西安:古代シルクロードへの玄関口 I シーズン3、エピソード2

the city wall was very wide i think it’s probably wide enough for six cars to drive at the same time and this is perhaps China’s only city wall which allows you to ride a bicycle on top good morning everyone welcome back to the channel this is the first episode of season 3 Xi’an the starting point of the ancient Silk Road we’re going to do a city trip today and yesterday we just got everything sorted out and this is our new motor tricycle and just want to show you around that’s the driver’s seat and we got actually another mascot next to Christmas Chicken we now have a little policeman who hopefully brings us luck and safety for the trip Christmas Chicken is in the hotel room but policeman is on duty today and another seat here fuel tank that’s it and before starting the xi’an city walk we are going to have our lunch which is the famous dish Yang-mo-pao-rou Yang-you-pao-mo (lamb soup with bread) It’s here right? Hello I’d like to order Lamb soup with bread Lamb soup with bread Yes One portion is enough We will share one ok 35 Yuan do you know how to break the bread? We’ll break it ourselves we’ll try. That’s also an experience ok please sit down inside ok thank you ok ok the right way to eat Yangroupaomo is to tear it into small pieces and Flo is doing his job Lamb? yes lamb okay so I drink the bowl yes. That’s just liquor do you drink alcohol in your country? yes we do a lot of beer especially which country are you from? i am from Germany there is a lot of beer Germans drink beer We drink Baijiu that’s baijiu? how much percent does it have? 52%. 52%?! so these the neighboring table was so nice they offered me baijiu and it’s very strong 53 percent it’s very delicious but we have to drive still later so we had to drive so Flo just took a little sip Yang rou paomao is a famous dish in xi’an it is this warm hearty lamb soup the meat is four parts tender and the bread chunks soak up all that amazing broth Brother This lamb is outstanding really delicious I love it Thank you we are ready we are ready lets go yongningmen is to the south of the ancient city wall and before that Let me give you a brief introduction Of the city Xi’an It was once the capital of 19, no 13 dynasties including the mighty Tang and Qin and it’s where China’s first emperor ruled where the famous terracotta army was discovered xi’an is also one of China’s oldest cities it has a history of over 3000 years and another oldest city is luoyang and i think luoyang has a history of more than 4000 years we’re in front of the yongningmen now it’s just over there and there is really a lot of traffic on the road our ticket is 54 RMB per person the city wall was built in the 14th century Ming dynasty and this is the core city the administrative center which means to this side of the wall it’s mainly the officials and the royal families and to the other side of the wall it’s mainly the ordinary families who are living there so back in Tang dynasty when xi’an was still called chang’an the city had a population of about one million and this also means that xi’an in the past was way more than the old city the size is about six times as big as what it is now the old city quarter Hello, we would like to rent the bike our next plan is to get a bicycle for two persons let’s start so we are running after about 15 minutes ride now we have reached the other side of the ancient wall and many people are here for photo shooting and as you can see the building is very old the city wall was very wide i think it’s probably wide enough for six cars to drive at the same time and this is perhaps China’s only city wall which allows you to ride a bicycle on top 2000 years ago 138 BC to be exact emperor Wu of Han sent zhangqian from Chang’an to the west that was the first real connection from China to central Asia xi’an as the capital during the Han and Tang dynasties was the place where all the envoys and the trade caravans wanted to end up no xi’an no silk road legend simple as that Do you still want to ride? No ok There you can get your deposit back ok thanks it took us about an hour now our ride ends at the other side of the gate we have to get our deposit back apparently we came too early we came at almost the hottest time of the day, now at about 4:30 people begin to line up for the bike ride i can imagine it’s going to be a really nice thing to do by the sunset i think it’s time for the Beijing bikini i’ve now changed my seat to the back and now i can see that’s the cbd of xi’an and this is the central axis yongningmen Hello Hello i think everyone’s checking on our motorbike and in front of us I suggest we go around the bell tower that’s the landmark of XI’an the bell tower and we are going to rotate around it I would like this tong-guan-rou-jia-mo Do you want it spicey? a little bit how much is it? 12 RMB I also want a bite How is it? very delicious I also want a bite i haven’t had this for a while oh good this one is called tongguan-rou-jia-mo and the dough is layered it’s a little bit like croissant but not exactly the same it’s not that buttery but it’s really good for dinner we got a rou-jia-mo and then a spinach noodle we’re going to share this dish together it’s a noodle with made with spinach juice that’s why it’s so green and with some toppings apparently there are hundreds of ladies beautiful ladies who want to take a picture of this bell tower Honestly, I don’t know If we’re supposed to be in this district but it’s quite chaotic lots of food the night market is on but also a lot of motorcycles and bikes more mini buses like that i guess this is the famous Hui Ming jie so a street of Hui people and it is a gourmet street we just load our bike it’s so full now and today we are leaving for Pingliangxian so if we take the most traditional silk road along the hexi corridor the next destination might be tianshui but Flo and i really want to go to Ningxia Hui autonomous region so we decided to go a little bit to the north and now it’s about 12 pm how long does it take to get there 6h21 arrival should be at 6 pm and 8 minutes without stop so i think it will be rather eight pm or something so wish us good luck i hope we can reach there before sunset let’s start the expedition to the ancient silk road with a little detour through Ningxi Start the bike ok let’s go xi’an’s built up area is massive we literally drove for an hour just to get out of weichun district in the northwest part of the city then we drove straight into the Loess plateau mountains we stopped for ‘breakfast’ when we got to binzhou Do you want chili paste? A bit please thank you thank you what i’m having is a meat ball pepper soup it’s a soup a sticky soup with cabbage carrot beans in it seasoned with with pepper Flo got his favorite watermelon watermelons in China are incredibly delicious so sweet after that we hit the road again and it started raining we pulled into a gas station to wait it out the staff told us it’s been raining like that for days the heavy shower lasted for a couple of hours and then came back again this gas station came at the right moment i would say look at this rain crazy we had to drive through a big cloud and now it’s raining so we went to tank up and wait for for the rain to pass by otherwise it’s going to be really difficult but we are still very far from Pingliang it’s still like 2.5 hours but i didn’t expect rain that’s the issue this morning when we checked it was alright but now once it eased off we got moving again because we’re worried another heavy rain might trap us somewhere by evening near Jingchuan we saw lightning up ahead so we decided to call it a day and stay in Jingchuan for the night we didn’t make it far today eventually we didn’t make it to Pingliang we stopped about 80 km before this is Jingchuan and we got a hotel room it cost 100 yuan per day so we stopped because we saw big thunders are ahead of us and we’re a little bit afraid and i think that’s more or less it for this episode and thanks for watching and bye bye we’ll continue the trip tomorrow

