No, May 5, 2025 is when she was dismembered. It is not when they believe she was killed. The prosecution alleged that she was killed on April 23, 2025 the same day she was last seen going into David's house.
Celeste's parents knew where she was. In Jan 2024 her family reported her missing or as a runaway when she was 13. The Riverside sheriffs department traveled to Hollywood Hills and picked up Celeste and returned her back home. They knew exactly where she was, who she was with and the address where she was found, D4vd's. Her parents knew where she was. She was not attending school for an entire year. Two things can be true at once. The person who did this to her allegedly David, is responsible for murdering her, but under the law a parent is responsible for their minor child. She also came back home on a few occasions, so her parents were aware that their minor child was with David and not attending school. They are lucky that the state is not pursuing charges against them. Celeste was failed by many, including her own parents. But only one person, unless others are later charged, is responsible for her death.

Law enforcement is powerless when it comes to runaways. It just boils down to children coming to their senses and making a decision to stay with their family. If law enforcement picks up a runaway can identify them the best they can do is take the child home if the want to go home. They can not be made to go home to their family.

So supposedly the parents have visited his home before and they knew they were dating and if that is true, which I hope it’s not then the parents are definitely somewhat responsible for letting their daughter date an older man who basically took advantage of her. I saw it on another video that they had some type of evidence that had proof that the parents had visited the home and also her friends and other people were aware of their relationship. I also find it weird that the parents never came forward and I feel like they’ve been kind of hidden and it’s just weird…. But then again I’m not 100% sure I’m just going by what is being said.
