[JAPAN] Taiyo Ayukawa Tribute – Stage Actor
Background music: “One Thing” by One Direction…; thanks for letting me use this music.
This video introduces you to Mr. Taiyo Ayukawa, one of Japan’s top Stage Actors. Taiyo was born to Japanese parents in Tokyo. At his mother’s behest, Taiyo began working as a baby model during his early childhood and engaged in numerous extracurricular activities, including dance, swimming, and mini-basketball. He first developed an interest in Johnny’s—the talent agency—after being taken to concerts by his mother, a devoted fan of the group TOKIO.
In 2001, following a successful audition, Taiyo joined Johnny’s & Associates, making his professional debut in the entertainment industry at the age of 10. That same winter, Taiyo was selected as a member of the group Ya-Ya-yah. In May 2002, he made his CD debut with the single “Yuki 100% / Sekai ga Hitotsu ni Naru Made,” the theme song for the NHK anime series *Nintama Rantarō*.
In 2004, Taiyo appeared in the seventh season of the drama series *3-nen B-gumi Kinpachi-sensei*, playing the role of Takashi Kozuka, one of the story’s central characters. Alongside Hikaru Yaotome and Kota Yabu, Taiyo was recognized as part of the “Kinpachi Trio” and received the Best Newcomer Award at the 8th Nikkan Sports Drama Grand Prix. Inspired by this experience, his passion for acting—and his desire to pursue a solo career—intensified; consequently, Taiyo went on hiatus in 2007. Subsequently, he left Johnny’s after seven years with the agency and transferred to a different management firm. He is a graduate of the Performing Arts Course at Horikoshi High School.
In 2011, Taiyo made a television appearance on the TV Tokyo program *Yukie Nakama no Aoi Chikyu 5*. That May, he performed in the stage production *Tumbling Vol. 2*. From this point forward, he shifted the primary focus of his career to stage acting. In 2018, he transitioned to working as an independent artist; later that year, he signed with the agency S Co., Ltd.
In 2024, Taiyo announced via his X (formerly Twitter) account that, effective that same day, he had departed from S Co., Ltd. (now known as Aria Entertainment Co., Ltd.) and would henceforth be pursuing his career as a freelance artist. He still enjoys stage acting and is doing well as a stage actor.
Thanks for watching…; please give a massive thumbs up! My videos are sort of related to each other, so enjoy others as well. Peace out… to all the beautiful souls out there in the world. Cheers!
