Who is FL? I don’t know if I’ve seen her in other dramas. I’ve seen the ML in many dramas.

Very good drama but not a fan of cliffhangers 😂 only because we don’t know when. All in all still good wish there was more romance but that’s just me. 👍🏼
2FL name
This is the 2nd adaptation of the novel that I've watched, both are good in very different ways. I like how this adaptation sticks closer to the original novel, with a more solemn atmosphere throughout the drama.
One thing though, the ending. Open ending is fine, but not like this. Either cut out the grandma's part and ends it @2:43:27 or skip some plots and add 1 more episode for the wedding.

🎉This was an incredibly well-done slow-paced C-Drama with stunning visuals and an interesting storyline. Such good cinematography, editing, cast acting and a solemn but utterly moving plot but did not have a satisfactory ending.
I had shed a few heartfelt tears for the FL. Yang Yi Mo portrayed her character very well; in such a believable manner. It was quite heartwrenching to see that the FL was so unloved and treated so unfairly by her family and others. It was good that she was loved by the Empress Dowager and had her support since the beginning. The FL also had good maids by her side. At the end of this short, I really wanted the FL to be able to live her own life…far, far away from ALL those that hurt her. 😢
This C-Drama starts with the FL narrative explaining past events which sets up the plot. The FL was reborn and cleverly sets out to change what had happened to her in her previous life. The path/route she chooses not only enables the FL to survive the malicious schemes by her hateful mother, vicious and envious female cousin (who is really the illegitimate daughter of the FL's mother), weak and stupid older brother (who is really the illegitimate son) but to thrive and eventually reclaim everything that she was entitled to as the legitimate elder daughter in the Luo Family (Master Hou) household.
The FL's mother is blatantly hateful to her own biological daughter (FL) because she does not love her father. The mother admitted that she even used contraceptives when she served her husband and that the conception of the FL was never intended as she did not want to bear any children for him. The mother resents the FL and instead of caring and loving her, she blames the FL for everything.
The evil mother repeatedly declares that she owed her niece (who is really her own daughter with the man she loved outside of marriage) the life that she deserves as the real daughter as she had suffered for many years outside and that the FL did not deserve that life as it was enough that she gave birth to her and owed the younger sister. This was such a crappy rationale. Whenever any of her schemes backfired on her, the evil mother would always blame the FL or others. I would give the "Mommy Dearest" award to her.
The FL's fake cousin (the illegitimate daughter/FL's younger half-sister) is a selfish, calculating and malicious biotch out to ruin the FL and take away everything from her. She and the hateful mother were constantly scheming against the FL. I kept rolling my eyes whenever this vicious 🍵 would address her mother as "Aunt" in the presence of others but would call her "Mother" in private.
The FL's older brother is cruel, useless and obnoxious. He is a cowardly secondary character. A waste of space. I would have found some way to get rid of him early but I know that cannot happen with him being the only son and all. Darn it. 😅
The General (FL's childhood sweetheart) was another stupid secondary character. He fell in love with the FL's fake cousin/real half-sister)!? Probably foolishly believed that she was a kind person. I know that it was the evil mother's idea for her beloved daughter to possibly get married with the General. He also bullied the FL.
The father is another stupid and unlikeable secondary character that only cared about his self-interests and maintaining a "harmonious" family home. He did not care about the truth or all the malicious plotting carried out by his own wife. He does not seem to really care for anyone (well maybe except for his own mother).
The grandmother seemed to be the only supportive individual in the family but even she had her shortcomings. Towards the end, it appears that she deduced that the older son and cousin may actually be the illegitimate children of her DIL as they looked nothing like her son but rather the DIL; however, this was not declared openly with anyone present.
There wasn't much romance in this one and not enough scenes with the ML. He seemed indifferent and was rather cold with the FL.
There was an interesting secondary male character that could have been a potential suitor. Saw him briefly in both lifetimes.
Unfortunately, this C-Drama ended abruptly. I don't like open endings but it looked like the ending left some hints and laid the groundwork for a possible second season!
I certainly hope that they do a sequel and tie up ALL the plot points for the storyline. Praying for a satisfying happy ending for the FL.

This is the first drama that I watched in full and didn't skip to the end. Everything is just great 👍. The cliffhanger at the end makes me want to watch more. I hope there's a continuation of this drama.
This drama totally focused on fl revenge and its so beautiful if you wonder why there is no ending because its still not completed maybe in future the remaining story will be released
This version is so much better than the other one I’ve watched. Love the acting, cinematography, how smooth the storytelling is, & Chen Zhengyang 😄
