YOJIMBO now streaming on FilmStruck – www.filmstruck.com
The incomparable Toshiro Mifune stars in Akira Kurosawa’s visually stunning and darkly comic Yojimbo. To rid a terror-stricken village of corruption, wily masterless samurai Sanjuro turns a range war between two evil clans to his own advantage. Remade twice, by Sergio Leone and Walter Hill, this exhilarating genre-twister remains one of the most influential and entertaining films of all time.

Never had seen this scene before, amazed how great it is
Toshiro Mifune… the ONLY person man enough to rock a Manbun. Everyone else looks like a pussy!
Edit: Youpuke cautioned me, lest my comment offend anyone.
They hired a new dirt fan operator that day…
Hector Salemanca
Even more studly,
Fighting in shower shoes & socks!!!🫡💪🏻
Who was the big futhermucker who looked a lot like Shinohara Shinichi?
かっこえーーー!
Extraordinary film-making. Just pure cinema for the sake of cinema.
60年前子供頃全く知りませんでしたが、この頃の脇役は勢達者のおじさん達の宝庫だったんですね!
No blood.. even the cloth doesnt tear from the sword 😅
Uh.yeah. whatever you say.
if the guy with the gun knew what was good for him he'd have fired the moment he was in range
Kill Bill V.1: When he forgives the boy.
A fist full dollars: The duel of one against many. When he frees the old man.
The good the bad and the ugly: When he cuts the rope.
Then I found out that Kurosawa sued Sergio Leone for plagiarism. He won the lawsuit and made more money for this movie than he could for Yojimbo.
perfect
I can't believe the guy brought a gun to a sword fight… what a dumbass.
that boy whom Mifune let to escape is the same boy at the beginning scene who left home and his parents to become a though guy
Everyone in the fight scene died so quickly with the exception of the lead nemesis. Seem to take him an extraordinarily long time to draw his last breath after a futile attempt on the lead actors life. And a rambling of dying thoughts going through his final moments. Vintage performance. Bravo.
dhuhhhh!!
never know if its comedy or not
ジャイアント馬場?
I'm guessing Mifune is the guy that show up around 5:50?
Did Toshiro ever met Clint?
The print on the gunman's yakuta is amazing.
Everyone's gangsta until Hector Salamanca appears and starts banging the drum.
Never nuke a country twice! Cause here we see the outcome.
That dudes face at 2:20 (lower right) cracked me up
Dude on the rope has a snooze:)
The Inspiration for A Fistful Of Dollars.
I remember the scene when a door opens, geishas come out dancing to seduce Yojimbo, and he has this really irritated look like "Really? "
Actually realistic how they act super confident and then once he fucks them all up, the last guy realizing he has no chance is scared shitless. I don't know how realistic it would be that one guy can kick half a dozen people's asses, especially when one has a gun, but the psychological aspect is realistic and I buy into it as a watcher. I really need to see this whole movie, it's been on my "to watch" list for a long time now but I just haven't gotten around to it.
My stupid ass looked at the thumbnail and thought I saw Danny DeVito
For this first time i was dissapointed because i was waiting for some cool moves, but actually it's cool enough how he Sanjuro barely moves and he got them all
There's a goodly amount of nuance in this that Westerners will miss, you should make a point of watching the whole movie.
Gerçek savaşçılar
Gówno …….. nic nie rozumiesz…..
Arikawas early Influences were American Westerns! It goes full cycle.
I think Akira Kurosawa is greatest movie director in the world of course
