村上虹郎【SPIRITS OF LONDON~紳士の街と服と酒~】
[Music] heat [Music] don’t Don’t die all right [Music] fashion gentleman huntsman oh Kingsman [Music] welcome to Huntsman thank you [Music] so Huntsman uh we’re bespoke to tailor we were established in 1849 and we moved to Savo Row in 1919 so just over 100 years now so last year we celebrated 175 years we are what you would call a classic English bespoke tailor we have Yeah you should be able to see a few um so you have that’s Kennedy up there i think Roosevelt’s also up there somewhere i think somewhere here is is the Lake Charlie Watts from the uh from the Rolling Stones all sorts of film stars and and politicians and important VIPs throughout the world so every Savo house will have their own style um Huntsman we are our heritage is um riding wear so we were originally breach makers so the the trousers you’d wear riding a horse oh and then so our jacket is based off what’s called a hacking jacket m so the hacking jacket was traditionally what you’d wear on the horse so we have very two very long vents at the back longer than usual i would say we’ve been doing it you know a version of this since time but it sort of I think it really took off once we we had ready to wear um which would have been in the ’60s I think because traditionally Savo Ro was quite an intimidating place to shop cuz it was by invitation only nowadays you know with the help of you know things like the Kingsman franchise and times changing where we can’t as a business you can’t run with that sort of exclusivity of having by invitation only we’ve had to sort of evolve and be a little bit more sort of that adaptable to the times there’s one in the fitted room if you want to have a look yeah [Music] oh wow [Music] so in the cabinet here you have the orange jacket from the second movie um I think this was one of eight because there a lot of them got damaged during filming so this one has a little bit of you see a little bit of scuffing there on the on the on the cuff from um when when stunts were performed and then the changing room we had to remove the little handle here cuz from all the the visitors who try and pull the handle to try and get to the secret room downstairs yeah they would think that you pull the handle and then it opens to the secret weapons room the oldest thing we have in the shops is probably some breaches upstairs in in our club room can we see you can see them yeah we can show you [Music] huntsman club so secret members club so cool so once you um order with us at Huntsman you become part of the the Huntsman club let’s say so this is like a room that we have that we give to all of our clients to use as they wish um we’ve had events up here you know dinners um meetings that kind of thing free to use but um but also it’s it’s a nice sort of private space for you know fittings if you want to just have some time out to get away from the busy streets of London uh the oldest garment we have they were actually Henry Huntsman so from 1849 yeah so it’s a case of one person’s Rubbish is another man’s treasure so for us they’re our most valid valuable um piece of garment that we have so classic is something we would define as timeless something that doesn’t go in and out of trends and style it’s something that is an investment it’s a piece where you can pass it on to your children and the and all the generations to come and that’s what we try and aspire to at Huntsman to have a piece of clothing that can stand the test of time speech speech speech [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] sip Smith hi there hello nice to meet you welcome i’m Niji i’m Jared jared Brown i’m founder and master distiller of Sip Smith [Music] but this is Sipmith’s Distillery here we make gin jin is actually the spirit of of England this this simple distilled spirit with juniper and other botanicals was born in London in the 1600s the difference between just gin and London dry gin is a big category of spirits flavored with juniper juniper is pine cone oh it’s from the pine tree london dry is a style that was created in London mhm and is a beautiful balance of juniper citrus and spice mhm and smell oh oh so when we distill with juniper we use a lot other ingredients in gin we use just a little bit because of the intensity of flavor between the botanicals but the art of making gin is written on the wall behind us in distillation we begin warming the still slowly in the morning and the temperature starts coming up oh this is the gin and in the morning it it tells us because here we smell orange and lemon from the citrus in the afternoon we smell almond and cream and that is the finish after that it come the high alcohols which big distilleries sell to perfume companies to bind aroma to your skin but may I offer you a taste to smell of course I know I please step up first let me get us a glass of water when you’re tasting any spirit or wine it is best to have a sip of water first oh so that it clears the pallet cheers come by come bite that the first thing you will notice is it is warming but it does not burn good spirits warm bad spirits burn it is a quick judge of the art of the distillation this recipe from 1639 was too modern when you compare this gin to the one from 1639 it was even more modern because it had strawberry and raspberry it was a pink gin thankfully with natural fruit the color disappears quickly because I have a distillery I was able to also make that gin from 1639 and I will offer you a little taste if you like but this gin proves Jin was born in London you have good pallet oh yeah because here I used the spirit that you would put into a barrel to make whiskey that that was the best spirit they had in the 1600s yeah that’s true thankfully now we have much better spirit the peaceful and a a classic is something that can be timeless something that would have been or could have been appreciated hundreds of years ago could still be appreciated hundreds of years from now but I always turn to the words of Antoine Zana Zuperi author of Little Prince who said “Perfection is achieved not when there’s nothing more to add but when there is nothing left to take away.” We have the swan Mhm as our emblem and I will come around and point the stills to show you the swan’s neck here we have our three stills the pot still has the pot the helmet mhm and then the swan’s neck and well the swan is a