現実逃避をした日のVlogーモチベーションについて話します/Japanese Talk #8
Hello everyone. I’m Akane from Akane ‘s Japanese Language School. In this video, I speak at a natural speed and without intentionally using simple vocabulary. My videos have subtitles in 15 different languages. Please try watching the video with subtitles in 15 different languages. And YouTube has a feature called transcription. The transcription feature allows you to select other languages. If your native language is available, please watch this video with the subtitles. Today I’m going to talk about how to stay motivated. Recently, I’ve received a lot of comments asking, “How do you stay motivated?” I filmed this video in late March. In Japan, a new semester and a new academic year begin in April. With new things starting in April, we are receiving many enquiries from people worried about maintaining motivation. I will have more new work starting in April. It’s something I’ve always wanted and wanted to do. However, when I think about it starting in April, I feel both happy and anxious. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how to stay motivated. I will share my thoughts with you. I don’t know if this will be helpful, but it will also help you practice your Japanese listening comprehension, so please listen to the end. Actually, I’ve been lacking motivation lately. It may have to do with the weather. I’ve been busy lately. Now that I’m so busy and have so many things to do, my desire to escape reality has only grown stronger. I have an appointment to meet a friend today. Before I meet my friends, I go to a certain place. It’s a station I’ve passed by many times, but I’ve never gotten off the train there. It’s a beautiful place, so I go there for a change and talk about motivation. Come with me. “Press the button next to the door and get on.” I arrived at a station called TAKEOKA station in Chiba. Take a look at this. There is no one here. I go to the ticket gate. This is an unmanned station. There is no station staff here. I’ll touch my SUICA card here. If you have a ticket, please insert it here. I arrived at TAKEOKA station. This place is even more beautiful when the weather is sunny. It has been raining since this morning, and the rain just stopped. It’s still cloudy right now. But now it is gradually clearing up. This is the exterior of the station. There is a waiting area, vending machines and toilets inside. The views around here are amazing. There are mountains here, and you can see Tokyo Bay from here. The train is coming, so I’ll talk to you after I leave the station. The sky is clearing a little. I talk about motivation…. There are insects here. Here are three things I think about and do when I’m feeling unmotivated. The first way is to not trust yourself tomorrow. Let me explain what that means. If I don’t want to do it today, then I probably won’t want to do it tomorrow either. So I think I should do it for now and take tomorrow off. Haven’t you all had times like that? What you don’t want to do today… Here you can hear the crows. “I don’t want to do it today, so I’ll do it tomorrow.” But tomorrow I won’t tackle it. If I don’t want to do it today, I’m sure I won’t want to do it tomorrow, so I’m going to tackle it now. If when I think about it it changes how I feel, then I try to address it then. If you think that’s impossible, then try this. The second method is to “acknowledge that you lack motivation and change your mood.” Everyone has times when they just don’t feel like doing something. There’s nothing you can do if you’re not motivated. Everyone has times when they feel unmotivated and can’t change it. Don’t beat yourself up when you don’t feel motivated, just acknowledge it. When you feel unmotivated, tell yourself, “It can’t be helped, sometimes I just don’t feel motivated.” I recommend meeting up with friends for a change, like I am doing today, or going to a place of nature to give yourself a break. It’s hard to keep trying. It’s great that people keep trying. It’s important to take a break every now and then. When you ask yourself, there are times when you feel distressed or unmotivated. At that time, it is important to do what you like, pamper yourself, and give yourself a reward. This is the third method. One thing that helps you stay motivated is to think about extrinsic and intrinsic motivation. This is something I studied before becoming a Japanese teacher. I was reminded of this recently and started thinking about it again. I will explain what I just said. “Extrinsic motivation” is motivation that comes from an external source. In the case of work, it means “working hard will increase your bonus, so work hard.” Or, “I work hard because I don’t want my boss to get angry with me” is an example of extrinsic motivation. That is when students study. “Putting effort into doing your homework because you don’t want to forget it and get scolded by your teacher” is an example of extrinsic motivation. And what is this intrinsic