タフで泥臭くて攻守のバランスも取れて、守備をサボら無い、ワンタッチで周りにも供給、ターンやフリックの判断スピード、DFから気配を消す動き出しのうまさ。
モナコ1年目の挫折、ワールドカップ後日本代表10番では無くなり招集が減ったあとでも、また息を吹き返したロマンがあって、一番好きな選手になってしまった。
