wenchang North Road Wenchang Middle Road Isn’t it? cat This one also has three Michelin plaques See how hidden it is Only two or three tables Will come back to try when I have the chance Among all the Michelin places, this one has the worst environment It should be, is there anything worse? Let me know. Probably nothing left. If we’re talking about small space, there’s still… The tables and decor are probably the worst. Here is Yaohua Street Walking to Wenchang Road This is also not to be missed But I won’t go in today What will we see inside? Many of the old houses of famous people from the past Those wealthy and influential officials from before Some of them, not all of course They would live here including many famous Cantonese opera performers There was even one Cantonese opera performer who came from the same hometown as me He is an elder of our Pik family. Actually, they’re all here, seems like it’s the shop at the entrance. If I remember correctly, this Cantonese opera celebrity… Whether she herself is famous or not is another matter Her daughter is very impressive. She won the Hong Kong Film Awards, probably the first Best Actress. Very impressive. Many are undergoing renovation projects It seems like ahead here In the future, some of the arcades might be restored After passing Yaohua Street The shops will turn into jewelry and goldsmith stores There are always many ahead This road ahead is Changshou East Road There are several Michelin-starred restaurants We’re not taking Changshou East Road, we’ll keep going straight ahead If you walk along Changshou East Road, turn left to go through It should be Renmin Road If I remember correctly, I should not be mistaken There was a time when Wenchang Road here was also renovated So you’ll see many houses like these in front These residential buildings Some parts, like these very old ones Form a very striking contrast This side continues to be the old shops, like goldsmithing. There are more and more. The sky is about to rain again. So why is it that after going to Hong Kong.. The reason my wife and I no longer travel around is because of this. I can still handle the rain in Guangzhou. But when we go outside, even just to Conghua, it’s already troublesome enough Also, there’s talk about Conghua I often mention an old colleague who lives in Conghua He stays in the hot spring town and has already mentioned there are lychees When the time comes, he’ll invite Wenying I used to eat lychees Let’s see if Wenying is willing to go later Not sure if she needs to take care of her grandchild Let’s keep walking Are there a lot more gold shops now? Further back, they sell jade. One-stop service—all those antique items can be found here. And after passing the middle section.. You’ll start seeing some restaurants There are quite a few, I’ll recommend some to you later The first one is this I’m not recommending this one to you, I haven’t tried it Newly opened Xiguan Hefu Ji Not a very big shop either Large wontons with fresh shrimp and thin wrappers Large wontons The wontons are not authentic But I don’t know if they’re really big enough This is newly opened, worth trying when there’s a chance Authentic wontons are actually small in size And this one has also opened here Huangji Zhanjiang Chicken There’s also a branch in Haizhu District that we’ve tried Turns out it opened in ’99 No wonder Chicken specialty shop Is he also under Zhuxi’s umbrella? Goes by that name, but might not be registered Anyway, it’s still delicious We’ve tried the one on Tongfu Road The second one is diagonally across the street. Can everyone see Xiangqun Restaurant? This is also Xiangqun Restaurant. But this one should be a franchise How do I know? Actually, I know the owner Or rather, one of the owners Because one of the owners used to be my neighbor It’s an uncle, not someone with the same name as me. He’s very close with my uncles and those relatives. We’ve been friends since childhood. There was once a very long period of time Our whole family When dining with uncles and aunts, we always come here Their dishes are very nostalgic The uncle we know He’s a very humorous person. Not one of those stern types with a mustache. How much does it cost? The price is twenty-eight yuan for the five-willow egg, not expensive We often use the Five Willow Eggs as a benchmark And next to it is… That one isn’t it It’s right here, Xiangqun Restaurant So the advantage is actually like this Walk a little further ahead and you’ll already be at the Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street I haven’t seen him for a long time It’s been a long time since I last came here, but I still need to eat. Because back when I first got married to my wife, the kids were still young, we didn’t need many seats Now everyone has their own children who are all grown up The restaurant inside is very small There’s no space to sit, so we didn’t come here to eat If you have the chance, come back and try it, give my neighbor some business We would call him by his name, it’s quite amusing. Not sure if he’s retired now. It’s the brand of cigarettes, we’d call it Marlboro. As for what his full name is, we actually don’t know At least I don’t know Coming to the front here, it’s already the street of Shangxiajiu Everyone should come back and try it when they have the chance See how the products are The owner is