History Maker – Yuri!!! on ICE – OP (Piano Cover) [Animenz Arr.] | Dean Fujioka

Yuri on ice was definitely not a show I expected to see myself enjoying. I was captivated by the graceful animation and showmanship displayed throughout the series, and the show immediately clicked with me from there on out.

I originally was not too big a fan of the opening, but that quickly changed after listening to Animenz’s piano arrangement. Since it was featured in his sheet music book (Vol.1), I decided to give it a shot.

This piece was definitely the hardest I’ve played in my entire life, and there were some techniques I couldn’t quite get the hang of, mainly the three-hand section at 2:11 and the many runs throughout the piece. If I had more time, I’d definitely try to refine them further. Overall, this was a fun challenge and a big stepping stone for me as a pianist.
