Naomi Osaka vs. Linda Noskova-Match Highlights | 2025 Wuhan Round 2 | WTA Match Highlights

Nicely finished off on the backand for the opening service hold for Naomi Saka. [Music] [Applause] That’s a stunning return from Moscow. Well, a really good robust back after a a fairly forgettable swing in Australia. Ah, good point. Great point. Great use of the angle. That was a difficult one to execute. [Applause] Yeah, and that’s exactly what I touched upon earlier, that ability to And the T. [Applause] [Applause] That’s delightful from Noskova. That’s really calm, levelheaded tennis. Likewise on the followup as well. That’s a superb display of power hissing from both players. Good evening. Another eye-catching victory for Lindon Oska who may well be in the mood to go deep once again in the Far East. A finalist in Beijing recently and now she’s taken care of Naomi Asaka as well. Another top 20 victory, this time as a top 20 player herself, Linda Oska.

  1. Osaka can hit hard and with lot of depth. But she is not willing to make more changes to the game. Other hard hitters (Sabalenka, Amanda, even Noskova) are willing to be patient and try all sort of shots if their bang bang game is not working in a day. Osaka can no longer blew opponents off the way she did at her peak during 4 GS runs.

  2. YAY for Linda! She is playing amazingly well recently and I hope she can keep improving and getting deeper in grand slams next year!!

  3. the women's game evolved so much in the time osaka was away from the game. from being the most powerful player on the tour she is now only one of so many consistent hard hitters on the tour. must be very hard for her to digest this reality.

  4. Can someone confirm? (I'm only a tennis spectator, not a player):

Linda Noskova has similar service motion/technique as Sharapova?

  5. Once again, had Naomi, or Noskova played with more variety, thr results may have been slightly different. Both are hitting thr ball at an eye watering pace and neither thinks of just slightly breaking up the rhythm with a slice or a dropshot

  6. Linda, vycházející fenomén.😅Ďábel bez kopyta. Mohla si vyhrát i finále, ale Pegula ti sebrala hodně síly. Věděl jsem, že to v tobě je. 🙂👍🔥🌹♥️

  7. I dont know what it is about Linda Noskova, but she reminds me a lot of Kim Clijsters. I just cant put my finger on it. Anyway, really hoping Linda finds consistency and self-belief, and if that happens, I can see her winning slams soon.

  8. Where is she finding all that energy and stamina to compete and win one match after the other especially so many hours spent on the court these past couple of weeks? Keep going I guess, Linda.

  9. 大坂選手は、ダブルスをプロとして出場しない(数少ない?)プレーヤー。練習のつもりで10年前から出場していたら、ショットの多彩に進歩があったろうにと思う。

  10. Naomi is right there, she just needs to convert more of those break point chases and she needs to develop a net game. Congrats to Linda for having variety and staying calm.

  11. Her movement/timing at the forehandside is ecxeptional, even at high speed she manages sometimes save time. She beat Osaka, she could beat Rybakina as well.

  12. Labubu girl just couldn't get her Labubus in line today, the recalcitrant little critters seemed to have a mind of their own! Maybe she forgot to feed them or something.

  13. Naomi doesn’t seem to enjoy the process of competing.
That isn’t a slam on her, she is a mother now, she’s had some experiences on court that seem to have triggered patterns of passivity and fatalism, and from what I can see, she hasn’t decided to travel with a mental health coach, as Swiatek and others have. It’s a career that has hollowed out because the right decision or solution hasn’t been implemented yet.

The funny thing is, it was her idol, Serena, that handed Naomi her greatest trauma, egging on the privileged moronic us open crowd to attack Osaka in New York. In some ways, I don’t think Naomi ever shedded that experience.

She needs to travel with a sports therapist. And if she already does (which I doubt) she needs to find another one.

  14. I'm happy for Noskova. No one wants that weird Osaka anymore, who doesn't even congratulate her opponents in the finals and also gives that ugly smile when her opponent makes mistakes.

  15. This was some extremely high level tennis, Only 6 total break points attempted and 1 made in the entire match. 1 point was the whole match literally and Noskova went 1/2, Osaka went 0/4 on breaks.

  16. People are overlooking the point here that it is Noskova who is now on a high at the moment and hence the win. That's all really. Nothing about Osaka's level since she's on a comeback and going deep in majors.

  17. Once Osaka lost that first set, you could see the fight go out of her. She wasn't going to work too hard in that 2nd set. You don't see that give up attitude in Swiatek or Gauff.

  18. Strangely, despite Osaka losing, it felt like she was in control of most of the match. Not until the penultimate game did she face break point. Her serving was that strong. It felt like if Linda lost serve that was it, especially coming off a quick turnaround of her Beijing run. And yet she held firm when facing break points. The intensity and aggression that was lacking in the Beijing final was present. She traded hard hitting rallies with Osaka and won most of them. Most people, me included, thought the fatigue would catch up to her, and not that she’d win a three setter and two more tiebreaks to improve her tiebreak record to 16-4. (Only Sabalenka has won more.) To be fair, Naomi beat herself in the end. In the service game she lost she committed three bad errors. Only one of the points was a forced error, Noskova hitting a deep return that resulted in Osaka backhand in the net. And in the tiebreak, she hit tons of errors. I don’t think she held serve once? But credit to Linda, who was just as dominant (technically more dominant) on serve, even though she lost more points on serve. A gutsy, sneakily good win for Linda nonetheless.

However, this might be the end. With Rybakina and Sabalenka in her way just to get to the semis, a deep run is a tall task. If she makes a run here it’ll truly be impressive. Not only would it be cool to see her do back to back deep runs, but if she won the title she’d be on the cusp of top 10. But I’m realistic lol.

  19. Terrible highlights. Only two Linda highlights in the first set, which was 7-6? (Set point doesn’t count, you HAVE to show that, plus it was an error.) Overall, Osaka must’ve had three times the number of highlights, if not more. Lame. At least they showed 2:22. Watching live I thought “they’d better include this in the highlights video.”

  20. Linda Noskova is doing amazing work on tour recently and her game has evolved tremendously and from the look of things, she is not very far away from the top 10 players and grand slam champion if she maintains this level.

  21. Osaka is keeping this zen look on her face at all times. I do not think that is the face of a champion. You have to channel your emotions and use them to get hype and attack your opponent. She will never reach the top 10 again trying to be Japanese Zen.

  22. Czech-mate! As an American, I am impressed that there are so many quality players from a fairly small country.

  23. Noskova was in the finals of Bejing..she was in practice and playing at a high level. Osaka is not at the level she left the US Open. Too much downtime.

  24. Yonex for the win!

The depth in women's tennis today is fantastic. Naomi is coming back after taking time away to have a family, and is ranked 16 in the world after being a world #1 and being a GS champion. Linda is currently #17 in the world. Such a quality match, with winners everywhere, and forced errors due to sheer power. Some of the winners were just unreal.