very easy to talk to This area ahead is already the Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street This spot right here is Guangzhou Restaurant Actually, Guangzhou Restaurant is very easy to recognize Ahead here is Wenchang Road A little further ahead is my neighbor’s shop Here is Guangzhou Restaurant As for what’s ahead, it’s the place I showed you all a few days ago Macau Food Festival We’re not going today, it’s too early—there won’t be anyone there. Let’s walk back to the right and take the subway. Actually, if we keep walking, this won’t be called Wenchang Road anymore Continuing that section, it should be called Eighteenth South If I remember correctly We’ve already walked through Wenchang Road Wenchang Road ends here at Shangxiajiu You can probably imagine when you come here running north-south and east-west We’ve basically walked through the nearby areas already Longjin Road, Duobao Road Baohua Road Changshou Road Changshou Road is divided into east and west sections Because Guangzhou’s streets are quite interesting Some roads are divided into north and south sections, like Wenchang Road. Or middle The entire road isn’t called by a single name. It’s somewhat similar to, say, Hong Kong Des Voeux Road seems to be divided into Central and West sections If I remember correctly But Hong Kong doesn’t commonly use this method to separate roads Guangzhou does though There’s another very important place – Qingping Road. However, it’s started raining now. Time to head back. The advantage is this – when it rains, we can walk under the arcades In Guangzhou, we’re not afraid of rain Keep moving forward Just like last time when I took everyone around looking for food Changshou Road Metro Station Now you roughly understand the area Actually, as long as you’re around the Chen Clan Ancestral Hall metro station Changshou Road metro station, Zhongshanba it won’t be too far off And there’s also the Ping’an Grand Theater, which we just passed by You can also watch movies there if it rains But here in Shangxiajiu especially this section of Shipu there are very few tea houses where you can sit down and have a cup of coffee There isn’t any I think we should have more of these snacks Drinking coffee is better than buying these, let’s not film it Rainy Guangzhou has its own unique charm It’s not the same feeling as the scorching summer heat Look at those old houses This place has been reinforced It seems like someone still lives upstairs People live on the left side here, built so high There’s another very important part of Xiguan Which is the oldest part of Xiguan, around Datong Road Shanmulang Road There’s also Heping Road, which is just ahead from here We’ll explore more next time, as it’s already started raining There are still many authentic local delicacies over there Next time we’ll go again As for Tenth Fu Road, of course there’s this one Previously met two viewers here They came back from New Zealand, probably from New Zealand Having a great time watching Having a great time eating too And the salty fried cakes are pretty good Won’t mention which one was disappointing Do you want to know which one is wrong? Leave a comment and I’ll tell you Completely wrong This video ends here, it’s time for me to go back It’s raining The weather is bad, it’s 9 o’clock now See you next time, bye-bye Share my video with your friends And remember to give me a LIKE See you next time, bye-bye Bye

Guangzhou Laisin is a traditional rice-based dish originating from Guangzhou, with roots tracing back to the Nanyue Kingdom era. Characterized by its thick, short, and silky rice noodles made from glutinous rice paste, it is formed by extruding the paste through holes into boiling water, creating its signature “lai” shape. The classic broth, simmered with dried flounder and pork bones, offers a rich umami flavor. Toppings typically include dried shrimp, mushrooms, char siu (barbecued pork), crispy pork lard, and scallions. Traditionally served as breakfast or dim sum, it is also a symbolic longevity dish during Guangzhou’s Winter Solstice festival. Known for its comforting, chewy texture, it embodies Cantonese cuisine’s emphasis on original flavors. Authentic versions remain available at historic eateries like “Ling Kee” in Guangzhou.

Guangzhou’s Wenchang Road, located in the heart of Xiguan (Liwan District), dates back to the Qing Dynasty. Named after the historic “Wenchang Temple” (dedicated to the God of Culture), it symbolizes academic prosperity. Divided into North, Middle, and South sections, it once housed clusters of academies (e.g., the renowned Wenlan Academy) and is now globally famed as the “Jade Street,” hosting over 1,000 jade shops and workshops. Specializing in high-end jade trade (notably jadeite and Hetian jade), it attracts daily foot traffic exceeding 10,000 people, accounting for over 70% of China’s jade market turnover. The road retains iconic Lingnan architectural heritage, including arcaded buildings (qilou) and traditional Xiguan mansions like those in Yaohua Street Historic Area, featuring brick carvings and满洲窗 (Manchu-style stained glass). Adjacent to Hualin Temple and Changshou Road Metro Station, it serves as a key hub for experiencing Guangzhou’s jade culture, Xiguan traditions, and Lingnan architecture, with its predawn “Tian Guang Xu” (dawn market) being a unique highlight.
