The competition section was completely dominated by a single commercial film with the largest promotional budget—it took all the prizes. The outcome seriously calls the fairness of the judging into question. Even our treatment on the red carpet was unacceptable. We weren’t given even 30 seconds, and no interviews were conducted with us. Meanwhile, the film that ultimately swept the awards was heavily promoted for many minutes afterward. The imbalance was extreme. In reality, this “competition” was nothing more than a promotional event for a handful of commercial films. There wasn’t even a video record made of our stage greeting during the screening, and we were treated poorly there as well—it was an unpleasant experience from start to finish. This is unacceptable. I will never participate again.
