this is upsetting and shows the problem with competitions like these: it should be played like tony hawk “paint” video game where each obstacle has a “winner” based on points and most overall points and objects wins

It could be just me – but I find this format of street skating really boring.
Sure it’s highly technical and kudos for that, but there’s no flow around the course. Just skate from one side to the next – do some insane trick in a linear fashion and job done.
I miss the flow and creativity of older skaters like Mark Gonzales or Neil Blender.
OK, I’m not hating on the women skaters they have come a long, LONG way recently (and they all still skate far better than me, but I’m no pro lol) but not even two minutes ago I saw Chloe Covells run on this exact same course and there were multiple comments saying “she can hang with the men.”
Now both runs were great, but if you put her run side-by-side with this, it’s pretty clear there’s a big gap still. Again, I’m not saying this to hate on her. It’s just that seeing her run two minutes before this make this one look even more insane lol.
