Elina Svitolina vs. Naomi Osaka | 2025 Montreal Semifinals | WTA Match Highlights

ranked player in the world and she saved three match points in the second set on route to winning. Tremendous length from both but eventually too much the semis of one of these events. Another clean winner from that corner struck a bit. Something that if she if she’s late then it’s under pressure. [Music] This is going to take some winning, isn’t it? For one or the other. Great play from Osaka. Just such a well constructed point. Could do with improving her first ser percentage because when she’s got that in, she’s won every point. But that’s only four. Oh, that’s uh the famous forehand club at that one. Perfect line and length. Stunning again this time from Sitelina. You know would bring its reward but one more too many. That is where the set is decided the first to take a set off Sitina this week. She does it 6-2. New coach, new uh inspiration. Better depth from Osaka. Really has been Oh, awesome. Another point where she just took charge, didn’t she? Very smart, very accurate. Again, that’s what goes through Sitelina’s head. Yeah, much better shape and play from Switzerilina. You could see she created that some spin and play deep. Another victory for Naomi Oaka. What a week she’s putting together. But she won’t want to stop there. She’s into the semifinals in fine style. And that is a fifth win against Fitilina, a player she’s beaten more than any other on the tour over the years. An abrupt full stop for Spitilina’s hopes this week, but still some good tennis again this year, making another quarterfinal, but plenty of love going from to the fans and from them to her. And it will be very interesting to see how far she will go.

  1. Naomi Osaka is my girl!!! When she won at the U.S. Open in 2020, I was hooked! Haven't enjoyed a pro athlete since Julius Irving, Dr. J. played!

Just a nice, humble young lady with big game. Everyone doubted her(except) me and I knew she'd come back. She looks fit and ready to do her thing again. She had a baby, got fit and probably got pro mental coaching.

Naomi, don't let ANYONE stop you!!! You are an awesome young lady and a great tennis player!!!!!!!! Keep going forward!!

  2. I want to see Osaka absolutely unloading on her forehand and backhand and getting the balls deep into the court and near the baseline. You are Naomi Osaka, you are a 4 time slam champion. You can outhit Svitolina. I am happy to see Osaka playing so well though. I never doubted her talent, it was her hunger and commitment to the sport that I doubted. Kind of like Raducanu tbh. I want to see Osaka enjoying the competition and cherishing the time she has left to play competitively and make the most of it. A healthy, match fit, confident Osaka would be such a great addition to the playing field. Imagine the battles she could have with Swiatek and Sabalenka, and Gauff (if Gauff is having a good week).

  3. I used to hate Osaka as I'll never forget her for her wins against GOAT SERENA, but since she's erratic as f# I kind of think she's sweet. Don't get too excited though. I want Serena's records safe! 😅

  4. Svitolina was out there just hitting around, rarely went for winners and most of the time hit it right back to Osaka.

  5. Naomi's self discipline took her over the line. She has everything and definitely needs more that to be at the top again. Well done Noami.

  6. I'm just glad Svitolina beat Anisimova only to get smashed by Osaka. Because she wouldn't have survived either against this Naomi. Sounds like she's on a mission. Mboko vs Osaka final would be NUTS. But Big Clara stands in her way.

  7. That's right. The player who attacks should win, not just throw the ball over the net and wait for the opponent to make a mistake. Svitolina, by the end of her career, apparently wanted to get Wozniacki's laurels.
