    That's all very nice of Shoma, I mean it. And yet it makes me wonder in what world 1 individual silver and 1 bronze combined with 1 team silver at Olympics makes one more decorated Olympic athlete than 2 individual Olympic golds. I mean, it is not just about the numbers, it is mostly about colours, lol. I am pretty sure Shoma himself would easily trade 2 of his for one of Yuzuru's any day. Calling Uno "the most decorated" is obviously just a PR stunt, nothing more.

    The problem is "the most decorated" in English does not refer just to the number of medals. Maybe it is about translation between Japanese and English by the Olympic website as while Shoma won more medals in quantity, Yuzuru as a double Olympic gold medalist is obviously "more decorated", and "the most decorated" of all Japanese skaters, no doubt about that.

    They’re showing equal love to Yuzu and Shoma. Also, Shoma doesn’t usually comment on his own awards. Yuzu and Shoma are two of the greatest figure skaters in Japanese skating history. Yuzu was the first figure skater to have two golds. Shoma was the figure skater to have three medals. Most athletes would trade silver for gold, but Shoma is happy with his results when he does his best. He’s more focused on winning against himself. Comparing these two is like comparing apples and oranges. They’re both great in their own ways.
