The 1994 film The Mask, directed by Chuck Russell, is a comedy about Stanley Ipkiss, a mild-mannered bank clerk played by Jim Carrey, who discovers a mysterious mask that grants him extraordinary powers. When he wears the mask, Ipkiss transforms into a wild, superhuman version of himself with exaggerated abilities, allowing him to indulge in a chaotic and playful new persona. As the Mask, he engages in outrageous antics, including fighting criminals and pursuing a romantic interest, all while trying to keep his identity secret.

The film is based on a Dark Horse Comics series of the same name, created by Mike Richardson and written by John Arcudi, with artwork by Doug Mahnke.

The rights to the film are owned by New Line Cinema, which produced and distributed the movie. The rights to the original comic book also belong to Dark Horse Comics.
