a skinny peasant named Himura Kenshin. He enlisted himself to become a soldier in a revolutionary group whose mission was to overthrow the authoritarian shogunate. During the registration process, several soldiers mocked and doubted his abilities. Witnessing this, the group’s deputy leader, intrigued, immediately asked Kenshin to demonstrate his skills by giving him a sword. Unexpectedly, Kenshin, who initially appeared ordinary, demonstrated a legendary sword technique called Heaton Mitsurugi Ryu. [Music] The group leader, having witnessed the technique firsthand, immediately accepted without hesitation. Thanks to his talent, Kenshin was assigned to be the group’s main soldier. As a result, he gained great respect from the other soldiers. For the sake of the revolution, Kenshin was tasked with slaughtering the Shogun’s troops and supporters. With an acrobatic fighting style, agile and fast movements, a super sharp sword, and a brutal killing instinct. One by one, the Shogun’s troops and their supporters were mercilessly slaughtered. During his mission, Kenzen earned the nickname Batsai, the Slayer. Because of this, he became a top fugitive, constantly sought and pursued by the Shogun’s police. However, this never phased Kensson in the slightest, and he continued to carry out his duties as Battleai the Slayer until the time of war arrived. Kenzen, relentlessly slaughtering the Shogun’s troops and fighting alongside the revolutionary group, finally won the resistance and successfully overthrew the Shogun. At this point, Kenzen’s mission was complete. He ceased his role as Battleside the Slayer, put away his sword, and prepared to welcome the new era.

Written and directed by Keishi Ōtomo, it is the fifth and final installment of the Rurouni Kenshin film series and serves as a prequel, depicting Himura Kenshin’s origins as the assassin “Hitokiri Battōsai”, while exploring his relationship with the woman named Yukishiro Tomoe.
