Naomi Osaka vs. Yulia Putintseva | 2025 Washington Round 1 | Match Highlights
her first ever clay court title. And even though it was [Applause] [Applause] Oh, lovely acknowledgement from Aaka. Oh, beautiful. And what a winner that was in the back hand to the clay in France this spring. Well, left the court open and Naomi had spotted it. That’s too good. 15. One, two, second set. 15 lock. That’s another good shot. Could win it. Oh, lovely. And even though she was expecting it, even though she was there, it was just too quick for her. And you have to [Applause] There’s another one of those backand winners swept away. Oh, that’s great. Too good. Save the break point in some style. Huge draw. Those behind knew exactly where that ball was heading. They could see it straight as a die all the way down the line. needed that one, didn’t she? She will have the break point. Only a fourth point in the last 13 that she’s picked up. Oh, that’s just outrageously good. Well, the backhand’s been sensational today, but how good was this forehand? Now, after the debacle a little earlier in the set. Yes, she’s made it. And that’ll be good enough to win a match point. Naomi Aka is through to the second round in Washington after a hard earned victory against a very stubborn and determined opponent. But the crowd go wild as she seals it in straight sets. 6275. That was an excellent workout for a Saka. Good way to start the hardcourt season. The switch from grass never easy. She started much the better. Three breaks to one in the first. And how popular is she? As popular as ever. Twice US Open champion. Four time slam champion. Takes it 6275.

there's no way Osaka should be losing to someone like Putintseva!!😂😂😂
Two great things about this match:
1. This is a FAST surface and finally players can make winners again and not have to stay back and rally all day.
2. Putintseva is just the worst WTA player there is, a totally bad sport and profane person. I always love when she loses.
So sad Putintseva lost 😂
Oh no Emma is going to destroy my girl Naomi. The fact that Venus just won should be motivation for players.
Nice crowd! 😁
This camera angle is atrocious!!
YAY! Go Naomi! 🎉
That was a horrendous camera angle. Couldn't even see the player on the far side of the net.
Osaka's movement is so much better on hard courts compared to grass/clay.
I hate this camera angle. Please dont let this become a thing
Well done Osaka🎉
Amazing! Couldn't love this more. The best sport beating the worst sport.
That cockback she does when returning the top spin shots. Oh yes lol!
Stay positive now Saki👏🏾👏🏾 you got this!
so there was a break in set 2 that had putintseva serving for the second set…and y’all just kept it out? the atp recaps are so much better, jeez
This is the Osaka I like. She looked determined, focused, and her hitting was phenomenal in regards to getting the win.
That's why Osaka is former 4 time hard court Grand Slam champion (2 times in Australian Open champion and 2 times US Open champion) and Putintseva isn't. Osaka showed in this match why she won those Majors.
Put it in seva
I'll be honest. I only came to see the handshake 😂
Naomi looks super slim and fit. Her work with Patrick is paying off.
When Osaka is in the flow it is insane. When she dips it's a bit wobbly. I thoroughly enjoy her sportsmanship and the applaus she gives whenever the opponent does something great. The only things I miss at the moment are her insane angles from the baseline. So looking forward to her next match.
THIS is naomi osaka
Well done by Osaka. Very precise ground strokes and a lot of nice short cross forehands 👌 Taking strides on her way back 👍👏
final Venus – Naomi is coming…
Tennis can be dangerous sometimes because one bad slip on the ground can cause ankle injuries and so much more.
La nana di merda ha perso 😂😂😂
Обзор камеры -дюрьмо собачье 😂
To whomever compiles and edits these videos: please take a leaf out of TennisTV's book and show not just a compilation of good points but include important ones as well. There is a narrative of a match that fans would like to follow – for example in the second set we went from being on serve to suddenly Putintseva serving for the set – turns out Osaka had lost serve just before but it takes a while for us to realise until we look at the score and work it out, meaning we cannot just concentrate on enjoying watching the video. Even the break back point itself wasn't shown! Other channels even show breaks points saved, which demonstrates the tightness of the match or basically points where the match was won or lost (e.g. a player having multiple break points opportunities but failing to convert them). A lot of your videos would be greatly improved if you provided a context/narrative of the points and match, even if the important points themselves were not great points to watch.
She is not comfortable on grass
UE are low now , her defense has improved, her movement is good. At this point she might go deep in the tournaments again.
What… a Yulia match with no drama? Tennis TV will not survive like this.
Thx Naomi to get this Karen out ^^
Putintseva losing = im happy 😊
Putinseva..grotesque..plus rude and disgusting personality..shouldnt be allowed..but hey ho this is the woke world we live in
Great work Naomi ❤❤❤
No crying on the court now

Osaka fans are the funniest 😂

Osaka's prime was in 2018-2021.

Naomi is GLOWING !!!
Can't stand this 'Japanese' woman – slagging off anglo-saxon/ American culture and continuing to live there and reap all its benefits!
