ダルビッシュ有の感動の復帰マウンドに大興奮の現地メディア「選手が彼の復帰を楽しみにしてたのよ」【日本語字幕】

Fore speech. [Music] This is [Music] cute. After taking two out of three from the Rangers, the Padres’s are ready for a four game set against their divisional opponents, the Arizona Diamondbacks. But the biggest buzz tonight, U Darvish making his 2025 season debut after missing the first part of the season with elbow inflammation. The veteran returns just in time for the final home stand before the All-Star break. We welcome you on inside the ballpark. Mary Loose Cook alongside Mike Pomrades. Welcome to the Padres’s pregame show. We appreciate you joining us tonight. And you Darvish making his 2025 season debut. Very exciting for the Padres’s for sure. What kind of jolt do you think it can provide to this team, his return, especially at this point in the season? Well, I think in fairness, we have to see how he feels and he’ll have to tell us, I think, after this is done, just how he feels because there’s a lot of cautious optimism, I think, right now in the clubhouse. What you get tonight is only part of the equation and want to see how long he can go into this season. And so it all begins tonight, but I think a lot of folks are very hopeful as are we. Well, we are certainly very hopeful. Yeah, like you’re saying, fingers crossed for you tonight. We look forward to his return. You talked to the guys in the clubhouse and they’re certainly excited to have him back. So, with the exciting news of Gu Darvish starting tonight, we had an opportunity to catch up with Mike Schill on his expectations for his 2025 debut tonight. He’s very important part of our club. Obviously, the performance piece is big. We’ll get him out there tonight, see what it looks like and, you know, evaluate how much, you know, how long he goes. But, um, just having him back, you know, the thing about Darvis, similar to Joe, but in different ways they go about it. Um, they’re very strong leaders in our clubhouse. Um, and and you does in a very lowkey, uh, Demure manner. Um, but he does have a presence in our clubhouse. But having him back and being able to do both is really important to us. I think here’s the thing to remember about you, Darvish. If he didn’t feel he were ready for this stage, he would not be out there. He’s a very proud man, 38 years old and a ton of innings on that arm. And only he knows truly how he feels. But I talked to Arizona manager Tory Lavell today and he said, “Look, we expect him to be a tough customer. We’ve heard that you is going to go out there, maybe not try to throw as hard as he typically does, where he’ll often sit in the mid 90s. We might see him in the low 90s tonight, but he knows that Arsenal is pretty good.” And Tori told me there is maybe no one better at manipulating a baseball in the league still than you, Darish. What does that mean? It means when the ball’s in his hand, he knows how to spin it and get strikes, quality strikes with a variety of different pitches as you see there. That puts the hitter in a spot where they cannot definitely guarantee what they’re going to see pitch to pitch, never mind location to location. So, he moves the ball around, spins it really well, and still sits in the low 90s. It’s going to be a very big night for you, Darvish, and a big day tomorrow for this team as they evaluate how he comes out of this start tonight. We’ve heard tonight he might go 65 to 75 pitches. Hopefully that gets him past the fourth inning, maybe even into the fifth if he’s able to be efficient, but it’s going to be a nice test and great to see him back in that brown and gold. Definitely wonderful to see him back. He’ll be making his 20th start against Arizona tonight, his most against any club. Hopefully Udarvish and the Padres’s K9 today. in it. A welcome sight tonight in San Diego as you Darvis returns making his first start since October the 11th. That was NLDS game five. Corbin Carroll back at top the lineup for the Arizona Diamondbacks just off the IIL. He has 20 home runs this year. We welcome inside broadcast everybody. I’m Don Orsel along with Mark Grant. Welcome to Padres’s Baseball presented by Major League Baseball. Well, it is a welcome site to say the least. the first time in 2025. U Darvis will tow the rubber tonight for the San Diego Padres. Donnie, a very exciting night. A lot of anticipation on the right-hander Udarvis. Boy, it’s really good to have him back. And for San Diego, a healthy Udarish will pay dividends because he’s got the really good stuff. Can hit his spots. And you talk about the history against the Diamondbacks. Nine starts since 2022. 6-1 under three RA. Look at the whip and 50 strikeouts, 53 innings pitched. Tonight, he’s going to go around 70 pitches. But I tell you what, they’ve got a good lineup. the Diamondbacks. He’s got the adrenaline pumping tonight. Let’s see if he’s hitting spots tonight. And he’s got that velocity that we know U Darvis has. And certainly important. They took care of business in the first one. And what a great sight. This is the return of U Darvish. His first start of 2025 for the San Diego Padres’s about to take the field. Well, when his name was announced during lineups, there’s a big roar. We’re going to wait and see right here as you is getting ready to go and the fan reaction. Oh, yeah. Brett, we got it. You got it. We all got it. He’s ready to go. Here we go. So, U Darbish returns. First time we have seen him since game five of the NLDS last year. Look at his numbers from last season. Yeah, it is really good to have him back. The adrenaline’s got to be pumping. I don’t care if you’re a rookie or a 10, 12 year veteran for you Darvis. 16 starts last season, 73. Really good numbers. Boy, a healthy U Darvis is what the Potteries absolute need in the second half of the season. And stepping up to the plate for the Arizona Diamondbacks will be Corbin Carroll. Stepping up to the mic with the playbyplay is the voice of the San Diego Padres’s. Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, give it up for the one, the only, Don Oscar. Donnie, thanks very much, Budley. Here we go. Game one of a four game series between the Padres’s and the Dbacks from San Diego. Norman Carroll, former rookie of the year, standing in the left side. U Darvish’s first pitch of 2025 is grounded foul and we’re underway. Well, Darvish back at top the hill for San Diego. Did not realize it was going to take until July the 7th to be able to make that statement. One thing for sure is that you Darvis knows his body of course better than anybody, right? He wants to be 100% out there. had some rehab assignments last time out through 61 pitches, 64ish if you want to call it that, you know, around 65, but looks like he’s getting ready to go. Keep an eye on the velocity and the location early on for you. Good pitch, curve ball. Had him off balance. 0 and two. Oh, this looks like the old uh do drop in. Good spin, good location. And Carol way out in front of that one. That’s the 12 to six right there. Y and O2 coming up here to Corbin Carroll and off the end of the bat. Sound like he fractured his twig. Hey, that’s a good sign. First of all, avoiding right the sweet spot was reaching for that sinker down and away. That means tremendous movement off the end of the bat. Hence the broken challe. So one got to put some sticky stuff on there. It’s good to go. Coming back here with a count of 0 and2 to Corbin Carroll. It’s always fun to watch you Darvis twirl, isn’t it? Absolutely. Yeah. You never know what he’s going to throw. I love it. So many options. Yeah. It would be nice to have him in the first inning throw 12 pitches or fewer. [Applause] Swinging a miss. Struck him out on that curve ball. Corbin Carroll out number one down by way of the K. Right out of the gate, U Darvis has got the feel for the old number two. Uncle Charlie is in the house tonight. The old Yaker, the hammer for the punch out. So one down and Purdomo standing in. Waldo Purdomo the shorts stop batting out of the two spot jumping on the first pitch. First fast ball he sees at 96 carves foul. I like it. 271. Nine homers, 59 runs batted in. We highlighted the offense for this Diamondbacks team and really that is what they are known for for the most part this year. This is to short. Bogarts was positioned perfectly and had to get it there in a hurry. for Doma down the line pretty quickly and successfully so for Xander. Two down. Well, if you forgot and you need a refresher course, here is the menu of pitches for you Darbish. It’s all out cart. Order anything you want because he’ll throw anything anytime, anywhere. Slider all the way down to the cutter. There you see the percentages. Top four are pretty much the ones that he throws a lot. But the beauty of this is that he might have the feel for the splitter. You saw the curveball down lower. Well, he’s got a good feel for that tonight early on. Six pitches, five different pitches. Nice. That’s a good sign. He starts off Guriel Jr. with a sinker. Was Julie Guriel, his brother, was on the Padres’s earlier this year. [Applause] Pitch in there for a strike to even the count of one and one. That’s a slider. I tell you what, he did the oldfashioned flamingo right there. He held that leg kick for a good two or three seconds. U Darvis did staying over the rubber nicely and then exploding towards the home plate. Waves of the sweeper. That’s a good one. As I mentioned, going to focus on velocity and location of the fast ball. But how about this location on this sweeper right here down and away for the swing and miss. Very, very nice. Did he go? Yes, he did. Brings him up. Second K of the inning for you Darvish. 10 pitch inning. Darish. He struck out Carol to begin the inning. He closes the inning by getting Guriel Jr. Another milestone that he reached tonight as well. Now, another exciting part of tonight, I think, despite the fact that the Padres’s did not come away with the win was Darvish’s return. What What did you make of his return tonight? I think you can easily get caught up in a little bit too much hype if you’re casual about just the I think the outing itself or at least o not overly critical. You would say what I said and that is this is a guy who’s shaken off a little bit of rust. It’s been a long time since he’s been on the mound. I thought he manipulated the baseball pretty well. He even touched 95 96 which was nice to see but you can’t expect a guy to have that long of a layoff and be razor sharp. This wasn’t about tonight for you Darvish. That was just more mental to get out there in front of all of these fans. But it’s more now about the physical. How is he going to feel tomorrow? Can he make his next turn in the rotation hopefully perhaps before the All-Star break? Those are the moments of significance as far as you Darvish goes because it’s nice to see a guy pitch well now, but you’re going to really need him if the team’s going to make a push, especially when we get back from the All-Star break. So, good for him. Good to see him out there. Hopefully everything feels good tomorrow. Yeah, we certainly wish him well moving forward and we hope that he’s feeling good tomorrow. But I can tell you just the excitement I think in the clubhouse today. You talk to the guys from the pitching staff and they’re just like we’re so excited to see you Darvish doing his homework for this series. So definitely I think a nice boost for the club and like we said we wish him well moving forward. Your thoughts on you Darish getting back out there. How do you think you look tonight? Encouraging. Very encouraging. Um shapes were good. Talking to Ruben after the game, you know, he was pleased about the shapes. way the ball was coming out. My eye test, you know, he was moving well. Velocity was there. Um, you felt good after the game, felt good during the game. So, for him to be able to get that 63 