And what a great site this is, the return of U Darvish, his first start of 2025 of the San Diego Padres’s about to take the field. Well, when his name was announcing lineups was a big roar. We’re going to wait and see right here as you was getting ready to go and the fan reaction. Oh yeah, Brett, we got it. You got it. We all got it. He’s ready to go. Here we go. So you Darvis returning. First time we have seen him since game five of the NLDS last year. Look at his numbers from last season. Yeah, it is really good to have him back. The adrenaline’s got to be pumping. I don’t care if you’re a rookie or a 10, 12 year veteran for you Darvis. 16 starts last season. 73 really good numbers. Boy, a healthy U Darvis is what the Potter’s absolute need in the second half of the season. Swinging a miss. Stroke him out on that curve ball. Carol number one down by way of the K. Right out of the gate, U. Darvis has got the feel for the old number two. Uncle Charlie is in the house tonight. The old Yaker, the hammer for the punch out. This is to short. And not only is it great to see U Darvish back on the mound because of what he can bring every fifth day, but take a look at this. This is where he ranks among active pitchers. 220 batting average, fifth fifth fifth best in baseball, the 10.6 strikeouts per nine, the low whip. All these rankings in the top 20 of all active pitchers with minimum 200 starts in Major League Baseball. He’s got the credentials, but even more importantly, guys, is he has the respect of his teammates. And one of the things that he does so well in that clubhouse is he not only sets an example with his own work ethic and guys watching how he takes care of himself physically and how he prepares for games, but what he does to help his teammates. He spends more time than anybody else, watching the bullpens of Dylan CE, watching the bullpens of Michael King, going over their videos, talking to them about what he’s seeing in their starts. This team is so excited to have you Darish back, guys. not just because of what he brings on the mound, but what he brings to that clubhouse and what he adds to the entire pitching staff. So, great to see you, Darvish back on the mound. And bud, you made a great point earlier. You recall last year when he came back after missing a lot of time. He acknowledged that in that start he had some butterflies. He had a little bit of adrenaline going. Probably the same thing today. We’ll see how far he can go in this ball game, but he looked really sharp in the first inning. Sorz at second, McCarthy at first. A run in what is now a tie game here in the Diamondback second inning. Waves at the sweeper. Third strike out for you Darish. Try to bounce back after the walk to McCarthy. Now it’s McC. Look at the front side of MC as a hitter. That front side really opening up. Can’t get to it for the swing and miss. There’s Alec Thomas, the center fielder, who jolts one towards left center. And I’m quite sure the fans will let him know what they think of him as he comes off. His first outing of 2025 is over for you Darish. That’s crazy. [Applause]