motivation I just mentioned? If it’s work, it means “putting in the effort because it gives you a sense of accomplishment and helps you grow.” In the case of studying, it means “putting effort into something because it’s fun or you’re interested in it.” When the action itself is a spontaneous motivator, that is intrinsic motivation. This applies to a variety of things, including work and study. I believe that both extrinsic and intrinsic motivation are important. The balance between the importance of each of these may vary depending on what you do. However, the balance between these is also important. This is something people think about differently. You don’t believe what I just said just because I said it. Intrinsic motivation is important to me now. I work as a freelancer, so making money is important to me. I’m interested in the number of subscribers and plays on YouTube and Podcast. It’s hard for me to continue working hard to increase my subscribers and earn a lot of money. I find it hard to stick with something unless I’m in the process of growing through intrinsic motivation. The same is true when it comes to studying. “I’ll work hard because I want my teacher to praise me.” “I don’t want to get scolded by the teacher, so I’ll do my best.” If those are my goals, I won’t work hard if my teacher doesn’t praise me. Because teachers see many students, it is difficult for them to praise only one person all the time. The same is true when it comes to work. If you work in a team, everyone is great. However, it is difficult for a boss to praise everyone on the team every day. Extrinsic motivation is certainly important. But I think one way to stay motivated is to think about your own intrinsic motivation and build on that. When you’re unmotivated or can’t maintain your motivation, what do you think and do? I think there are ways to change your own way of thinking. People have different ways of thinking. So what I just said is not everything. Please let me know in the comments what you usually do or think. There are many crows here. Is the sound in this video ok? While I was shooting the video, the sky started to clear up. Please wait a moment. Can you see this? I’ll move a little. The sky has cleared. My friend came to pick me up by car. Later today, I’m going to a cafe called NON in HAMAKANAYA. That’s where I shot the video earlier. Please watch this video. This is a video I took of TAKEOKA Station on another day. When the weather is good here, you can see the ocean clearly and it’s a beautiful sight. Is it okay if I include your voice in the video? It’s been a long time since I last saw you. thank you. My friend arrived on time. I’m going to the cafe now. I got in my friend’s car. This is my friend’s hand. thank you. We are going to the cafe now. thank you. The scenery along this road is beautiful. This is a stuffed turtle that often appears in my videos. That stuffed animal has appeared in your videos many times. She also cooperated with me in filming the video “Japanese to Use in the Car,” so please check that out as well. This road is beautiful. I arrived at the cafe. What you see there is a cafe called NON. The sky has cleared. The sky is foggy and fantastical. I go into the cafe. I ordered FUTTSU nori and shirasu peperoncino. My friend ordered the creamy bacon and mushroom pasta. Information about this cafe will be listed in the description section. I’m going to get some coffee later. I have previously introduced this cafe on YOUTUBE. This is a cafe called “CAFE Edomons.” Information about this cafe will be included in the description of this video. After lunch, we went looking for a place nearby where we could go see the cherry blossoms. I’ll show everyone the cherry blossoms. This is a cherry tree. The cherry blossoms are in bloom. The cherry trees are not in full bloom yet, but they will be soon. These are cherry trees. Here you can see the mountains and there are no people. There are cherry blossoms blooming on the other side too. As expected, the cherry blossoms are beautiful. These cherry blossoms have some buds, so they may be in full bloom next week. Thank you for watching today’s video until the end. Let me know in the comments how you keep everyone motivated. And if you have any stories you’d like me to share, please let me know in the comments. Thank you for watching the video until the end today. See you in next week’s video. Goodbye.
Thank you for your cooperation in filming.

For me the biggest problem is not having anyone to talk to. I live in Japan, and use language apps, but Japanese are so cold an uninterested, I have even met some people for cultural exchanges, but got blocked the next week when I tried to talk to them again. It's the same thing all over again. I just want to take N2 and be done with Japanese and go for Chinese next lol The socialization in the Chinosphere is completely different, everyone wants to talk!
Arigatou gozaimasu akane sensei 😊❤🤗🇯🇵
Akane teacher, ❤~
Excellent 👌 ❤
