At the 2010 Vancouver Winter Games, Daisuke Takahashi won the bronze medal with a score of 247.43. It is the first medal to be won by Japan in men’s figure skating at the Winter Games.
[AP] Takahashi fell on his opening quad but was otherwise clean on his jumps, and was arguably the most charismatic of the skaters.
He is the third figure skating medallist from Japan, after Shizuka Arakawa (gold, 2006) and Midori Ito (silver, 1992).

I've heard some people argue that Takashi should have won the SP by a significant margin and should have won the gold overall due to the lead that he should have had overall going into the LP. I don't know enough about the point system to say whether or not I agree with that. But I do find it interesting that his PCS jumped up significantly in the LP here.