What I love about this app isn’t just the well-planned routes, reliable content, rich cultural insights, and all the amazing local food recommendations.
It’s that EasyGo China truly understands the real challenges foreign travelers face in China—and gives you all the guidance you need to travel confidently, worry-free.
It’s exactly what the name promises: Easy. Go. China.

  2. Been to Xi An. Love this city and the locals are very friendly. This video brought back all those golden memories ❤

  3. 谢谢你们😂 Hello from Ürümqi. I've been in Xi'an few weeks ago😊. Nice to see the views with the drone. My favorite food was the rou-jia-mo. Always said : "bu la"😅. I moved by train to Chengdu. So waiting for your trip north. And west. Take it easy. Don't ride in the 🌧️. …好的?

  4. Hi Guys I am doing also the silk road .I started from Istanbul I am in Khiva Uzbekistan.let me know if you want to me at some point.😊

  5. When I saw the notification on my phone, I thought it said Little Cheese Everywhere, hahaha… This trip you're doing is really interesting and fun to watch. Hope you are doing well.

  6. What a wonderful beginning to the Silk Road adventure! Xi’an truly feels like a majestic blend of history and modern life — those ancient sites look incredibly well-preserved, like stepping into a living museum. 🌏🏯In places where history whispers through the stones, beauty walks beside every step.

  7. Glad you guys back on road again. Have a safe journey and teach us culture, foods and history on this Silk Road.

  8. I am from Central Asia and I remember learning about the first Chinese delegation from Xi'an to Central Asia by Emperor Wu in 138 BC in my history class in the 7th grade. It was also mentioned that the Chinese delegation was impressed by Central Asian horses.

  9. Thank You Yan & Flo for an Awesome Adventure Great to See You Two Traveling and Exploring again. 🙂❤💙👍Safe Travels 👍

  10. As always, I enjoy watching your adventures and now your husband accompanies you which is fantastic.

  11. hey you often say ''two persons"" while u should say ''two people'' ! love your videos, we always watch your videos !!! 🙂

  12. There is actually a place in Xian that used to be a camel trough in ancient times. But I don’t remember its name.

  13. Love the old city walls, but it is a shame what as happened inside the city walls, In France there is a place where the town walls are compleat and inside the walls it is like if it was the 15th century, modern buildings are built outside the walls, maybe this is what Xi'an should think about doing

  14. Dearest Yan, I adore your videos from the beginning! But now your voice is synchronised into German and it’s very is upsetting not to hear your own lovely voice! If at all possible, please make the necessary change so I can hear your own voice again!!! It is not possible on my side to make the change. Thank you very much for trying! Eva

  15. Just curious if the both of you would consider renting a car for certain parts of the trip?

  16. Good Luck, sweethearts! Collect a silk and keep a little bit for us, please!
    祝你好运,亲爱的们!收集丝绸,留一点给我们吧!

  17. Wow !! Because of you, I can virtually tour china . Thank you. What an amazing country?! Love from Tamil Nadu. India..

  18. Very nice video. I visited Xi'an in 2018 and loved it especially the city wall. You two make a cute couple. Your bikes look cool.

  19. I know China through the work of respectful and informed influencers. But none of them have shown me what I like most about traveling: direct dialogue with the Chinese people as you do. I still marvel at your time in Yunnan and Tibet. While I enjoy previous seasons, I prepare for new adventures. Good luck to Yan and Flo on your trip!!!

  20. There’s so much great food to be had in China. But, I wonder, how hard is it to find dishes that don’t contain meat? I’m vegetarian and would love to visit China, but it looks like almost everything contains meat.