symbol of England and the king is the owner of the swans in England thank you so much too thank you [Music] london oh hi welcome i’m good to meet you Sam how you doing yeah you very good thank you very good nice place [Music] we like to think of ourselves as sort of the sort of the modern take you know trying to bring Savo Row into the future you know with a fresh approach but still keeping it traditional and doing everything the traditional way but just in a in a new Yeah we definitely like to you know we’re the youngest Taylor on the street so you know we want it to be a bit more fresh open you know break some of the old barriers that the street may have had very classic uh so we’ve actually uh got something for you um if you wanted to follow me downstairs we can give something a try and uh and have a look sounds great let’s go special one here we go after you so we’ve got here for you one of our classic navy suits this one absolutely classic Savo style one button very elegant um and this is all yours so if you want to give it a try wow then we’ll take it yes of course yeah and we’ll have that out for you [Music] perfect looking good good yeah come out this way okay [Music] what do you think [Music] it’s cool looking good so this is a a suit in our house cut so you got details you’ve got only one button mhm the pockets are slanted backwards a little bit oh gives you a little bit more shape through the waist mhm the cloth is a lovely flannel it’s a navy flannel wool so it’s really really soft um a little bit warm um in a nice dark blue um all the button holes done by hand so they’re all functional oh which is a nice detail everything is everything is done by hand m um so it’s about 80 hours of work goes into making it 80 hours [Music] something very clean sort of no frills um just doing the you know the basics properly so we just like to sort of reinterpret that you know to a modern to a modern sort of taste thank you so much my pleasure absolutely great great great you look great thank you absolute pleasure thank you [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] gf gf Trump trumper [Music] good afternoon Mr i’m Camila i’m going to be looking after you today welcome to our emporium thank you would you like to go through yes wonderful okay [Music] so we keep it the same just little tidy up okay traditional the English English way english way [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] so it’s a traditional English pomad classic do you sometimes use pomad it’s got mascara not really not really what do you use this only wax or like pomade is wax but the tradition traditional name for wax is pomade is a soft one i think very soft it’s good yes the George of Trumper started in 1875 and he was King George V’s personal barber that’s how he became so and then we’ve carried on the royal tradition since then and then from he created his fragrances his hairdressings his shaving creams [Music] relax and then we use a little bit of seaweed facial hydration cream and if you notice you don’t massage you just tap just tap [Music] and this way you don’t go out with so much oil on your face oh just to clean and then for you we put the classic James Bond fragrance oh yes it’s gorgeous though very good the scent is sandalwood black crown cardamon carowway oh viva and oakmos it’s okay it’s done wow you like it yeah i love it i’m good [Music] thank you [Music] thank you sir well Mr just had a classic but classic could be anything from James Bond to Steven Fry to Justin Bieber anyway it’s each style because we get the young guys they want the same the Justin Bieber haircut you get some guys they want the James Bond look and you get all the guys classic could be changed to a modern twist but classic is timeless always even my haircut is a classic haircut but a timeless classic haircut shall I show you the fragrances would you like to see of course let’s go this is the James Bond fragrance in the book in that one diamonds are forever and Casino Royale the old that corner is all James Bond and what do you like woody woody woody then sandalwood you have sandwood sandalwood you have Oh very nice that’s nice i like it i like it i love it yeah gentle it’s very subtle havana Havana oh wow [Music] just like Foreign speech foreign speech foreign speech [Music] that’s it [Music] [Music] how are we doing today i’m very well thank you lovely stuff good to hear it not too bad at all just yourself yes take a seat please thank you so I’d like to have a gin oh absolutely what’s your recommendation i think the best recommendation there is is always going to be a ginatonic it’s about as classic as we can get in terms of drinks mhm [Music] swift thank you you’re very welcome enjoy there we go [Music] oh good that was funny good lovely to hear that in there go beef pizza so it is the quintessential classic London dry gin has everything you want within that style of spirit it’s going to be nice light classic what everyone will go for really it touches all the aspects of a London dry and works great within something like a gin toilet or really anything else beef eater being a London gin that is made still in London has a lot of ties to London based identity and this here is what we would call a bee eater they are the London tower historical guards you still find them dressed up like that outside which is funny in this day and age but adds a little bit of quintessential London characteristic to what brand is ties it in into kind of the flavor and idea of what we have behind the spirit absolutely i mean everyone knows it everyone uses it it is the go-to and for good reason i’m quite a classic person so if I was to be having something else with gin it would be a gin le classic be a gin and tonic or it would be a martini wet 2:1 lemon discard martini lemon yeah sure [Music] [Music] doug Oo oh oh classic means timeless it means something that has been made way before we are now but still holds relevancy today it’s something that has a balance that just works it’s not specifically tailored towards anyone it’s something that everyone can enjoy be that a drink or anything else thank you Tom you’re more than welcome thank you very much thank you so much for today enjoy the rest of London have a nice day you too [Music] fore [Music] foreign foreign [Music] fore [Music] foreign foreign [Music] [Music] she [Music] Hi be right [Music]
