  1. Osaka looking slim and trim now…running better so her whole game is flowing. You've got to have good foot speed in the moderngame of tennis. You can see how gaining some weight like Ostso has will make singles much harder.

  2. Most people would say that Naomi’s turning point was when she sacked her former coach. I think her turning point was the match against Samsonova; where she was down 5:4 in the second set and saved 4 match points to win the second set and eventually win the game. I think being on the edge of failure and bouncing right back can work miracles sometimes. I told my friend she will win the tournament after that match. I really hope she does.

  3. Naomi Osaka hasn't played this well since before she made that foolish decision to have a child at the height of her successful career.

  4. Perfectly smooth and clear hitting from Osaka, never seen her playing like this, less unforced errors… I think it's all in her mind.

  5. Have not seen nor heard from Sevastova for years! Has she been around and I didn't notice, or has she been lower ranked, injured, or other?

  6. Osaka just has to keep working hard, not get frustrated & believe in herself. With a good draw, she can contend at the U.S. Open.

  7. (GREAT WIN) BY NAOMI, STAY (FOCUS ON TENNIS) & NOTHING ELSE. I COULD SEE, AT LEAST (EIGHT MORE SLAMS) IN HER. STAY FOCUS, NO DISTRACTIONS. (GOOD LUCK). 💪💪💪.

  8. I’ve always liked Naomi’s playing style. Here’s to hoping she will have a deep run at the US Open.

  9. Though many had called it, it's clear at this point that Patrick was clearly not meant to coach Osaka. This is the most controlled and patient I've seen Naomi hit, possibly ever? And to win this match with such dominance, score line and length of time in under an hour? Though Sevastova also did not play well, it's good to see Naomi not drop focus as she might have in the past. I truly hope she keeps this up. I'm always rooting for her, even when she's not her best.

  10. It seems like Naomi Osaka has been winning more ever since she adopted a simpler style with her hair and outfits.

  11. Osaka was great the last round too. Her level of play is extremely high atm. Great to see her playing up to her potential again.

  12. Osaka had it too easy here. Can’t really tell if she’s shown much improvement. Sevastova’s groundstrokes didn’t have any bite, giving Osaka huge opportunities to just unload on her in almost every rally. Future opponents won’t be as generous.

  13. Seva got brutally stomped by Osaka. Remember she's won matches against her when she was playing at her best. To get thrashed like that means Naomi is clearly on the right track. The motivation to win is back.

  14. This shows how dreadful Pegula has been lately to lose to Sevastova. Sevastova has horrific ground strokes, a very basic backhand and an absolute Frankenstein forehand.

  15. That look of focus and concentration on Osaka’s face for most of the match, I’ve seen it before but not in a long time… she’s got that mamba face. I know Kobe is looking down and smiling seeing her regain that killer confidence. She is looking deadly.

  16. Seriously now? Osaka played against a 35 yr old player who is at no 400 something…. it wasnt a great performance, her opponent played too bad and that`s how this result came. I like Osaka but i prefer to be realistic about it, nothing like her old self…
