Yuto had a more well rounded run I think, Sora had more excitement but those transitions got no love ha
He linked his entire run with none of that step off the board to set up for a trick that just has always bothered me with contest skating. The level of skating is so high these days that most of these pros can crush mid level transition just as good as the street obstacles. There just something so much more aesthetically pleasing about watching a skater go from one obstacle to the next by staying on his board the entire time and and using the transitions at each end of the coarse to do a trick which then sets you up for your next trick. Don’t get me wrong Sora is the shit and he definitely put it down but Yuto also killed it and his effortless style and back and forth flow of his entire run was a thing of beauty. Like a Sunday stroll through the park (pun intended).
Hard to chose a winner between him and Sora. Both deserve it, both very sick runs.
This was the winning run, he hit the quarters & the hydrant, making it a much more well rounded run. And the fact that it would of been a first time 3peat, they blew it!!
This should have won. He didn't step off the board and kept flowing. Tricks were well rounded like a piece of art and he added some new tricks.

Just watched his winning run from last year and he did the exact same tricks up and down on the small section rail.
Either one could have won. This was much smoother and flowy, but Sora had some bangers too.

I thought this should have won. Sora had no transition skills, less flow, less style, stepped off his board a few times and nearly bailed the landing on his 3rd trick. The only knock on Yuto is the double bsts's

Yuto practically does the same run every comp he enters. He gets boring and predictable. Judges need to stop rating him so highly

Meh Yuto had more flow and just skated everything.. But I understand its hard to judge between these 2 runs. They had incredible 🔥
