He Photographed His Wife Leaving Every Day

This guy photographed his wife every morning right before she left him and asked for a divorce. In 1974, Japanese photographer Masahisa Fukasi started a famous series called From Window. Every single morning, Fugas would photograph his wife Yoko Wanibbe from the fourth floor window of their Tokyo apartment as she left for work. Same framing every day, but sometimes she’s excited, sometimes annoyed, sometimes happy, and sometimes distant. Fugasi was known for turning his camera inward on his own life, his own obsessions, and Yoko was his muse for a very long time. She was posing and performing for his camera. But this intense daily scrutiny, this act of him always watching her leave, it definitely played a part in their marriage eventually ending in 1976.   7. They were both cheating on eachother heavily so… yeah🤷🏻‍♂️ (also before ppl say it, yes, though cheating is more normalized in Japan, especially in the 70s, I can imagine it does take its toll)