pitches, there’s a little bit of stress in there, but um, and again, you know, he’s only going to get better the more he’s out there. But, you know, it was very, very encouraging outing for for you and it’s good to see him back out there and and see number 11 on the mound for the Padres’s. Going back to something that Mike Schultz said a little earlier on in the press conference there. He used the word encouraging to describe U Darvish’s start tonight. And I know that pregame you talked about just approaching tonight with cautious optimism, right? How do you how do you think you can balance the two? Finding this night is encouraging, but also looking at it with cautious optimism. I I think the cautious optimism comes from what we just saw is like don’t expect the guy to go out there and throw six shutout innings, right? Just do what you can. Reach that pitch count we talked about in pregame. They tried to get him. They got him to 63, but they were thinking between 60 and 75 pitches. And that he feels good, right? That’s to me the takeaway. The results, if he’s healthy, the results, we know they will come. Uh, but I thought Mike Schultz saying it was just great to see number 11 out on the mount in Petco Park. That told you how important it was not only to Mike Schult, but to that entire clubhouse to have a guy with a resume of a U Darish able to take the mount and walk off healthy. Everybody fingers crossed and we’ll talk to him again tomorrow, see how he’s doing. And I think also to this fan base as well to see number 11 on the mound. I mean it was really really cool to see how excited Petco Park was tonight and I’m sure those of you at home as well. Now let’s go ahead get you inside of the clubhouse to hear from you Darish. You how good did it feel to get back out there? Oh it feels good to be back. You know a little bit nervous going back in there but it’s it’s definitely good to be back. You’d mentioned that last time when you’ taken some time off and you came back that you had some butterflies, you had some adrenaline going. Same thing for you tonight. Yeah, I think so. Um I think uh I was a little bit amped up um more than more than usual. So uh yeah. Um yeah, it looked like you had good shape on your breaking pitches. Did you feel good about the stuff tonight? Yes. As far as the off speed goes, I think it was coming out of the hand nicely. Um, I’m happy with that. What were you most pleased with? You you used everything the I mean, I just wonder what were you most pleased with? [Music] I think the fact that I was able to throw the slider um you know without without any issues. I think, you know, part of me I was a little bit worried about uh, you know, it’s a little bit stress on the elbow area and um, but you know, just to be able to throw that pitch stress uh, without, you know, any issues, I think that was that was, you know, the positive part about today. How important was it just to get out there and do what you did tonight in terms of your progress? Yeah, obviously it’s a good thing to be back, you know, back on the mound, back on the big league mound. Um, you know, you find out what you need to adjust, what you need to work on. So, um yeah, I’ll just keep um you know, making those adjustments, keep working and you know um looking forward to the next one. What does your progress look like from here in terms of like the next start and how does the Allstar break help in terms of building you up to that regular pitch count? Yeah, I mean all I can tell you is probably uh the number of pitches may increase as we move forward. Um 15 pitches or so maybe. So um I’m not thinking too ahead, you know. Um but I think you know the ramp up is going to be just adding a little more pitches. I I know you obviously didn’t want to miss the first part of the season, but like do you still feel like given where this team is and like the impact you can make down the stretch that this can still be like there’s still kind of make a lot of what’s what’s to come make a lot of impact for the positive impact for the team? You mean [Music] yeah obviously you want to be a help to the team. You want to bring positive, you know, um bring some positive stuff to the team. So yeah, that’s that’s what I’m trying to do and that’s what I’m aiming for. Like you were around 95 96 with fast ball. What did you think of the fast poke velocity tonight? Is that a range you want to be in going forward? No, I think it’s I think it was good to see 95 96. You know, it it tells you that, you know, your your body is able to do that. You’re you’re able to do that. So, yeah, definitely good to see those numbers. Do you think there might be any benefit you to being able to finish strong? You know, getting this rest that you didn’t want, but might there be a benefit? [Music] No, obviously I hope it’s going to be, you know, better moving forward, but you know, it wasn’t like I was resting healthy for the 3 months. You know, you obviously rehabbing and trying to get back to it, but um yeah, obviously the goal is to try to try to stay strong and, you know, finish the season. What kind of challenge has this been for you? How how has it tested you in a different way than maybe you’ve been tested before in your career? [Music] Yeah. It’s tough, you know, like you have all this time to think about stuff and um but you know, I think the medical staff uh they really helped me help me to get back to where I am. So, um you know, right now there’s a lot of um thankfulness and gratitude gratitude to to those, you know, those guys. What do you think of Manny reaching 2,000 hits and what what has impressed you most about watching him get there? Yeah, it’s good to see him do it on on a day that I’m on the mountain, you know. Um, you know, you see him go out there every day and like he grinds and, you know, that’s impressive to see. Um, I think it’s a it’s a great accomplishment. Fore! [Music] Foreign! Foreign! [Music]
